In a quiet and private setting looking over the landscapes around you, you will soon appreciate the relaxed ambience of this traditional home. Greeted with chilled rosé in the fridge on your arrival, sit back in the al-fresco lounge under the shade of the towering pine trees and listen to the birds sing as you gaze out over the vineyards and valleys.
The calming atmosphere continues inside with a welcoming lounge, a perfectly equipped kitchen and five charming bedrooms scattered across the two floors. Small toys, books and games, a DVD player and even Netflix add to the homely appeal whilst a Bose sound system, Egyptian cotton bath linen and even Turkish pool towels are further examples of the owner’s caring attention to detail in this comfortable abode.
The Provençal gardens are just wonderful; explore the stone steps and rambling terraces dotted with olive trees, herbs, jasmine and lavender. You can dine al-fresco on the magnificent terrace with glorious views or wander up the steps to the pool-house with its summer kitchen, pizza oven and barbecue. Spend warm summer days in the salt-water swimming pool, lazing on the sun-loungers or enjoying long poolside lunches with family and friends.
It’s just 3km to Fayence, wonderful for a morning coffee in a pretty café or evenings out in one of the many excellent restaurants. The market on a Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday is a particularly great way to pick up all sorts of local produce or explore the village’s charming shops. Medieval Seillans is also close by, one of France’s ‘Plus Beaux Villages’ with its steep, winding lanes, picturesque squares and fountains.
Indeed, every day you can discover an idyllic village or town to explore from nearby Tourrettes and Montauroux to Grasse and St Paul de Vence a little further.
Head across to Lac de Saint-Cassien for wonderful walks and watersports or drive down to the French Riviera with the beaches of Cannes, Saint-Raphaël and Théoule-sur-Mer easily reached. Golf-lovers have a great choice of courses across the region and the super adventurous can book a flight excursion at Fayence’s famous gliding centre.

How long have you owned the property?
We have owned the property since 2013.
What was it about the property that you first fell in love with?
We fell in love with Fayence and the Var area over 25 years ago and it became our dream to own a holiday home in Fayence allowing us to gather family and friends from near and far. Our Provençal home is lovingly decorated and full of charm, offering a calming escape from the daily stresses that we all face. Setting foot on the property, we are able to refuel our energy levels whilst exploring the wonderful adventures in the area with our children. Finding a peaceful spot in the sun whilst enjoying the beautiful surroundings doesn’t get any better than this.
For anyone coming to stay, is there anything you suggest that they really…Must eat?
The villages of Fayence and neighbouring Seillans, Tourrettes, Callian and Montauroux are picturesque, hilltop villages with all amenities including cafés, bars and a wide selection of world-class dining experiences. Our village, Fayence, offers superb local market days each Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. Go for a wander and soak up the local flavours; beautiful local fruit & vegetables, olive oils, cheese, herbs, and fabrics etc and end up having a delicious Provençal meal at one of the 22 restaurants that the village has to offer.
Local famous towns within a 45 minutes' drive include St Paul de Vence, Grasse, Valbonne, Gordon, and Mougins. A little further afield and ideal for a day trip, we recommend St Tropez, Avignon and Aix en Provence to explore.
Enjoyable trips to family owned, small boutique vineyards are close by; Chateau des Selves, Domaine de Grande Bastide, and Chateau Iris; all very sweet with a lovely personalised service. The wine producer of the highly esteemed Whispering Angel, Chateau D'esclans, offers a beautiful scenic drive through Bangles en Foret and is a mere 30 minutes from our house.
Lac de Saint-Cassien is a 20 minutes’ drive away and is a beautiful freshwater lake with beaches and waterside restaurants. A fantastic place for kids and adults alike with an array of water sports, swimming, a trip down a giant bouncy water castle, pedalos and angling. The lake is known to be amongst the best lakes in the region for carp fishing, should you desire a more relaxed activity.
If you need a break from our lovely saltwater pool and prefer a bit of beach, the beaches in Cannes, Mandelieu-La-Napoule, Theoule-Sur-Mer, St. Raphael, Frejus and all the way to St. Tropez offers lovely spots for a fabulous day at the beach.
Gorges de Verdon thru Mons offers a drive through landscape of striking beauty where nature is queen. Bring your swimmers and jump in the Lake of Sainte-Croix for a refreshing swim. For food lovers, do visit Moustiers-Sainte- Marie where Alain Ducasse's La Bastide de Moustiers offers sublime gourmet food!
Families with children will find theme parks and activities aplenty with Marineland and Aqualand in Antibes, Magicland in Ensues la Redonne, Le Village de Automates in St Cannat, the Zoo's at Frejus and Cap St Jean de Ferrat, Oceanographic Museum in Monte Carlo and the OK Corral in Cuges le Pins.
There are also some excellent opportunities for golfing with over 30 courses within an hour’s drive of the house; the Terre Blanche is one of the world’s most prestigious destinations for golf lovers and is a mere 15 minutes away.
Hiking trails from the property entrance, cycling & off-road cycling, tennis, biking, gliding, horse riding, sailing, kayaking or water sports are all within a short drive from the house.
What insider tip would you pass on about the property or the area?
The house offers an unparalleled view of the valley and the scenery from the terrace is breath taking; you can feel the tension ebbing away with every moment sitting outside. It offers great entertaining spaces along with a terrific pool area with pool kitchen & dining; it is the perfect holiday hideaway.
We had a wonderfully relaxing time.
The house is fabulous. Our only problem was deciding which coffee maker & BBQ to use next! Your recommendation Chez Hugo was also spot on. Thank you so much for your kindness and advice leading up to the holiday; we really appreciated it.
Tucked up high in the hills, this holiday retreat is beautiful both inside and out!
On the outside, an unparalleled view, tranquil surroundings, an impeccably clean pool, a fabulous outdoor kitchen and several entertaining spaces; perfect for pre-dinner drinks and group dining. On the inside, the owners provide a fully equipped kitchen (suitable for even the most demanding cook and entertainer), two high-end coffee machines to meet morning caffeine demands, stylish decor throughout, generous fluffy towels, reliable WIFI plus Netflix - great for young children in the heat of the day or adults for a lazy night in. Despite the secluded location, the local villages and supermarkets are less than a 10-minute drive and have a surfeit of good quality restaurants. Cannes and quieter riviera towns are only but a short trip. In the other direction lies hilltop villages, winding mountain roads above glacial lakes and for those prepared to make the trip, Alain Ducasse's home from home and exclusive restaurant and hideaway (advance booking a must (as is a dip in the glacial lake on the return route!).
If you choose to stay here you won’t be disappointed!
What a magical place, set on a beautiful wooded hillside, near a lovely village. The villa is a lovely, traditional looking dwelling and we found it very comfortable. We loved the gardens surrounding the villa with abundant oleanders, jasmine, lavender and succulents and the wilder areas on the terraces. The views down over the valley are simply breath taking and sitting on the front terrace before breakfast with a cuppa should not be missed. The trees around the villa offer lots of welcome shade, especially as the sun sinks to the west by the pool. We spent lots of time in the pool, very welcome as there was a heat wave during our holiday. At Tina’s suggestion the ladies of our group indulged in a couple of spa days with Debbie Cook expertly giving aromatherapy massage and reflexology which was so relaxing.
One can’t go to France without sampling the food and wine. We had some memorable lunches and dinners, the little restaurant down at Lac St Cassien, Le Pre’ Claou, Le Temps des Cerises in Fayence and the local glider club to name a few. We very much enjoyed an afternoon sampling the wine at Val D’Iris with Ludovic Vilcoq who is passionate about producing good quality wines.
A great place to stay and we highly recommend it!
We stayed at this beautiful get-away-from-it-all house for 5 days over Easter. At the end of the holiday, we felt as relaxed as we usually do after a two-week break! The scenery from the terrace is breath taking and you can feel tension ebbing away with every minute sitting outside. The house is very well equipped with quality bedding and towels and the decoration is chic and modern. There are some really superb restaurants within an easy drive.
We will be back next year!
We felt the Pike family needed to let you know how much we enjoyed our stay at your lovely home. It is a great place to relax and recharge your battery. A lovely house with awesome views in a location that offers peace and quiet but with quick and easy access the Côte d’Azur. The immediate location offers excellent shopping options and we took advantage of the local markets, too. Good choices of restaurants were on offer. Great walking options and the large Lake you pass was revisited to walk around and get on the water. The house is gated, leading to a long drive and then the views were awesome. Tiered garden from the terrace at the front with mature olive trees and a happy fig tree, pool with pool house, BBQ and pizza oven; a lovely place to sit, sunbath and read, listening to bird song. A meadow to the rear is great for children to run and play in. To the side of the house, the terrace has large comfy furniture and a great BBQ kitchen. The views again across the valley to the hills beyond is super and sitting chatting with a local glass of wine was a pleasure we all enjoyed. You can see from the pictures how lovely the house is. It’s easy living with all you need to enjoy your holiday break and we honestly think, it suits families and couples alike. Once again Thank You!
We had a wonderful 2-week stay here!
The house is comfortable and very well equipped in a perfect, peaceful position with spectacular, far reaching views across the valley. The interiors are spotlessly clean, bedrooms with crisp bedding, bathrooms with plenty of fluffy towels and a fantastically equipped kitchen. The living areas were perfect for our party of seven, the absolute star of the show being the exterior space. Days and evenings were spent lounging by the sunny pool (with an excellent pool kitchen), sitting around the huge shaded dining table and chilling out on the comfy exterior sofas and chairs, all the while admiring the fabulous views. The weather was hot and sunny, and we were blown away by what a stunning part of the world we were in. Fayence is a beautiful little town with an abundance of great restaurants, and there are plenty of other pretty towns to visit in the area, Seillans and Mons just two within a short but fabulously scenic drive away. We had a great day on the nearby Lac de Saint-Cassien, with adults & kids all enjoying the huge inflatable course and pedalos, and another wonderful afternoon was spent at Les Gorges de Pennafort. There is so much to do in this beautiful area but relaxing at this lovely house seemed to take up most of our time! The property manager, Min, was incredibly friendly and helpful at all times during our stay and we would highly recommend this property.
The house is gorgeous and the view perfect!
We very much enjoyed Fayence and its market; there was plenty to do just there - although we roamed as far as Cannes, Nice, and Monaco. The outdoor table was perfect for all meals and there was plenty of space for the two families so that peace and quiet could be sought when required. Lovely pool - I was able to swim properly every day - I much preferred the saltwater to chemicals.
The house is a little piece of paradise!
We have now stayed twice and could not recommend it enough. The property is absolutely stunning and the lovely owners have put thought into every little detail. The house is beautifully decorated and those with a love for food will particularly appreciate a fully equipped kitchen and outdoor BBQ. The place is perfect for several couples or for families with children who can enjoy the pool, large terrace and outdoor areas. The location is also perfect - less than an hour from Nice for easy connection to the rest of Europe, while also sufficiently close to Aix to Provence, St. Tropez, Antibes and other great locations for day trips. The lovely towns of Fayence and Seillans are only a few minutes away offering an excellent selection of restaurants, cute shops and weekly markets. We only hope to be fortunate to return again!
We very much enjoyed our stay at this property!
It was a most relaxing week in a very comfortable house with the most amazing and inspiring views over the Provençal countryside.
The more active amongst us enjoyed swimming in the beautiful saltwater pool; and walking or even running in the area, and we all loved the great restaurants recommended by you in the charming hilltop towns. Many thanks for a lovely stay.
We had a wonderful stay in your house on the hill!
It was very well-equipped, and the summer kitchen was a great hit. Thank you very much for the toys and highchairs – it really made things very easy with the twins.
We had such a wonderful and relaxing stay in your beautiful house!
The views were so lovely over the valley and a perfect setting for dinner every evening. The pool area was in constant use and the kitchen area was amazing to have. It was so handy to have the use of all of the baby toys. We have now just ordered a Jumperoo as Freddie loved it! Your property manager was lovely and gave some great recommendations for local restaurants and places to visit. The week though went far too quickly and we all wished we could stay on.
A lovely, peaceful house with a great pool and views to die for!
All located within walking distance of beautiful Fayence. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and do not hesitate to recommend this property to others.
