Casa Paloma is a stunning home nestled in the renowned Cala d’ Or region, blending traditional architecture with contemporary finishes and beautiful outdoor living potential.

This home is infused with a sense of local charm; a traditional two storey home full of natural light. Its pretty white-washed facade with green wooden shutters, together with a flat roof and curved external wall to the living space offers a hint at Moorish architecture.

The outdoor spaces are sublime; with a beautiful private pool, guests can take advantage of the poolside patio offering a veritable sun trap. With loungers scattered to its side, relaxing with a good book or a fresh cocktail under the shade of the swaying palm trees will be as good as it gets!

There is a shaded dining area beneath sloping roofed veranda/ porch area which is ideal for al fresco meals, whether this is morning fresh coffee and local fresh bread, or grilled fish and local wine in the evening, making use to the built-in brick barbecue.

The pièce de resistance has to be the rooftop lounge: this provides a very adult, sophisticated space for evening drinks and relaxation, beneath the stars, with views across woodland and tropical foliage. Sumptuous outdoor furnishings make this a delightful and comfortable spot to unwind at the end of a day at the beach.

The interiors at Casa Paloma are simple, sleek and understated. The living space offers a light and fresh decor; neutral, soft greys and creams and ample lounge furniture provide the ideal environment for downtime. With soft and ambient lighting, the option to unwind of an evening is very inviting. Touches are a character is evident, by way of artwork and accents of azure blue across soft furnishings.

The dining space is simple, elegant and chic - with solid wood furnishing and quality finishes, guests will enjoy relaxed family or group meals. The kitchen is well equipped, offers generous proportions, ample natural light and top range appliances.

All the modern conveniences are present, including satellite television, DVD player, wifi and a safe for valuables.

Casa Paloma accommodates eight guests across three bedrooms (or, six adults, with two children using the sofa bed.) The bedrooms are designed to be tranquil, calm and restorative, with neutral and fresh tones, they provide comfortable beds, quality cotton bed linen and thick fluffy towels.

The first floor offers a self-contained second kitchen-living space, meaning either couples or an extended family travelling with au pair or grandparents, have the option of private living quarters. This is ideal for having children’s meals prepared ahead of adult evening time which make take place later in the evening, or when members of the party wish for some independent time.

There is a patch of lawn space, vibrant plant life and private parking within the safe grounds of this home.

The pretty sandy beach, Cala Esmeralda is circa five minutes walk from Cala Paloma. All amenities, shops, bars and restaurants are a short walk away, either in Cala d’Or or Cala Ferrera.

Cala d’Or is today a smart and refined resort town; it is located about sixty kilometres east of the airport and Palma city.

Formerly, Cala d’Or was a traditional, small, Mallorca finishing village which has over the years expanded. The town is nestled alongside a series of coves, the largest of which is called Cala Llonga, which has been developed into a large marina which splits the city into two.

The town centre offers a pretty and vibrant pedestrianised shopping zone, with a good selection of eateries and bars.

The beach at Cala Gran is the largest in town; sun loungers, parasols and pedaloes can be hired at the beach. There are also ample other beaches in the region further afield which are worth exploring.

Water sports and beach life are very much central to Majorca.  

Cycling is a significant part of the tourism trade in this part of Majorca - it has become a central hub for those wanting to make the most of the diverse array of northern routes and rugged, beautiful scenery. With safe, yet challenging, mountain roads and year-round temperate weather, cycling enthusiasts will find themselves among a like-minded biking community.

Hiking is likewise very much a draw for visitors to the region; an exceptionally beautiful hike being the route to the former monastery Lluc, situated in the Tramuntana mountains - along yet wonderfully rewarding path offering unspoilt views of luscious nature.

Golfers will be very much at home with an array of golf courses to select from.

Whether it be pilates, or paddle boarding, kite surfing or chartering a private boat to explore hidden corners of the coastline, the opportunities for sports and activities at all levels are endless.

Not so much known for its nightlife, this corner of Mallorca is very much a family-friendly destination, however many of the restaurants offer live music and party nights. The range of eateries is diverse, while all ages will be welcome in restaurants.

Cala d’Or is a natural family destination, with gentle bays ideal for hours of castle building and splashing in the safe, shallow waters, family-friendly restaurants and promenades. From pony rides to gentle treks, there is something for all ages in this part of Mallorca.

Mallorcans adore children; from playgrounds to child-friendly restaurants, children will not only be welcome but will be actively fussed over! Many restaurants offer inexpensive children’s menus - simple grilled meats, fries, spaghetti, and tortillas, not to mention ice cream! While those with more adventurous tastes may enjoy the local pa ambient oli - bread rubbed with olive oil, tomatoes and a variety of toppings.
