Set within a private complex at the Praia del Rey Golf and Beach Resort on the gorgeous Silver Coast, Villa Arabela is a luxuriously comfortable holiday home that boasts stunning sea views.

The villa’s décor is cool and contemporary, with white, slate grey and sea-inspired shades reflecting its proximity to the beach. The highest attention to detail is shown throughout the fixtures and fittings, with this extending to the outside space with its modern, functional design.

To the ground floor is a bright open plan living/dining space. The lounge area features a lovely corner sofa which is ideal for snuggling up with the whole family on and watching a film in the evenings. Large patio doors lead out onto a partially-covered terrace with a dining table that seats up to eight people. Sharing the open plan space with the lounge is a dining area with another table that seats up to eight people. It also has patio doors allowing access to the outside space, and the kitchen flows on through an open doorway. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need for preparing and cooking meals, as well as a coffee machine for helping to kick start mornings or wind down evenings. Also on this floor are two bedrooms. Both have twin beds, an ensuite bathroom with shower and doors to the outside space. On the first floor is the third bedroom, which features a double bed, ensuite bathroom with shower and patio doors that open onto a lovely terrace.

Within the outside space is a private swimming pool with a selection of loungers that give you the chance to relax with a pre-dinner drink while soaking up the surroundings. Along with the outdoor dining area, a portable barbecue allows you to try your hand at grilling some local fish or seafood for a delicious al fresco dinner. Some lawned areas are ideal for the children to kick a ball around - when they’re not playing in the pool!

You don’t have to be a golf lover to appreciate the location of Villa Arabela within the Praia del Rey Golf and Beach Resort. All the facilities are available for an extra cost, including a communal swimming pool, spa, gym, tennis court and clubhouse with café-bar. You can also get relaxing massages and hire bikes to take out for the day.

Praia d’El Rei Beach is just a 10-minute walk from the villa. With long stretches of sand, beautiful dunes and clear waters, it’s a picturesque spot to enjoy an afternoon. There’s also a large freshwater pond where birds like to gather. The waves tend to be quite strong here, making the sea mostly unsuitable for swimming. But you have your very own pool back at the villa to enjoy splashing about in.

The medieval town of Óbidos is around 25 minutes away and is one of the most attractive towns in the whole of Portugal. At its historic centre are fortified walls where you’ll find a maze of winding streets and a beautiful castle. Walk around the walls themselves for spectacular views down over the town and the pretty whitewashed houses with their terracotta roofs.

Also be sure to visit Porta da Vila, which was once the main gate into the town and which has been preserved to retain its beautiful features, such as the traditional Azulejo tiles on the walls. The 12th-century Igreja de Santa Maria church is another must-visit site, with an impressive interior that features even more of the famous Portuguese blue and white tiles.

Children of all ages will love staying at Villa Arabela. The swimming pool will be a particular hit with everyone, and the rest of the garden offers plenty of spots to play or chill out. They’ll also love having the beach within walking distance.

Sportagua in the town of Peniche is around 16 km away from the villa and is a fantastic water park for the whole family to enjoy a day out at. There’s a good selection of exciting slides and pools, with plenty of areas to have a picnic when it’s time to stop for lunch. Should you prefer, there’s also a café that sells snacks and drinks. The park doesn’t just cater for children either, as there are two slides designed especially for adults!
