Villa Darina is a stylish modern villa on the northern tip of the Uglijan Island. Sleeping eight across four bedrooms, its incredibly high standard of furnishing makes it the ideal location for those looking for something special on the Croatian coastline.
As you arrive at Villa Darina, the layout guides you straight into the large and airy living room. The large C-shaped sofa immediately invites you to rest your feet after a long journey to your new holiday home. From here you can enjoy a movie on the large television, or even relax to one of your fellow guests playing the beautiful piano. As you move through the living space you are guided towards the modern and impeccably well-designed kitchen and dining area. A large island with bar stools makes cooking a sociable event, as there is plenty of space for everyone to get involved!
The kitchen is extremely well equipped, with everything you may need to recreate some of the amazing local dishes. The large wooden dining table softens the modern kitchen, making a warm and comfortable atmosphere, perfect for long dinners, that stretch into the night with your loved ones! Also, downstairs is the indoor pool and play area, here you can enjoy a refreshing dip in the pool in complete privacy, or just sit back and relax on a sun longer out of the Croatian heat.
The play area is great for kids to enjoy their own space, playing in safety.
Walking up the cool and airy staircase takes you to the first floor and sleeping areas. The master bedroom boasts beautiful sea views that you can enjoy from the comfort of your bed and has an exceptional en-suite with a large bath, from which you can also take in the magnificent view! There are a further two double rooms, all with bathrooms and plenty of storage space, so no need to pack light! Finally, a twin room lies opposite the incredible rooftop terrace. The terrace is finished with a table and chairs so you can soak in the spectacular sunsets with a cool glass of wine in complete privacy.
Each room downstairs gives access to the outside of the villa through large patio doors. From the lounge you can step out to the second terrace, with space to dine al-fresco, or to lounge on a sun lounger, looking out across the pool. There is no doubt Villa Darina is a stunning home from home and the perfect place to start your Croatian adventure!

- We recommend hiring a car to explore the local area, making the most of this villa’s fabulous location.
- There are no barriers around the private swimming pool, so you may need to keep an eye on young ones around the pool.
- There is little outdoor shade, however there are plenty of beautiful spaces inside to escape the heat.

About the surrounding area of Villa DarinaLocated a short walk away from the village of Muline, you can explore the beach and local restaurants without any need for a car. The quite village is home to local fisherman and a very traditional Croatian way of life, it’s a safe place with incredibly friendly locals. Although small Muline offers a great array of cycle paths following old olive oil plantations and opportunities to go diving. The area was once an important olive oil hub for the Roman Empire, with the influence still visible across the region.
To explore the island further, head to Luka beach. This sandy beach is shaded through the day by ancient olive trees and is a wonderful location to enjoy a picnic whilst watching the yachts pass by. Its shallow water and rock pools are ideal for kids to spend the day exploring! If you feel like a good walk, the hike to St. Michaels Fortress is well worth it. Although heavily damaged during the second world war the views of Preko, and Zadar are exceptional and give a perfect depiction of the Croatian coastline.
Be sure to take a day trip to Zadar, this beautiful city is home to some incredible ancient and medieval architecture. Explore the winding streets of this beautiful streets and enjoy the hustle and bustle of street vendors and cafes. Visit St Anastasia’s Cathedral for an amazing example of 12th century grandiose, you can also enjoy the spectacular views of the city from the cathedrals bell tower. For a more modern site, visit the Sun Salutation at sunset and watch the incredible light show of the solar system in setting of the beautiful orange sunsets the frequent the coastline.
A little further afield is Krka national park. Home to the UNESCO world heritage site, the Skradinski falls. These beautiful waterfalls cascade down the mountain into big pools where you can jump in and cool off from the heat for the day. There is also an abundance of walking and cycling routes around the national park. If its too hot to for a walk, take boat trip to the island monastery of Visovac, this isolated island is truly stunning and is well worth the trip.

The main town on Ugljan, Preko is an utterly charming coastal village boasting a picturesque harbour and a lovely promenade. Take leisurely walks along the seafront, indulge in local cuisine at the waterfront restaurants, and immerse yourself in the town's welcoming atmosphere. A visit to St. Michael's Fort is a must! This well-preserved medieval fortress has sweeping panoramic views of
the island and its surrounding waters, making it an ideal spot for photography enthusiasts and great for a bit of historical exploration!
Ugljan boasts numerous beautiful beaches, each with its unique character. Sabusa Beach and Muline Beach are both popular choices for sunbathing and swimming, but there are numerous secluded spots to be discovered along the coastline.
Pasman, connected to Ugljan via Ždrelac Bridgebridge, is known for its pristine nature, crystal-clear waters, and a slower pace of life that means you can really switch off. Pasman is especially famous for its idyllic sandy beaches, as well as secluded natural bays - it’s a real slice of paradise, and still relatively untouched.
Tkon is the largest town on Pasman, and it's a delightful place to explore. Take a wander through the charming streets lined with stone houses, and visit the town’s Church of St. Thomas, a historic monument with more stunning views not to be missed. St. Damian’s Monastery is 12th-century Franciscan monastery, with beautiful gardens and a panoramic view from the bell tower. The monastery houses a museum featuring religious art and artefacts.
Some of the best coastal spots on Pasman include Crljina Beach, Suha Punta, and St. Damian's Bay. They’re often less busy than the beaches on the mainland, making them perfect for relaxing days soaking up the sea and sun. Ugljan and Pasman islands offer a fantastic base for a bit of island hopping. You can easily explore the neighbouring islands of Dugi Otok, Kornati, and Zverinac. Each one offers distinct experiences, ranging from national parks to secluded coves, allowing you to embark on your own unique voyage of discovery.

Best Suited For: All AgesThe villa has a playroom for young children to enjoy messing around in, with a small table and chairs for them to draw at. The pool is also fantastic for children of all ages to cool off and play around in! Outside the large lawn area is perfect for running around and making up new games throughout the week. It is also enclosed with walls and leafy bushes to protect the children from the road, although it is an exceptionally quiet area. Perhaps after a long day of site seeing, the kids may want to lay back and relax on the large sofa and enjoy the satellite television available.
The village is well suited for young children, its small and quiet nature is family friendly, with the restaurants catering to younger children. Teenagers can even sign up to go diving at the diving centre. There are several wreckages and exciting sites underwater that are well worth exploring. Outside the village, a great family day out can be found by renting bicycles from Preko. Ask the rental company for a guide map, there are many routes to chose from all ranging in difficulty and length.
Ugljan has over twenty kilometres of coastline, so there is no shortage or beaches to explore. Although there are some particularly popular spots such as the sandy Jaz beach or paved ones like the very nice Batalaža beach. Batalaža beach has a lovely promenade with cafes and shops, so you can treat the kids to ice cream whilst dipping you toes in the coal Adriatic Sea.
The oldest village on the island is a mere five-minute drive away, with ancient Roman and medieval ruins throughout the town, it’s a fascinating place to explore. It is also well known for its excellent fish restaurants, perfect for all the family!
Head towards Zadar for exciting journey on the ferry and explore some of the great family friendly sites on offer. Be sure to go listen to the sea organ in the harbour, this amazing installation makes music from the waves, a great experience for any kids to hear. Or go watch the light show at sunset at the Sun Salutation, a real experience for kids of all ages.
