What Oliver loves…
- Parents with young children can truly relax; the pool area is fenced off! The gardens are luscious and very child friendly - and older children will enjoy table tennis
- The outdoor spaces have the final word in Portuguese al fresco living; surrounded by poplar and olive trees, the air is fragrant with blossom, whilst the traditional stone barbecue and elegant eating areas will make dining a pleasure
- The interiors here are to-die-for; wonderful splashes of ochre and mustard in keeping with the local style, whilst subtly modernised to the utmost comfort of the guests
- This villa offers enormous group potential; whether it be two families together or simply a large adult group or couples, the villa offers large scale dining options, ample outdoor space (including outdoor shower) and plenty of beds and bathrooms

Villa Kyania is a traditional, ‘farmhouse’ style villa in Vilamoura, on the Algarve; sympathetically restored with subtle, understated style while retaining much of its rustic charm.
Nestled in its lush gardens and grounds in the rolling countryside between Faro and Loule, this is a stunning ‘home from home’ which boasts its pool. The villa has a wonderfully open, lateral layout and is surprisingly spacious, accommodating up to twelve across five bedrooms.
Pulling up into the beautiful tree-lined avenue, this holiday home casts an impressive silhouette, its mustard tones and grand facade very much in keeping with the spirit of the locality.
The interiors are finished with a clean taste, with splashes of opulent design flair, beautiful solid wood furnishings and chandelier lighting, along many of the original features such as exposed timber, large open fireplaces, ochre tones and farmhouse style kitchen.
Guests will immediately relax within this roomy style haven, so tranquil, so subtly finished - it combines modern rustic style with accents of luxe.
There is a beautiful “flow” through the villa; the gorgeous open plan living space offers a large solid wood dining table as well as chic mustard toned fireside seating and comfortable sofa.
The vast open fireplace with original stone, tiles and sloping ceiling retain the country feel. Stunningly bright, neutral tones with splashes of ochre, interiors enthusiasts will be impressed.
The vast family kitchen in traditional colours has a large central island and is flooded with natural light, and leads directly onto the outdoor terrace area.
Ideal for large groups, a couple of families or a large family - this villa is roomy, airy, and the thick, ancient walls keep it cool and fresh in the summer months while being warm and cosy in the winter. Aside from the open plan living space, there is a further ‘snug’ with beautiful, comfortable fabrics and soft upholstery.
The bedrooms are every bit in keeping with the style of the villa; simple yet elegant, they boast neutral tones, clean lines, excellent light, traditional wooden shutters and sumptuous crisp white bedlinen.
There are two bedrooms with double beds, two bedrooms that can be used as either double rooms or twin beds, and a further suite with twin beds. Three bathrooms are shared among these rooms, as well as an additional separate WC.
The outdoor spaces set this villa apart, with tranquil cloistered veranda ideal for al fresco dining, to poolside table and chairs for evening drinks and nibbles to the traditional courtyard family dining space, guests will indeed enter the spirit of southern Portuguese living.
Wonderful verdant gardens with tropical foliage and palm trees look out onto stretches of open, rugged countryside. Every little detail has been considered with this charming villa, television and DVD player will provide that outlet for downtime for children in the group, Wi-Fi, air conditioning and all the modern touches are present.

Vilamoura, in the Algarve region of Portugal, is rich in opportunity for visitors. At just thirty-five kilometres from Faro airport and a mere three kilometres from the closest supermarkets, this home is incredibly convenient for those seeking comfort and ease. Golf enthusiasts, fans of water sports and nature lovers will all be in paradise in this corner of Portugal.
Vilamoura itself is known for its large marina and golf courses. For history buffs, the Cerro da Vila archaeological museum has a ruined Roman villa with bathhouses and mosaics. Red cliffs line Falesia beach, which stretches west to the fishing village Olhos de Agua.
Venturing a little further, Albufeira is worth a day trip. Albufeira is the liveliest and busiest town on Portugal’s beautiful southern Algarve coastline. Previously a modest fishing village, it is now a well known coastal town brimming with holiday potential.
Traditional charm by way of original Moorish flair, the ‘Old Town’ offers a little taste of historical and sleepy small-town authenticity. A stone’s throw from the quiet white-washed streets you will find the dynamic and edgy “Strip” for a buzzing nightlife experience.
Old fortress remnants dating from Roman times and historical charm nestle alongside contemporary, sleek bars and restaurants. Both the beaches and pleasant climate are what draw visitors back year after year.
The marina in Albufeira is unmissable with its candy-coloured apartments. Found on the western outskirts of the town, this is an ideal spot to while away an afternoon with ice cream or cold drink, watching the boats go by.
The beach at Albufeira, as well as others along the coastline, are second-to-none. Whether it be long, lazy days on the loungers or taking advantage of the many water sports including deep sea fishing, windsurfing, diving or dolphin watching, the region is rich with natural beauty.
There is something for everyone in the Vilamoura region. Golf players or those who love watersports won’t be disappointed, while culinary enthusiasts can take advantage of the many restaurants offering fresh seafood and other delights.
For those who wish to venture further afield, day trips to Silves, Faro and Loule are worth considering. Boat and coastal tours offer a leisurely pace for exploring.
Whether it be pretty historic streets and traditional plazas, a business golfing trip or nightlife hedonism, this corner of Southern Portugal has it covered.
Restaurants & Shops
Vilamoura has been a glamorous town ever since Roman time. Its rich history is still palpable as you walk its streets, coming upon Roman Baths and ancient murals all around town. These days, Vilamoura is still a high-class destination although it has certainly kept up with the times. Yachts dock at the large marina and travellers galavant the seaside strip hopping between bars, restaurants and the dazzling casino. The local championship courses naturally attract a crowd of golf enthusiasts as well, and there is a large selection of other sports to enjoy in the area (including those best played out in the water). There is certainly no need to ever be bored in Vilamoura, but if it’s ultimate relaxation you’re after you won’t be disappointed. The town is alluringly close to Praia da Marina and Praia de Falesia, where the golden sand and hot Mediterranean sun is just about never-ending.
ABOUT THE ALGARVE
Though most people tend to see the Algarve as all about the beaches and a holiday on the Med, there’s far much more to it than that.
But while you’re enjoying one of our fantastic villas in Algarve, you may well want to take some time out from all that sun worship to explore everything else the region has to offer – so we’ve put together this handy travel guide to give you a little help and inspiration!
Children of all ages can take advantage of an extremely child-friendly house as well as a phenomenal range of activities on offer nearby. From the gated pool to the table tennis; from the well-considered twin bedrooms to the lateral layout - this house is ideal for families.
The villa itself is safe and spacious; the decor is relaxed and home-like. With cold, quiet bedrooms complete with air-con for those afternoon naps, to the breakfast table in the family living space for those post swim hunger pangs, Villa Kyania is very practical.
The large kitchen offers an ample fridge, and the supermarkets are a stone’s throw away, doing catering for youngsters easy. Secure and airy, there are no stairs, so tumbles and stair-gates needn’t be a worry.
Lovely lawns provide space for picnics, running around or kicking a ball. Hours worth of fun can be had with inflatables, and the patio table area offers easy access for tasty poolside snacks. The barbecue is also a winner for older children, not forgetting the TV and DVD for downtime when needed after an activity packed day.
Water sports are plentiful locally, as are water parks (Zoomarine and Aqualand, to name a few) which are worth making a day trip for. With circa twenty sandy beaches, and an array of family-friendly restaurants locally, not to mention English language television channel back at the house, this lovely part of the Algarve and comfortable home is ideal for children of all ages.
