Five-bedroomed Villa Christofi is three levels of holiday luxury. The classic-meets-contemporary-style villa is located just two minutes’ drive from Protaras centre on Cyprus’s stunning eastern coast. When you arrive, you’re greeted with a sleek whitewashed building that backs onto a spacious garden and swimming pool terrace. Find your favourite sunbathing spot on one of the cushioned loungers or cool off in the crystal-clear waters. There’s also a barbecue, outside dining area and outside shower – all overlooking the mesmerising coastal and Mediterranean Sea views.

Inside Villa Christofi there’s an open-plan kitchen, living room and dining area. Plush light grey sofas adorned with colourful cushions create a warm and homely setting, along with bright artwork which stands out against the minimalist natural-coloured walls. There’s a wall-mounted television – perfect for keeping the children entertained – as well as a pool table outside. The dining area has a table and chairs to seat eight as well as a breakfast bar – both near to the large glass doors and windows letting in the natural light and the scenic outdoor views – so meal times are a real treat at this villa.

On this floor is one of the bedrooms, a double with direct access to the veranda. Going up a level, you’ll find the two of the other four bedrooms. There’s a master bedroom with double bed as well as and a twin bedroom. The bedrooms are all equally welcoming and have fitted wardrobes so there’s plenty of space to hang up your holiday attire. On the lower ground floor, you’ll find the fourth and fifth twin bedrooms, and a large open space which has another two single beds, so the villa can easily sleep up to ten. With two bathrooms too, there won’t be any fighting over the shower in the morning.

Villa Christofi is in Protaras, a popular resort town on Cyprus’s eastern coast. This beautiful area is known for its Blue Flag beaches, friendly local tavernas and historic Hellenistic sites. One of the most scenic beaches is Fig Tree Bay – it has soft sands and crystal-clear waters that are ideal for swimming. If you’re feeling energetic, try some water sports or go snorkelling around the small island, just a short swim from the shore. You could also take a stroll along the coastal boardwalk, stopping for drinks along the way or explore the rock cave at the north end of the beach. For more challenging hikes many coastal trails go north to Louma Beach and south to Lombardi Beach.

Cape Greco National Forest Park with its clear waters and protected pine forest trails is also a must visit. You can walk, cycle or horse ride the route for fantastic nature, sea and coastal cliff views. Or, to the northwest of Protaras is the limestone Church of Profitis Ilias, it marks one end of a nature trail that leads to Konnos Beach. For more culture, you could also head to the capital of Nicosia with buildings including Selimiye Mosque and the pretty old town with its Venetian sandstone walls.

Scuba diver? Cape Greco in Ayia Napa is an excellent choice. It has a variety of caves, rock formations and canyons to explore and is easily reaches via boat trip. When it’s time to take a break from the sea, the small shops and market stalls in Protaras centre are a great place to pick up souvenirs or fresh local produce for your barbeque. In-between, stop for a refreshing drink or bite to eat at one of the restaurants, bars or cafés. By night, try karaoke or sip cocktails in one of the bars.

Region

Perched on Cyprus’s stunning southeastern coastline, Protaras is a Mediterranean jewel boasting sky-blue seas, sun-soaked beaches, and laid-back touches of traditional charm. What is more, Protaras’ serrated coastline of coves and promontories means there is no shortage of shallow, serene bays that are ideal for families, swimming, and watersports.

The famed Fig Tree Bay, with its shallow, protected water and golden sands is the most popular beach, and regularly listed among the best in Europe. Named after the lone fig tree set amidst its pristine sands, this quaint inlet is a picturesque retreat for sunbathers and snorkelers alike, but it’s also only the beginning of Protaras’ delightful qualities.

If you’re looking for a slightly quieter spot to sunbathe and dip your toes in the calm, Mediterranean waters, make your way south across the Fig Tree Peninsula to find a series of bays, including Green Bay which is a laid-back and excellent spot for snorkeling where you might even be lucky enough to see a sea turtle!

But snorkeling only scratches the surface of Protaras’ spectacular coastline, as it is a haven for scuba divers of all levels of experience. The region boasts a number of fantastic dive sights including the Green Bay Caves, the wrecks of the Liberty and the Nemesis, and the wonderful submerged gallery of statues which is close enough to shore to be accessible to divers and snorkelers alike. But if getting your feet wet isn’t your bag, not to fear, the coastline is equally wonderful to explore on a private boat tour. Tours explore highlights such as Cape Greco, Konnos Bay and the lovely Blue Lagoon.

Anyone looking to put their hiking boots to good use will revel in Protaras’s sublime selection of hiking options, from the rugged Cape Greco National Park to the unique Paralimni Lake – a natural saltwater wetland area swamped with migratory birds including herons, ducks, and even pink flamingoes. Cape Grego National Park is well known for its breathtaking landscapes and boasts several hiking trails. What is more, the Park offers a bevy of swimming spots so make sure to bring your bathers.

Far from limited to natural wonders, Protaras is also a culinary adventure. The town’s tavernas are brimming with grilled halloumi and souvlaki, and serve as the perfect spots to sit and relax as twilight turns to evening and the strum of bouzouki music serenades the streets and promenades. But don’t get too comfortable, because the night won’t end there. Protaras has a lively nightlife which centres on The Strip where numerous bars and clubs are open until late into the night, offering plenty of music and entertainment to keep the party going.

With its splendid assortment of natural wonders from serene bays to rugged landscapes, and no shortage of activities, attractions, and alluring culinary delights, Protaras is a picturesque location for a perfect vacation whether you’re a young family or a group of firm friends.

Kids

Best Suited For: All Ages
Ideal for Kids

Villa Christofi is a short two-minute drive from Protaras centre and the nearest sandy beach – and has its own swimming pool, outdoor area and pool table making it an ideal choice for families.

Protaras is well known for its family-friendly beaches. Fig Tree Bay or Konnos Beach are excellent choices. Kids young and old can take part in a variety of water sports like snorkelling, sea kayaking and parasailing and at Fig Tree Bay there’s a small island you can swim out to.

Protaras is also home to Cape Greco National Forest Park with protected pine forest trails. The routes allow the family to spend some quality time together in nature and take in fantastic sea and cliff views. You can reach the park on a boat trip and because of its calm and crystal-clear waters it’s also an excellent place for kids and adults to scuba dive or snorkel. In Ayia Napa, a short drive away, there are also fourteen Blue Flag beaches as well as water park for a fun family day out.

  • Absolutely fantastic Villa

    on 26/08/2022

Absolutely fantastic Villa. Just as described, has all mod cons. Fab pool. No issues at all! Fabulous communication from the host and the team. It’s really just a 20 minute walk down to the main strip and Fig Tree Bay. Location was easy to find, great amenities all around the area. A great area and really quiet away from the road with improvements happening all around so can only get even better. Would definitely return. Thanks for a great holiday home!

  • Couldn't recommend it enough!

    on 17/09/2020

We are so happy that our holiday was able to go through despite the pandemic and we had such an amazing stay. The villa was more than ideal for the 9 of us, it was in a decent location, the amenities were brilliant, the host was available through messages whenever we needed. Sorted out transfers for us and allowed us for a late check out! Cyprus is absolutely beautiful and so was the weather. Couldn't recommend it enough!
