About the surrounding area of Villa BatistaCasa de Campo resort, near the city of La Romana in the Dominican Republic, enjoys a reputation as the best in the country. With a comprehensive range of facilities including three highly-rated golf courses, it offers a luxurious experience with plenty to see and do.
Among the resort’s sports facilities are tennis courts, a shooting range, soccer school and an equestrian centre, and there are numerous opportunities to try water-sports from sailing to kayaking and sea-fishing. The resort also offers fitness and wellness facilities, with a gym and spa both available to guests.
The private Minitas Beach is another highlight, combining informal dining with live music, DJ's, and stunning views of the Caribbean Sea. Other restaurants offer international and local cuisine in styles such as French, Spanish, Italian and Mexican. Outside the resort, nearby La Romana offers many more dining opportunities, as well as shopping, clubs, casinos and more beautiful beaches.
A particular attraction for visitors is Altos de Chavon, a village which appears old but, in fact, isn’t. Painstakingly created, the work only began in the late 1970’s but the results are incredible. The amazing open-air amphitheatre is a real triumph and has welcomed many of the music world’s biggest and best. A cultural centre and various artists’ studios and galleries give Altos a real creative spirit too.

Its lovely gardens and tranquil location give it lots of homely character, and there’s plenty of space to play on the lawn or in the private pool. The house is well equipped, with comfy bedrooms, television and Wi-Fi, and the barbecue and hot tub are sure to appeal as well.
The Casa de Campo resort features a tropical swimming pool, some lovely restaurants for dining together, and a couple of food trucks serve up snacks – handy for those long days on Minitas Beach. A multi-screen cinema can also be found at the marina and shows the latest movies.
Sporting activities can be found in abundance, with everything from tennis and soccer to night golf, played in the dark with LED-lit balls. The Casa de Campo kids’ club is one of the best you’ll find, with activities tailored to every age group so you can leave them safe in the knowledge they’ll have a great time.
