Picture this, you are sipping on a Spanish red as family and friends chatter, and the sun kisses your skin as you sit by a private pool. Beginning your day on the terrace, fresh orange juice in hand, as you look out over the sweeping views. And ending it by cooking up a feast on the outdoor barbecue. Bliss, right? It's this all-day enviable vacation life that makes Villa Alaia the idyllic spot to escape to the Spanish sun.                           

This relaxed, blissful nature is obvious in the layout of the home as it is spread over two levels with a large living room and six varying bedrooms. The open-plan living/dining room creates an inclusive, luxuriating atmosphere whether you are dining or relaxing on the couch. And if you want time all together watching television in the lounge, that has enough couch space for everyone on vital holiday movie nights. The kitchen is equipped with all of the essentials and a smaller breakfast table where you can start the day with a cup of coffee.

The bedrooms in this villa are all bright and airy, with three on the ground floor and another three on the first floor, all a mix of doubles or singles. Thankfully there are enough bathrooms to save arguments and long waits with three bathrooms, including standalone showers and bathtubs. One of the first-floor bedrooms even has access to a terrace where you can wake up and walk out to views of the sea, which is across the road! There really is space for the whole clan at this villa.

This spacious feel flows to the outdoors with a covered patio complete with two dining tables and a pool with loungers for those keen sunbathers. The garden is gravel and lined with trees for some much-needed shade from the afternoon sun, and there is an outdoor barbecue area where the chefs of the family can whip up a delicious meal! All of this is situated in a residential beach area, just a short walk from the beach and the town of Moraira, and close to restaurants, bars, and shops.

  • This villa is spread over two stories, so elderly or very young visitors may need a little extra help getting around and children should be supervised at all times
  • Althought there is air conditioning at Villa Alaia, it is not in every room, but there are ceiling fans to keep the air flowing

Located along the Costa Blanca strip of the Mediterranean, Moraira is a calming beach town with beautiful beaches, a marina and streets with excellent restaurants, bars and shops. A personal favourite of ours is Restaurante El Chamizo, which is right on the seafront and only a 5-minute walk from Villa Alaia! While the town has grown from a small fishing village into a popular holiday resort, it has retained the charm of a relaxing town.

Moraira has an ideal and typical Mediterranean climate. Cool sea breezes give much-needed respite on hot summer days, and the surrounding mountains offer shelter against any cold winds coming from the North in the winter. However, the area is rarely without sun all year round, as the area averages 3,000 hours of sunshine each year. No surprise, this weather has been named one of the most equitable in the world by the World Health Organisation in 1986.

The two closest sandy beaches both have EEC Blue Flags for cleanliness and are safe for family bathing. So, while the kids paddle and swim, parents can watch from shore, comfortable that the children are safe. If you want to roam further afield, there are plenty of day excursion options within driving distance, such as Javea, Calpe, Denia, Altea and Benidorm, which are all within a 40-minute drive from the property and have plenty to do along with some stunning beaches to enjoy.

Kids will love the freedom they have in this home, and parents will enjoy that just as much!

Of course, the private pool will be a hit with the children, and they can easily play together there whilst the adults keep an eye on them from the table under the terrace. If the kids start to get cabin fever, there are options in Moraira to keep them entertained, such as tennis courts, football, water sports, boat hire, go-kart racing, horse-riding and a small fairground - which is fun whether you are a kid or a big kid at heart. Equally as entertaining for all ages is the 18th-century fortress that is right by the shore and a symbol of the town.

There are also day excursions in the area for the whole family, including the Vergel Safari Park, which is near Denia and just a 40-minute drive from Moraira. Kids will also enjoy plenty of activities in the town of Benidorm and even further on down the coast in the city of Alicante.

Terms & Conditions

These terms and conditions may be amended from time to time.

Security deposit Credit card details are required 2 weeks prior to departure for pre-authorisation.
Arrival time 4-7 pm. Please enquire if you wish to arrive at a different time.
Departure time 10 am.
Energy costs included? Yes, included in the rental price.
Heating costs included? Yes, included in the rental price.
Linen & towels included? Yes, included in the rental price.
Pool towels included? Yes, included in the rental price.
Beach towels are an extra €5 per towel, paid locally. Please request these during the booking process.
End of stay cleaning included? Extra €235, payable to Oliver's Travels with the balance payment. However, guests are required to leave the accommodation clean, tidy and in the same condition as on their arrival. Any extra cleaning, laundry, maintenance and/or rubbish disposal required will be charged against the security deposit.
Internet access? Wi-Fi internet access included in the rental price.
Minimum stay 7 nights during peak season. 4 nights during other periods.
Changeover day Satuday during peak season. Flexible during other periods.
Pets welcome? On request only and with prior agreement with the owner. If accepted, a pet supplement of €50 per pet will apply (paid to OT prior to travel). Please request this during the booking process.
Smoking Allowed? Smoking not permitted.
Pool heating charge? Not available.
Tax Tourist Tax included in the rental price.
Insurance Guests are required to be in possession of a valid insurance policy, which covers them for cancellations, loss of personal belongings, personal liability and any accidental damage caused during their stay.
Other Ts and Cs Extras available in this property on request, and at an additional charge, are:

Other Ts and Cs Guests are asked to please be mindful of their noise levels, especially during the night, as this property is located in a residential neighbourhood. Additionally, please note that groups of young people up to 25 years old are not permitted.
