Walk to Village Romantic

This three-storey home allows guests to live in lakeside luxury incorporating flawless design, floor to ceiling windows and stunning views.  Perched on the water’s edge you and your guests can head straight off the lake from your private jetty and into the hot tub to warm up and relax with a well-deserved glass of fizz amongst the bubbles!  Pad through the decking and outdoor seating area through the property width sliding doors and settle down in front of the wood burning stove in the welcoming living area.  With retro furniture and Ercol chairs the ground floor offers the perfect space for large groups to relax and socialise, with a large dining table, seating 12 adults, for big evening meals.  A thoughtfully designed kitchen has everything you need from the dishwasher to the champagne flutes including a breakfast bar ideal for a morning coffee and catch-up.

Up to the first floor is the master bedroom with en-suite and spectacular balcony overlooking the lake accessed by large sliding doors that allow you to enjoy the morning air from the comfort of your king size bed.  Also on this floor is a twin room with en-suite and a great bunk room with additional truckle bed, the perfect nook for the kids to host a sleepover.  On the top floor you will find a further two king bedrooms with en-suite bathroom.  We particular love the rear bedroom’s en-suite with freestanding bath complete with skylight, a private spot to unwind if the hot tub is too lively!

The Silverlake countryside estate’s coastal location is all about life on the water and Sweetheart House provides every opportunity to enjoy the surrounding natural beauty.  There is something for everyone at the Silverlake activity hub from tennis courts to paddle boarding, whilst those looking to relax and unwind can head for a restorative swim and sauna at the shared pool and spa.  Surrounded by the Dorset heathlands, where in the summer wild ponies roam, the house is within reaching distance of the stunning Jurassic Coastline and its glorious beaches, the perfect spot to enjoy all the county has to offer.

The Silverlake country estate offers luxury accommodation in the peace and calm of the freshwater lakes and sweeping countryside views that surround it.  Rest, revive and recharge at the Hurricane Spa by reclining in the heated infinity pool after enjoying a massage or facial in one of the treatment rooms.  Take in the surrounding beauty of the idyllic lakeside views from the spa’s own private beach or blow off steam in state-of the art gym.

The property’s proximity to the neighbouring lakes means it will be hard to entice yourself away from the water, with kayaks, paddleboards and fishing aplenty.  For those who prefer to stay on dry land why not zip wire over the water instead?  Or grab a bike and take the family off for beautiful bike ride on the wider estate stopping off for a picnic in a tranquil spot whilst nature spotting the local birds and wildlife.
The beautiful county of Dorset is a popular tourist spot, an area known for its rolling dales, protected heathlands and breath-taking UNESCO-heritage Jurassic coastline. The property is within reaching distance of fabulous beaches, including the beautiful shingle Ringsted Bay, which at low tide reveals a wide expanse of sand.  It is the perfect beach for quiet and calm surrounded by neighbouring farmlands.   For those who like to get out and explore the stunning countryside, we recommend a visit to Moreton Forest with a range of tree-filled walks amongst the towering conifers.
A trip to the Smuggler’s Inn, a historic 13th Century pub with unbeatable sea views of the Isle of Portland is an absolute must with an excellent selection of ales to sample and delicious food, the perfect spot for a pitstop after a lovely scenic stroll.

If you’re looking to take in the area’s fascinating history then you won’t be disappointed with the thousand-year-old Corfe Castle, a majestic ruin established by William the Conqueror, just a short drive away.   Fans of Thomas Hardy can visit Dorchester’s Dorset Museum which houses the largest Hardy Collection in the world, bequeathed by his wife Florence.  Just thirty minutes away, is the picturesque town of Poole, here you can hop on a ferry and visit neighbouring islands or soak up the sunrays on the near-by golden beaches at Sandbanks and Bournemouth.  A visit to the colourful Lighthouse Arts Centre offers art exhibitions, theatre and film then why not finish off the day with some locally caught fish and chips on the beach.

Other close-by towns which are well worth a visit include the charming county town of Weymouth with its recognisable Georgian seafront and the lively market towns of Bridport and Lyme Regis. The famous Durdle Door, a natural limestone arch, is just a twenty-minute car journey away and is a must-visit while in the area.

Region

Pack your bags and fasten your seatbelts, as Oliver's Travels is thrilled to present a dazzling array of luxury holiday properties in the enchanting land of Dorset! A captivating county where time seems to stand still, Mother Nature has outdone herself. Dorset, with the rolling hills of the Dorset Downs and the jaw-dropping Jurassic Coast, is a real-life tapestry of postcard-perfect landscapes, historic landmarks and villages oozing charm in lavish abundance.

The Jurassic Coast is not just a coastline, it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Dorset's showstopping features. Stretching an impressive 95 miles from Orcombe Point in East Devon to Old Harry Rocks near Swanage, this coastline presents endless coastal wonders. Dramatic cliffs, hidden coves and beaches boasting ancient fossils, Charmouth and Lyme Regis are the treasure chests for fossil hunters and curious minds alike.

Dorset is also a playground for history buffs, with landmarks like Corfe Castle standing tall and proud. Perched on a hill, this fortress offers far-reaching, breathtaking views. The Cerne Abbas Giant is a colossal chalk figure etched into a hillside near the village of Cerne Abbas, Dorset's own friendly giant, captivating visitors for centuries.

Dorchester, the county town, is a delightful mishmash of Georgian architecture and markets that buzz with life. Thomas Hardy's Cottage, near Dorchester, gives you a peek into the life of the literary legend himself. Bridport, with its bohemian vibes and eclectic street markets, is like the cool kid in the market town crew. Meanwhile, Weymouth's golden sandy beach and bustling harbour are perfect for leisurely strolls and exploring historic Nothe Fort. For a touch of seaside nostalgia, Swanage brings the Victorian pier and a heritage steam railway into the mix.

The Isle of Purbeck is a haven of beauty, featuring Lulworth Cove's sheltered bay and crystal-clear waters. Just around the corner, Durdle Door, a natural limestone arch, sets the stage for coastal walks and views so stunning, they might bring a tear to your eye. For the adventurers among us, the Dorset Downs, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, are calling. Hiking trails such as the South West Coast Path and the Wessex Ridgeway offer a rollercoaster ride through diverse scenery, from cliffs to heathlands.

Dorset's culinary scene is a delightful fusion of tradition and modernity. You will savour local produce at farmers' markets, indulge in fresh seafood along the coast and let the county's pubs and tearooms be your warm and welcoming retreat for traditional cream teas or a sip of local ales.

Dorset is an experience that seamlessly blends history, natural beauty and that quintessential British charm. It promises an adventure that captures the very essence of England's southwest.

Kids

Best Suited For: All Ages
Ideal for Babies & Toddlers Ideal for Xmas/NY

Sweetheart House is a dream holiday home for kids to fall in love with the great outdoors.  Whether they are floating on the lake, splashing in the hot tub or enjoying watching the local wildlife from the private decking there are plenty of opportunities to enjoy the beautiful surroundings.  Inside offers everything kids of any age would need from cosy bedrooms to a charming bunk room, perfect for sleepovers whilst in the living area a flat screen TV and WiFi will allow some time to relax and unwind after a busy day on the open water.

The property possesses a secure position on a gated development with a fun children's playground and tennis courts. There is an 'activity hub' on site where bikes, canoes, kayaks and paddleboards can be borrowed, please note this is subject to availability and so we recommend requesting them at time of booking.  Alongside a children’s playground, little adventurers have endless opportunities to explore from the woodland Island with treeline zipwires and refreshing eco-pool, an excellent spot to toast marshmallows around the campfire. Warm up in the on-site yurt with log-burning fire and neighbouring wood-burning stove where chefs will cook up perfect pizzas to munch on (subject to season.). If you are still hungry check out the Hurricane Terrace Bar for delicious food for all the family, and cocktails for the adults!
With safe, picturesque cycle routes and walks, the estate has something for all ages, we recommend taking part in the Miss Dormouse treasure trail, a family-friendly way to explore the reserve.

The Jurassic Coast offers some of the UK’s most striking shores.  Dinosaur fans will be in heaven with a day trip to Lyme Regis or Charmouth less than an hour’s drive away.  Go on a fossil hunting tour at Charmouth Beach and visit David Attenborough’s sea dragon discovery in the Charmouth Heritage Centre.  Closer to home Dorchester, just a short drive away has its own Dinosaur Museum with life-size reconstructions, beware the T-rex!  If dinosaurs aren’t your thing, then why not take curious kids to the Tutankhamun Exhibition Centre instead offering a display of exquisite reconstructions of the antechamber and all its treasures within.

A trip to Weymouth wouldn’t be complete without a visit to the Sealife centre to take in the sharks, turtles, seals, rays and a thriving Penguin beach with both Humboldt and Fairy penguins.
