Ruswarp Country Escape offers a romantic holiday home for two, situated in the pretty village of Ruswarp, just two-miles from Whitby on the edge of the North York Moors National Park. Beautifully decorated, with pretty views over the countryside, there an air of romance to this holiday home, creating an atmosphere that warms and welcomes you in, so you will never want to leave!
The cottage is modern and stylish throughout, yet maintains a warm atmosphere, that you can fully settle into, making yourself at home. The house sleeps up to two guests, designed for romantic weekends or individual getaways, perfect for couples looking to explore the history and charm of this area. Spread out over two spacious and bright floors, there is plenty of room to spread out and relax.
The layout of the property is somewhat upside down, with the bedroom on the ground floor and the main living areas upstairs, taking command of the best views! The master bedroom offers a beautiful, bright space, looking out onto the garden. With plenty of storage, you can unpack your bags and settle in, swinging open the patio doors to hear birdsong in the mornings and allow the fresh air to blow in. The bathroom is modern, with a bath and shower, perfect for relaxing after a day at the coast.
Upstairs, this country escape really starts to let you unwind, with a fabulous pitched, floor-to-ceiling window at the end of the room, capturing the beautiful countryside. Two large swivel chairs take pride of place by the wood burning fire, so you can enjoy this delightful room with ease, turning from the views to the warm glow of the fire and further round to the social atmosphere of the kitchen. A serene balcony extends the room outside and brings you even closer to the bordering scenery. The kitchen itself is modern and well-equipped, offering everything you might need to cook and dine at home.
At all times of year, this cosy holiday home is perfect to visit. With plenty to see and do in the local area, Ruswarp Country Escape offers a private oasis away from the hustle and bustle of day-to-day life.

About the surrounding area of Ruswarp Country EscapeRuswarp Country Escape offers a romantic holiday home for two, situated in the pretty village of Ruswarp, just two-miles from Whitby on the edge of the North York Moors National Park. Located on a steep hill, leading down to the River Esk, the views in this area are beautiful, perfect for long walks, outdoor activities and picnics in the summer sun. Ruswarp offers classic local shops, including a butcher, grocery store and bakery, as well as a local pub where you can stop off in the afternoon. Whilst there is parking at the property, there are also local bus services that connect the village to the surrounding area.
Within the local vicinity there is plenty to see and do. You can rent rowing boats or canoes to explore the calm waters of the River Esk. For kids, the miniature steam railway in Ruswarp is also very popular, open from May until October for a cheap thrill around the grounds in Ruswarp. The area is very well known among walkers, with the renowned Esk Valley Walk going straight through the village. In fact, you can follow this national hiking trail from Ruswarp, all the way to Whitby, taking in the fantastic views and countryside along the way!
Whitby is a charming seaside town of the east coast of North Yorkshire famous for its vampire legends and impressive whalebone arch. The River Esk splits the town in half, with the majestic Whitby Abbey on the East Cliff, a dazzling Gothic ruin steeped in history and the inspiration for Bram Stoker’s ‘Dracula’, and to the West is West Cliff Beach, with golden sands lined with beach huts. For a challenge, you can climb the 199 steps to the Abbey and the Church of St. Mary. At the top, there are incredible views across the North Sea, and you can stop to watch the brightly coloured fishing vessels on the horizon.

Dalby Forest on the southern tip of the North York Moors is home to the Dalby Activity Centre offering all kinds of activities, a Go Ape high-ropes course, paintballing, and some of the country’s best mountain biking terrain, with bikes for rent from the Dalby Bike Barn. You can also bring your own bikes and simply pay for parking, then head off to explore the trails. You will find plenty of families enjoying picnics, walks and games in the forest!

Well equipped
Very clean and in a beautiful setting. Good walks in the area and an easy walk into Whitby. Local butchers and pub an easy 10 min walk…a very good location. Excellent

We have come back!
We had stayed at the this lovey home a couple of times before, it was nice to go back again. It was still very clean, all that you needed, utensils etc. Set in beautiful grounds, easy access to Whitby, Scarborough and east coast & moorlands.
