Phuket is renowned for its fabulous beaches. The 11km stretch of Khoa Lak Beach is phenomenal. Many of the beaches are backed by lush jungle forest, stunning rock formations and interesting coves. Kata Noi Beach is very popular. It is a small bay, just a short drive from Kata Beach. The scenery is breathtaking and boasts impressive views across to Karon and Kata bays.

Nai Harn Beach is also very popular. With beautiful soft sand and crystal clear water, it is untouched and stunning. There are some bars, restaurants and souvenir shops. Surin Beach is known as ‘Millionaires Row’. It is expensive with high-end cuisine and plenty of rich and famous visitors.

Keen rum drinkers may enjoy a trip to the Chalong Bay Rum Distillery. High-end white rum is produced. You will enjoy a tour of the distillery and then take part in a cocktail workshop.

Phuket’s 45 metres tall Big Buddha is one of the most famous landmarks on the island. It is made from white Burmese marble with sparkles in the sunshine. The Buddha sits on top of the Nakkerd Hills so you will have an amazing panoramic view of the island. You will visit the sound of dharma music and bells. The most important of the Buddhist temples of Phuket is Wat Chalong. It has been open to visitors for over a century. The highlight of your visit will be the Grand Pagoda which is beautifully decorated with Buddha images and pictures that depict his life story.

The Phuket Town Weekend Night Market is known by the locals as Naka Market. You can buy fruits, old curiosities, clothes, food including golden buttered corn on the cob and animals! It is good to arrive late afternoon. Bangla Road closes to traffic as the sun goes down. Touts will try to get you inside the ping pong shows, and tailor shops and beer girls and restaurant owners will compete for your business. The atmosphere is buzzy with plenty of street entertainers.

Karon Viewpoint is the most popular viewpoint on the island. It is just to the south of Kata Noi Beach and looks out over the Andaman Sea in one direction and the three west coast beaches on the other. Other popular viewpoints are Windmill Viewpoint, Monkey Hill Viewpoint and Rang Hill Viewpoint.

Villa Sarojin is ideal for a family holiday. The interconnecting suites include a fabulous private pool. Phuket is family-friendly with a lot of entertainment for children.

At The Phuket, Elephant Sanctuary children will learn why they should never ride an elephant. It is the final home for retired working elephants set on 30 acres of lush tropical jungle. Children will be able to observe how elephants rehabilitate into forest life after decades of abuse and experience how incredible the largest land mammal is during a day at the sanctuary. The gentle giants enjoy their newfound freedom, socialise with each other and bathe freely in the expansive freshwater lagoons. Your visit will leave you inspired and in awe of the majestic animals.

The Phuket Tiger Kingdom hand raises Indochinese tigers in captivity from birth until their final days. The tigers get fed at 19.00 each day, but the park gets very busy, so you may want to visit early. Animal lovers may also enjoy a visit to the Soi Dog Foundation. The foundation sterilises approximately 12,000 animals a year, making the streets and roads safer for everyone. Toh Sae Hill, Monkey Hill is the highest hill in Phuket Town with over 400 macaques living in little groups.

Thrill-seeking children will love the adventures at Flying Hanuman.  There are 16 zip lines running throughout the jungle forest together with 42 platforms, 3 sky bridges, 3 abseil points, 3 spiral stairways, 1 sky rail, 1 dual zipline and a wilderness walk. Children aged 4 and above can take part.

The Phuket Fantasea Show is a 140 acre complex with masses of entertainment including a Las Vegas-style theatre show that showcases the best of Thailand’s myths and mysteries, a carnival village, a fantastic restaurant, shopping complex and handicrafts.

The Phuket Trickeye Museum is an interactive museum that stimulates your imagination and creativity. Visitors become part of the 3D art. It is great fun.
