Pool Villa/House Modern Beach Nearby

A stunning seaview villa for up to 12 guests, Villa Dilma is located around 11km from Cascais, within the magnificent Sintra-Cascais Natural Park. Just a short drive from Guincho beach and the unmissable city of Sintra, this modern villa enjoys quiet surroundings and has its own private, heated swimming pool.

The expansive outdoor area enjoys a magnificent Atlantic backdrop, with comfortable sun loungers positioned around the 12m x 5m pool. Several attractive seating areas and a barbecue and dining area can also be found here, with trees surrounding the gardens adding an extra element of privacy.

Inside, an open-plan living and dining area is situated on the ground floor. With glass doors giving a view of the pool and terrace, this area offers lots of seating as well as television and a dining space. It connects to the fully fitted kitchen where you have all the equipment you could need, as well as an island and breakfast bar.

A twin bedroom with en suite bathroom is also on the ground floor, while the master suite is upstairs – it has a bath tub and shower, and a terrace with sea views. Another twin suite and a double suite are located on the lower ground floor, along with extra beds for two guests. A private suite is located in the house beside the pool, too.

Villa Dilma’s location puts some of the most beautiful spots on the Lisbon Coast within reach. Cascais itself is a chilled-out coastal town well worth a look, while 20 minutes’ drive north, Sintra will impress with its elaborate palaces and forested Pena Park. At just 35 minutes west of the capital, Cascais is a great base for trips to Lisbon’s many attractions, including many fine museums and the impressive Castelo de São Jorge.

Hugely popular with visitors, Cascais is around 35 minutes’ drive from Lisbon, just outside the expansive Sintra-Cascais Natural Park which runs down Portugal’s most westerly fringe. Once a small fishing village, it’s now a major resort with the facilities to match, but it hasn’t lost its charm or a sense of its history – you can still see why it was the place to be for the Portuguese nobility of the 1800s.

With none of the hilliness of the capital, a day spent in Cascais is an easy-going affair. One of its key attractions is the opulent Castro Guimares Museum, featuring artefacts of Portuguese history dating back many centuries. The museum sits in the pretty Jardim Marechal Carmona gardens, and its brightly coloured, decorative facade means you are unlikely to miss it.

The Praia da Ribiera is just one of many fine beaches in the area, and centrally located. The walk to the impressive Boca do Inferno cliffs is a popular one and scenic too, while the marina area provides another pleasant spot to while away some time with a drink or two.
Around 4km north of Cascais, Estoril is a sophisticated spot famed for both its motorsport racetrack and its centrepiece casino – said to have provided Ian Fleming with the inspiration for a certain James Bond, no less. It lacks the heritage of Cascais, but if you fancy a night at the roulette wheel, or a day at the steering wheel, it’s the place to go.

Sintra, on the other hand, is not lacking in history, and punches above its weight when it comes to intriguing architecture. From the romantic Palacio da Pena with its whimsical details to the arabesque Palacio de Monserrate and gothic Palacio Nacional, it’s worth arranging an organised tour to learn about these sights in more detail. You certainly won’t run out of things to see in a hurry – and if you need a break from it all, the wonderful Guincho beach or landmark Cabo da Roca provide excellent chill-out locations.

THE REGION

A coastal town just 20 miles west of Lisbon, Cascais was once a small fishing village, but its idyllic scenery attracted the attention of artists, writers and expelled European nobility in the 20th century. Today, it still attracts high society, but all society comes into force to enjoy the gorgeous beaches and adventure options like sailing and surfing.

Cascais also sits just west of Lisbon and right on the edge of the Sintra-Cascais Natural Park, meaning there are ample opportunities for exciting day trips. When you’re not off an excursion up the coast, you’ll find Cascais has plenty of its own allures. Take your pick of gorgeous sandy coves, wander around culture-packed art centres, book a surfing lesson or sit down to dine on some of the best food in the region.

ABOUT THE LISBON COAST

The Lisbon Coast is a sensational stretch of golden beaches, wave-lashed cliffs and vibrant seaside towns – but there's more to the Atlantic coastline than that. Delve beneath the surface to discover hidden coves, family-owned seafood restaurants and pristine natural parks.

The coast around Lisbon provides an easy, breezy escape from the capital, whose proximity has made it the stomping ground of kings for the last 1,000 years. In summer, Lisboistas stream into elegant Comporta and Cascais to escape the heat of the city; year-round, surfers hang loose on the coast, waiting for the rollers to crash down on the sand.

But while you're enjoying one of our fantastic villas in Lisbon Coast, you may well want to take some time out from all that sun worship to explore everything else the region has to offer – so we've put together this handy travel guide to give you a little help and inspiration!

For a day out you will all enjoy, Lisbon is packed with attractions – the magnificent Oceanarium or Lisbon Zoo will be a great starting point.

  • Faultless!

    on 12/09/2022

Villa Dilma is a great property - we had a fantastic holiday there. Brilliant value for the size of it!
Amazing service - the team at Oliver's Travels are fantastic!

  • Lovely week at Villa Dilma

    on 09/06/2021

The villa is a little tired not the white beds shown in the picture.

But the villa location made up for it. The cleaners were super helpful and so was Paublo villa manager at helping us sort any problems.

We would love to stay again.

  • Very pleasant stay in a beautiful and comfortable house

    on 09/08/2020

We came as 2 families with 6 children. We had a very pleasant stay (too short !!!!). The house has a beautiful view. The rooms and bedding are very comfortable. The pool was not heated but the temperature was sufficient in August. Check in and out without problems. The small negative points: - No towel rack in the bathrooms (on 1 radiator) - Stale smell in the 3 rooms downstairs - no parasol - no wifi relay for the room apart But it was accessory: we will return with pleasure!

  • Simply awesome!

    on 09/03/2020

The villa is just gorgeous! The rooms and the view are just breathtaking. We stayed in the villa from Tuesday to Sunday and never wanted to leave. Everything went smoothly and super. The booking, the communication with Fewo-direkt and the gentleman who is responsible for the on-site support - a big praise to him. He was very helpful and nice and there was a problem in the villa, which he immediately called a repairman and fixed. I can only recommend this villa! You will not regret it. I would even put my hand in the fire for that.

  • Awesome

    on 03/09/2018

The setting and view are incredible and we enjoyed our week very much. We had four couples and there was plenty of space for all. Management was responsive when we needed help using the convection cooktop - the trick is to use the special pans. The vehicle access is a little tight on a steep driveway, but we were able to maneuver and park 4 cars inside the gate. There were several items that needed repair - none so bad that it ruined our stay, but they were somewhat disappointing: pool deck has nails coming loose and we were advised to not walk on it without shoes, pool tiles are popping off, jetted bath tubs don’t work. Could not get stereo system to play our music. Management said these were going to be fixed.

  • The most beautiful view! Fantastic weather! Gorgeous Garden & Grounds

    on 09/03/2018

We had a wonderful time - the house is beautiful - we were 5 girls so each had our own room. I think we would also have been comfortable had we taken our husbands ie a party of 10. Barbeque was great.House has so many little / big seating areas and the garden is much bigger than you realise as it goes down the mountain side. There is also some rosemary and a peach tree in the garden too. House is a little bit tired and in need of a bit of TLC on the deck & pool tiles which I am sure will be maintained during the winter. The local Spa shop has everything you need and is a 5 minute drive. Best beach we feel was Prai D'Agrais....like a mini Durtle Door. Also has a little restaurant - but it is a steep drive down. The driveway is steep and if your rental car isn't great it can be a bit harrowing - we parked just in front of the gate as we felt safer that way. I would highly recommend this place and would definitely go back again.
