Overview

Pool Modern Ideal for Kids

A petite but perfectly formed villa with charming, traditionally crafted exteriors combined with modern interiors. Take a refreshing dip in the plunge pool to cool down after a busy day on Cyprus. The sliding doors lead directly to the pool area, which has an outdoor shower for convenience. Here, you'll find plenty of terrace space, four sun loungers with purple cushions that match the lilac flowers around the pool.

Dramatic arches feature throughout the property as a design motif and the interiors are decorated in fresh white with splashes of orange and cornflower blue. In the living room, curl up on the soft grey sofas with colourful scatter cushions. Oversized freestanding lamps make a real statement, while autumnal art hangs on the wall. The white fireplace adds a sleek, modern edge while the gently curved arches are visually stunning and make breezy open-plan living easy and carefree.

Just beyond this is the dining area with a circular table with pale grey chairs and contrasting blue tableware and vase. Adjacent to this, the kitchen is beautifully designed with tiny monochrome mosaic tiles with silver detailing. It is as practical as it is stylish, well equipped for self-caterers and includes an oven and dishwasher. Whip up a Mediterranean inspired feast, or some home comforts for the whole family to enjoy.

The two lovely bedrooms that sleep four guests both have double beds with crisp linen and pops of pale blue and grey. Floor to ceiling windows enable the light to flow into the rooms and provides gorgeous views of the island. The first bedroom has a print of Paris on the wall, while the second has a floral piece - both add character and colour. Modern twists such as a curved glass bedside table and a skylight keep the design fresh, while exposed wooden ceilings add a cosy feel. Ensuite bathrooms are decorated in pretty peach tiles with white fittings and frosted glass showers.

This idyllic hideaway is nestled in Ayia Thekla, just outside of Ayia Napa. Peaceful and quiet, this area on the southeastern coast of Cyprus is known as a party destination, but Ayia Napa is also bursting with rich history and culture. In the centre of town, there is a well known ancient monastery with a tranquil garden setting and a medieval church. Made from honey-coloured limestone with Byzantine influences, this monastery even includes a cave.

Cyprus as a whole is dotted with vineyards, pine trees and wildflower-filled meadows. The coastline is adorned with dazzling white-sand beaches and impossibly blue water, while there's hiking, museums and ancient ruins to explore inland. In Ayia Napa town you'll find an impressive selection of atmospheric restaurants and folklore bars, as well as a buzzing nightlife.

The closest beach to the villa is just 3km away, and Ayia Napa is home to some of Cyprus' most wonderful beaches. Ayia Thekla beach is named after the church that has stood here proudly for centuries. With its golden powdery sand and shimmering turquoise sea, this beach is picturesque, family-friendly and has no shortage of umbrellas for some shade!

Nissi beach is also near to the villa, with fine white sand and swirling blue and green waters - it is what springs to mind when you think of Mediterranean beaches. The beach is also famous for its watersports - try windsurfing, parasailing or kitesurfing. Alternatively, this area is an excellent introduction to scuba diving; the coral reefs around Cyprus are absolutely stunning.

Visit Cape Greco National Park which contains sublime hiking trails such as Aphrodite's Nature Trail with amazing views over the coastline below. Arguably the most spectacular attraction in Cape Greco is the array of sea caves and strange rock formations that have formed natural cavities, nooks and crannies that divers adore. You can swim in the crystalline waters here.

Take a day trip to Paphos to better understand Cyprus' culture and tumultuous history - the island has one of the oldest civilisations in the Mediterranean area. With brilliantly preserved tombs, Roman ruins and ancient mosaics, there's so much to see and do in Paphos. The Tombs of the Kings, interestingly, has nothing to do with royalty but were named after how grand the underground chambers and tombs were.

Aphrodite's Rock is the spiritual home of the Greek goddess of love, who was born of the sea foam in Paphos. Swim around the rock three times and you will be blessed with eternal youth, good fortune, true love, beauty and fertility according to ancient lore. A word of warning: the sea here is rough! However, you can still get a great view of Aphrodite's Rock from Petra Tou Romiou beach.

Cyprus has diverse and tasty local food - the best way to start is with a traditional meze platter. This way, you can get try out lots of different dishes. Famously, Cyprus is where halloumi originates, grilled or barbecued to perfection and served with pitta bread, salad and a side of hummus. For dessert, try some syrupy baklava.
