Situated right at the heart of the stunning Portes du Soleil ski area, the town of Morzine boasts majestic mountain vistas and plenty of old-world charm. The vast Portes du Soleil area encompasses twelve interconnected ski resorts, where skiers and snowboarders can spend sunny afternoons roaming between Morzine, Châtel and Switzerland, with over 600km of slopes to suit all levels of experience.
The departure point of the Téléphérique de Nyon can be found opposite Apartment Prince, offering access to the Nyon ski area, Morzine and beyond. From the top of the Pointe de Nyon chairlift, confident skiers can make their way down to Le Pas de l'Aigle, a ten-metre long glass bridge and viewing platform embraced by the mountain's edge. The panoramic vistas from the bridge stretch from Lake Geneva to Mont Blanc and offer a truly breathtaking experience, while the views down into the valley through the glass floor will satisfy even the keenest of adrenaline-seekers!
For young families, there are nursery slopes available in the centre of Morzine, while intermediate and advanced skiers can make the most of a variety of exciting blue and red runs. The Lil’Stash is an eco-friendly snow park in nearby Avoriaz, nestled within the magical Proclou forest. With enchanting huts tucked away in the treetops, suspension bridges, adventure trails, sculptures and much more, this is the perfect place to spend a sunny afternoon exploring. You may even spot Shreddie, the friendly yeti who lives in the park! If you wish to combine your visit with some time on the slopes, the Proclou green slope is a wide piste for beginners, with a family-friendly area arranged on one side.
