With miles upon miles of coastal white sand beach shore, lush green forests and jungles, mountains and home of some of the most delicious cuisines in the world, the northern coast of Jamaica, has something for everyone!

The vibrant Hopewell and northern coast of Jamaica is punctuated by colourful shops, restaurants and bars, their bright presentations emboldened by the Jamaican climate. Expect laid back and friendly people in this beautiful island, so you will have no problem jamming in the sun!

What better place to start your stay than a visit to the many beaches that dot the northern coast? Presenting both private beaches with paid access as well as public beaches immersed in the island culture, you will be sure to accommodate any mood you desire. Just a short distance away lies Montego Bay where you can find renowned beaches such as Doctor's Cave and Dead End beach.

Under 20 minutes west of Hopewell, lies Hanover, the proud home to the Tyrall Club a world-renowned golf course featuring 2,200 acres of bewitching natural beauty where rolling hills and valleys tumble down to one and a half miles of private shoreline.

Jamaica is a rich blend of culture and history from the many different countries who have sailed to their shores! As such, you will find amazing tours and locations dedicated to promoting the islands rich history. The religion of Rastafarianism cuts through all aspects of Jamaican life and the world known but little explored way of life can be discovered at the Jamaican Rastafarian villages in the northern coast.

Visit Ocho Rios to stand in the same spot Christopher Columbus did when he discovered the beautiful island in the Caribbean Sea. Kids can rest assured that they will have unforgettable experiences in Jamaica. From still and calm waters and smaller cascades for toddlers and younger children, to water slides, rafts and swimming with dolphins for the bigger and more adventurous children. Watch your kids laugh with fright at the spooky Rose Hall Great House and also reflect on the island’s history. Hopewell is a fishing town so you can dine on delicious, freshly caught fish that can be served with the many other natural delights grown in the country. The entire northern coast is easily accessible from any part so you can visit the Hip Strip in Montego Bay for a night out in Jamaica you surely will relive again and again! The villa is no more than 20 minutes to Montego Bay and 30 minutes to Ocho Rios.

Tamila Lodge's spacious layout, both indoor and outdoor means children have the freedom to play anywhere they find themselves and the connecting rooms means kids can play under the eyes of watchful adults! The villa contains iPhone docks, cable television and DVD players to keep children entertained, whilst outdoor children can find ample space to frolic in the Jamaican sun whilst they shoot hoops or take to the swings under the sweet smell of mango tree scents!

The many beaches that are spotted around the island cater to all sizes and ages of children. The northern coast stands out however, due to the amount they have. From Aqua Sol Beach featuring waterslides, go karting and tonnes of adrenaline racing activities, both kids and adults alike will have a day out that will stay with them for life! Or for those with smaller and younger children, or for children who prefer an opportunity to unwind and relax, Dead End beach has still calm waters, perfect for babies and toddlers not yet ready for waves!

The Dunns River Fall has both exhilarating and tranquil scaling and hiking routes! Bring your swimsuit as you will need to climb and swim up cascades of beautiful refreshing waterfalls! At the top, why not zipline down through the trees or take a circle raft and spin and crash down the rapids back to the bottom! For an adventure just as breath-taking but more relaxed, go and swim with the dolphins at Dolphins Cove and for those who still seek a thrill, you can pet the sharks!

Kids may find themselves intrigued with the Jamaican landscape and culture so why not fill this curiosity with a visit to the many plantations that have been preserved for tours! Gain an insight into the colonial years in Jamaica and reflect on history! Museums presenting the finest art Jamaica offers can be located in Montego Bay as well as the Columbus Museum in Ocho Rios to find out how this precious gem of an island was discovered by Europeans!

Jamaican food and drink is delicious and many dishes here are created with natural ingredients so you'll be shocked when your children begin to crave juicy fruits whilst there!

  • Planning on returning

    Posted by Lakina on 23/01/2018

Upon arrival light snacks and drinks were provided. Leighton and Alan cooked the best meals for us. Every morning we had fresh fruit and juice. Each meal was cooked to perfection. Ms. Lele and Ms. Peaches cleaned and made the Lodge feel like home every day. The staff was helpful and friendly, by the end of our vacation they were more like family. Alessia was our private driver and we appreciate her knowledge and her patience. My family is always late and she never made it seem like it was a problem. She was also able to give us some history and knowledge about local life on the island. My family is already planning on returning to the Lodge in the future.
