With views over Southwold Common and the fresh Suffolk coastal air blowing in through the windows, Evergreen Escape provides a light, spacious beach retreat for up to ten guests. With comfortable bedrooms and several spots to come together and socialise this delightful, restored townhouse is a great base to explore the British seaside at its best.

On the ground floor there are plenty of spaces, suited to all ages and groups.  A colourful lounge with bright modern sofas and a roaring fireplace offers a chance to catch up with a bottle of wine in comfort and style, whilst an additional drawing room with L-shaped sofa is a perfect space to curl up with a book.  Meanwhile, a PlayStation 4 in the games room will keep a competitive spirit alive for younger members of the family.

A light and airy kitchen benefits from Apex windows pouring light down to the large kitchen island and Aga Range cooker where you can cook up a feast served on the ten-seater dining table.  A dishwasher, washing machine and dryer make everything easy, whilst bed linen and towels are provided in the sleeping accommodation.

The large, airy bedrooms consist of two super-king rooms and two king-size rooms, three of which have en-suite, and the other shares a family bathroom with a further twin room.  A handy shower room on the ground floor makes it easy to clean off sandy feet from the beach.  Decorated in neutral tones the bedrooms feel light and modern, whilst the bathrooms benefit from large walk-in showers or a fantastic free-standing bath.

An additional conservatory downstairs leads to the pretty courtyard garden with plant-filled arches and a large garden dining area where you can enjoy an alfresco meal at the barbecue to fully take advantage of the fresh coastal air.

With on-street parking, secure bike storage and even complimentary entry for two at the local golf club, guests of Evergreen Escape are perfectly placed to get out and enjoy the pretty seaside town of Southwold and the surrounding bike routes and plentiful historic sites to explore.

A small seaside village on the Suffolk Coast, Southwold combines a sandy shingle coastline with a bustling market town with much to see and do.   Clamber to the top of the town’s working lighthouse, operating since 1887, this remarkable landmark is a great place to survey the coastline from its inland location.

The calling card of many a British seaside town is the pier, and Southwold doesn’t disappoint.  Southwold pier has many crafty shops and a wall of crazy mirrors to keep the kids entertained.  An eccentric Under the Pier show offers an array of weird and wonderful coin-operated interactive machines which is well worth a visit and why not finish it off with some chunky fish finger sandwiches at The Boardwalk on the pier or for the best local fish and chips head to Sole Bay’s Fish Company.

Follow the pastel-painted beach huts to the shingle and sand of Southwold Beach, a great spot for pebble-skimming, splashing in the water and taking in the vintage charm of the local beach.  For further coastline exploring why not take a drive to Aldeburgh Beach, one of the most popular on the Suffolk coast, with a host of quirky historic buildings from a Martello Tower, a converted windmill and a Norman church lining the coast.  A history of art and culture is connected with Aldeburgh with Caroline Wiseman’s gallery located right on the beach.

Under an hour’s drive away is Framlington Castle a magnificent 12th century fortress with a fascinating history.  Embark on the 10.5m high Wall Walk that has stood for over 800 years looking down on spectacular views of Framlingham mere.  There is also a workhouse and exhibition to explore, detailing the former residents of the Castle including Mary Tudor, who was proclaimed Queen in 1553 at the Castle itself.

More historic findings can be discovered at Suffolk’s awe-inspiring Anglo Saxon burial site at Sutton Hoo, the subject of Netflix film “The Dig.”  Alongside the site itself you can look out from the 17-metre-high viewing tower, take a stroll through the charming woodland or pay a visit to the High Hall exhibition featuring replicas and original objects found at the site.

We have some fabulous luxury properties waiting just for you. Seaside or countryside – take your pick!

Nature lovers, rejoice! The pristine, breathtaking Suffolk coast is calling your name. Aldeburgh, the coastal town with charm to spare, welcomes you with a shingle beach perfect for salty sea air inhalation, some good old fish and chips and the Aldeburgh Scallop sculpture, a tribute to the legendary composer Benjamin Britten. If you head a little further south, you will stumble upon the oh-so-peaceful village of Orford, complete with a castle on a hill offering panoramic views that will make your heart skip a beat. You can dive into the whimsical wonder of Thorpeness, head to Walberswick where beach huts and sandy shores create a haven for artists and beachcombers or Southwold, a gem with a quirky pier, a stunning beach and the famed Adnams Brewery. These seaside gems offer artsy flair and a delightful dose of coastal bliss.

Right in the beating heart of Suffolk lies Bury St Edmunds, a town so historically loaded it practically whispers tales of the medieval era. Look up, and you will see the majestic St Edmundsbury Cathedral dominating the skyline, a Gothic masterpiece that will make your jaw drop. The Abbey Gardens invite relaxation with colourful flowerbeds and the remains of the once-mighty Bury St Edmunds Abbey. Let us not forget Suffolk's rural charm, sprinkled generously across idyllic villages such as Lavenham. This medieval wool town is a paradise for history buffs, with timber-framed buildings that look like they are straight out of a fairy tale. You can explore the Guildhall and wander through cobbled streets surrounded by boutique shops and quaint tearooms.

For the wild at heart, Thetford Forest is your playground! Cyclists and hikers, get ready for scenic trails winding through dense woodlands and around picturesque lakes. on 24/03/2022

Excellently presented and truly comfortable. Great location, lots of space for 8 people and dog friendly, close to town, the beaches, the brewery and the golf course. No faults at all. We absolutely loved it and would highly recommend this to any one else.
