The breathtaking Snowdonia National Park covers eight hundred and forty square miles with its purple tipped mountains and lush forests. The park is spectacular and crammed full of outdoor activities including cycling, climbing, horse riding, golfing, bird watching, caving and watersports. It is sprinkled with ancient monuments and museums.

Boots Cottage enjoys a wonderful location in the town of Blaenau Ffestiniog. Once a slate mining centre, it now attracts many tourists for its beauty, charm and character. This former slate capital of the world has become on of North Wales’s most innovative activity centres. It has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The slate that tumbles down its steep mountain slopes is now the province of mountain bikers and zipline riders while the underground caverns are now home to the world’s largest subterranean trampoline and more zipline action. It enjoys a compelling beauty and Snowdonia’s natural and dramatic grandeur.

Llechwedd’s Slate Mountain Adventure offers a truly unique experience through the historical quarry. There are exhilarating ex-military truck rides to the highest peaks and the vast quarries of Maenofferen, Diffwys Casson and others while enjoying breathtaking views of South Snowdonia and Snowdon itself, Moel Siabod, the Moelwyn mountain range and the Irish Sea. You can experience a deep mine tour five hundred feet below ground taking Europe’s steepest cable railway or have a go at slate splitting. You will hear stories of the miners and experience an award-winning light and sound display at the underground lake. Also on site is Bounce Below where you can jump and bounce from net to net in a cathedral size cavern. A trip to the Zip World Caverns takes you through an epic journey through underground caverns on ziplines, rope bridges, via ferrata and tunnels at Zip World Titan. There is also underground adventure golf, thrilling activities.

As well as exploring the Snowdonia National Park during your stay, you may also wish to head for the beautiful Llyn Peninsula, a protected Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There are stunning, idyllic beaches to visit, seaside resorts with an excellent bistro life, pretty coastal hamlets, picturesque harbours and smart marinas. The historic fishing village of Aberdaron was the last stop for pilgrims on the way to Ynys Enlli otherwise known as Bardsey Island, or the ‘Isle of 20000 Saints’ which is now a National Nature Reserve famous for its birdlife. Abersoch is a delightful seaside resort with sailing and watersports, a bistro dining scene, fabulous beaches and a lovely sheltered harbour. Llanbedrog boasts a photogenic line of colourful beach huts and a superb beach. Porthdinllaen is a much loved, much photographed coastal hamlet brimming with quaint houses above a stunning half moon of golden sand. Beside Porthdinllaen is Nefyn with its maritime museum, pretty harbour and a sweeping crescent of sand. Its headland golf course is extremely scenic. Criccieth is a beautiful, elegant seaside resort on Cardigan Bay known as the ‘Pearl of Wales on the Shores of Snowdonia’. This attractive Victorian resort offers fantastic beaches and traditional Welsh charm. The Llyn peninsula’s capital Pwllheli is a very busy seaside resort. It boasts a popular sailing and watersports centre, a fantastic marina, art galleries and excellent shops and restaurants.
