What Oliver loves…
- Jaumarie is a pretty village house full of charm, character and original features
- The friendly owners are meticulous when preparing the property for guests and everything is spotless and well tended - their welcome pack of wine, fruit, tea, coffee and lots of other goodies is very thoughtful
- The enclosed swimming pool area with its covered dining terrace and built-in barbecue
Your family holiday should feel like home, only better. At this villa in Dordogne the owners will welcome you warmly to Jaumarie, a comfortable, cottage-style retreat. Tall windows and white painted beams overhead brighten the open living, kitchen, and dining area. Every room in the house retains an Old World feel, with stone walls and brick fireplace facades from long ago. Outside, the walled patio creates an intimate pool and dining area. The shaded terrace hosts a dining table that seats 6, meanwhile the chef of the group will be experimenting with the classic brick oven.
Friday is market day in the neighboring town of Ribérac, also known for many exquisite Romanesque churches. The other nearby town, Saint Astier, has a market full of fresh local foods every Thursday. A refreshing way to explore the nearby towns is on one of the bicycles provided at the villa.
A little farther afield, Périgueux (30 km) has heaps of historical interest - it's the site of many Roman ruins and an archaeology museum that history buffs will adore. The nearest airport is in Bergerac (44 km) - if you fly in here don't leave right away! Dozens of world-class wineries await.

The pace of life in the Dordogne is languid, laid back and positively infectious. Relax in bucolic beauty as you drift along the Dordogne River, or wander among the forests and hillside of the Périgord Natural Park.
The foodie scene too, is a relaxed affair. Take your time over your lazy lunches of local duck, black truffles and goats cheese. If you’re feeling energetic, you can even hunt for them yourself. The wine here is second to none, with infamous grapes like Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Chenin Blanc all having a huge presence here.
The Dordogne is also brimming with history. Castles and chateaux are scattered throughout the region, among the enchanting medieval villages. History of an altogether more ancient sort can also be explored in the incredible prehistoric cave drawings of Lascaux and Grotte de Rouffignac.
There are also 2 highchair, 2 folding cots, 2 baby Angel's Nests and 2 baby blankets

The holiday we had at Jaumerie, France was delightful. Your service was excellent (we love the bag and the box of goodies) and the recommended places to visit were helpful. Nicole as the hostess was lovely and brought wine, fresh eggs from her chickens and fruit from her trees. It was spotlessly clean and well situated. We will book with you again and have recommended friends.
Lovely and relaxing getaway!
Lovely, peaceful, friendly.
Spent a week with our grown up boys enjoying the peace and quiet. Nicole was welcoming and on her check in midweek bought us treats and enjoyed chatting with us. Had an interesting conversation with a neighbour who helped us out with a running route. The house is lovely - especially the outdoor space, we spent very little time indoors.
What an amazing place. We couldn’t have been happier. We can’t fault it. We were spoilt whilst there with deliveries of wine, fois gras, biscuits, fruit!!! Nothing was too much trouble for our gracious hosts. We’ve booked for next year! Really looking forward to seeing the beautiful Jaumarie again.
We recently enjoyed a fabulous week at Jaumarie and can’t wait to return! Nicole is incredibly welcoming, from meeting us at the train station upon our arrival, to the thoughtful gifts she left during our stay. She made a great impression upon our 3 young children and offered lots of tips for places to visit during our stay. We cannot recommend Jaumarie highly enough, the facilities are perfect for a large family (we had our 3, 6 and 8 year old with us), the pool and outdoor bbq area is outstanding and the standards of cleanliness are impeccable throughout. What a fabulous holiday destination...we certainly wouldn’t stay anywhere else when we next visit the region!
We stayed for 1 week at Jaumarie with our 3 young children and had the most amazing time! This was our first holiday abroad with 3 children in tow and we were certainly not disappointed!! The owner, Nicole, was beyond hospitable...her welcome pack included all the essentials considering we arrived late at night and her instructions were faultless. Part-way through our stay, she revisited to check we were happy and also to replenish our children's supplies of sweets! The entire property was exceptional and far outweighed our expectations! I would whole-heartedly recommend this fabulous home! An amazing lady who has created a truly wonderful holiday home...we will be back!!
Such a wonderful home for a family holiday. The owners were fantastic and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome with advice on where to go and gifts during the week. The children loved the swimming pool and games area. We would highly recommend Jaumarie for a family holiday.
A truly wonderful house!
This place is superb! We had a fantastic time. The hosts were lovely and always available to assist, always dropping off gifts which was nice. There was one issue with the pool and they were round to fix it the same day! I would recommend it to anyone!
Great chateau for family celebration!
Having booked with the very helpful staff at Olivers Travels, we were advised to call the home owner upon arrival at the local train station so they could "guide us in." Just as well we called, as we would never have found Jaumarie without help! Well off the beaten track in a most peaceful location we found our home for the next week. The three comfortable bedrooms and open plan living area were to be home to my husband and I, our daughter, son in law, grand-daughter of 6 months and 2 very special friends for the next 7 days. The owners really care about their guests and it became obvious that nothing was too much trouble. From setting up the cot and baby monitor, to making sure that our welcome pack catered for everyone. The house and pool were spotlessly clean and we were shown how to use the "robot" pool cleaner along with all the appliances in the house. The outside patio area had a built in BBQ, with plenty of seating and sun beds for all guests. Nicole had even secretly stowed party hats, hula skirts and other paraphernalia to help with our plans to celebrate my husband’s 60th birthday! Nicole and her husband were always on hand and delivered "petite cadeaux" on more than one occasion which made us feel valued and extra special. We would have absolutely no hesitation to strongly recommend this property and would love to visit again if our busy lives allow.
Amazing Property & Lovely Owners, Great for Families!
We had a fabulous stay at Jaumarie. It’s a beautiful property and we received such a warm welcome from the owner Nicole. As well as the arrival pack she brought us a beautiful bottle of wine and local delicacies during the week. The house has a lovely charm and although the pool isn’t huge there’s lots of space to relax, sunbathe, play table tennis or table football and eat outside. We used the brick BBQ every evening! It’s so peaceful there. Living in London, it was such a luxury just to watch the sunrise and sunsets and the only thing you hear are the birds tweeting! We loved our stay and the area and would definitely go back!
Elegant and Graceful
We have just come back from a week’s stay in the beautiful cottage Jaumarie, in Southwest France.
The owner was lovely warm and friendly leaving us croissants midweek and wine for our stay as well as helpful tips on the local areas markets and restaurants.
The house is gorgeous and very clean, containing everything you need for the perfect family break. Each room is decorated to a high standard and the beds are so comfortable with plenty of pillows and extra soft blankets if it gets a bit chilly.
The outside of the house is extra special too. The swimming pool is set in a beautiful courtyard not over looked at all with tasteful terracotta plants. An added bonus this year was the table tennis table and table football.
In the evenings we would take a glass of wine and sit outside the front of the house which over looks a spectacular green valley with buzzards flying about.
The Wi fi was good and there was a good choice of TV channels to keep everyone happy.
We had a lovely restful break at Jau Marie and would thoroughly recommend it to any one as one of the best villas we have ever stayed in.
Home from Home
We were made to feel very welcome. Our 11 month old loved the swimming pool. Nicole was very friendly and brought us gifts everytime she came. We would definitely recommend Jaumarie to couples and families.
A perfect holiday
Our family, consisting of three teenagers and four adults stayed here in August to celebrate my sisters 50th birthday. We could not have chosen a better place! Jaumarie is perfect in every way - the photos on the website, in my opinion, don't do it justice. The setting, on a hillside is just stunning and perfect for relaxing. The surrounding area is beautiful with the village of Neuvic close by with plenty of shops and an Intermarche. We hardly left the villa as it had everything we needed and more. When we arrived we were met by the lovely owner Nicole who showed us around and how everything worked. She had left for us wine, water, milk, juice etc and a huge bowl of fruit. The house was immaculate and attention to detail amazing. There was every pot, pan, utensil we needed for cooking , a lot of which we did on the outside charcoal grill. The entertaining area was perfect for the evenings and there was even an outdoor speaker to play music there - talk some cds with you!
On my sisters birthday the owner even turned up with croissants and champagne for us - what more can you ask for? The owners have really gone the extra mile with Jaumarie and it shows. It was a perfect holiday and we would definitely return in the future.
Hi - we stayed in Jaumarie for a week in August. Absolutely beautiful house and a very lovely accommodating owner...anyone who leaves us fruit, juices and wine as well as delivering some fois gras in the middle of our stay will always get a thumbs up!
Only one tip - it would be nice to have some plastic glasses for out by the pool.
A Little piece of Heaven on a Hill
Booked Jaumarie after reading the reviews on the website......they did not exaggerate.....Nicole could not have been more helpful in guiding us around her beautiful holiday home. The fridge was stocked with Champagne and rose(can't find an acute accent !)...the fruit bowl was full and there was even a bowl full of sweets !! The kitchen had every conceivable utensil and spices, sauces ,condiments.....the works !! The pool was fabulous and the outdoor cooking and dining area ideal. The nearby town of Neuvic had all the shops necessary for day to day living especially with the new supermarket. Wonderful holiday....wonderful owners...what's not to like.
My partner and I stayed for 1 week with his teenage children. When we arrived we couldn't believe how beautiful Jaumarie and the setting were. The attention to detail is fantastic, we couldn't have wanted for more. The property has been lovingly restored by Nicole and her husband and has a real luxurious feel to it whist still be homely. We spent a lot of time outside as the pool area and BBQ is great. The location is quiet with local amenities a short drive away. Nicole made us feel so welcome and nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommend. Just perfect, thank you!
We will never forget this holiday
We booked to stay at Jaumarie as part of my husband’s 50th birthday celebrations and we were not disappointed. Four of us had the run of the place for 2 weeks. We were bowled over by the attention to detail in the house and the provision for almost every possibility – this place is absolutely fabulous! It is tucked away on a quiet hilltop, but is close enough to local towns and provided a good base for day trips out. We really enjoyed the pool and BBQ facilities which were fantastic. Nicole, the wonderful owner, really went the extra mile to make us feel welcome in this beautiful house by giving us a taste of the local food and wine. We will never forget this holiday and look forward to returning in the near future. Kind Regards
Wonderful week at Jaumarie
There was nothing to fault during our week at Jaumarie. There was a warm welcome from Nicole with a fridge stocked with champagne and all the essentials needed to settle in. Michel had left a superb bowl fruit and a bottle of fine Bergerac wine. The welcome could not have been better.
The accommodation was delightful with great views over the valley and so peaceful - we only saw three cars pass the house during the week.
Location was handy for nipping into Neuvic with its supermarket,, boulangeries, restaurants and market. Cannot wait to go back.
