This architect-designed villa is nestled in nature, surrounded by ancient olive groves, in the verdant Greek countryside, just ten minutes from the nearest hot spot resort, and soft sandy beaches of the island. The one-storey, one hundred square metres, detached villa is constructed out of classic Mediterranean white-washed walls, surrounded by high fencing, and tall trees for privacy, security, and seclusion.
Villa Truffle has two spacious double bedrooms, which can comfortably accommodate up to six guests, ideal for a family holiday, or a group of friends’ get-together. The villa comes complete with all the mod cons, including complimentary air conditioning and Wi-Fi throughout, your own swimming pool with a built-in Jacuzzi, and private parking. The interiors have been designed to the highest specification, elegantly furnished with contemporary pieces, and decorated in a sophisticated palette of crisp whites, cool greys, and soft beiges.
Enter the villa to discover a light and airy open-plan living space, with parquet wood floors, and tall beamed ceilings. The seating area has a smart grey double sofa bed, coffee table, a flat-screen satellite television, and an enclosed, wood-burning fire for those cooler months and evenings. The adjacent six-seater dining set is ideal for some impressive indoor entertaining. A stainless steel and pale grey kitchen is fully equipped with all the latest appliances that you will need to cater for your holiday. There are two simply-appointed pool view bedrooms, one with a double bed, and the other with twin beds. The shared bathroom has a bathtub, basin, and WC, and those must-have complimentary toiletries. The second bathroom is located outdoors, with access to the pool terrace, with a walk-in shower, hand basin, and WC.
The stunning tiled terrace is an outdoor living space, with a huge step-entry swimming pool with an integral Jacuzzi, taking pride of place. The pool is surrounded by modern mesh sun loungers, handy side tables, and shady parasols. After a few lengths or an afternoon dip, cool off under the outdoor shower. Meet for morning coffee and sundowner cocktails at the rattan soft seating spot, strategically positioned under the shady veranda. Catch some rays on the well-manicured lawn in the summer sunshine, as you relax with this year’s best seller. As dusk falls, meet on the terrace and feast alfresco under the pergola-covered six-seater dining set, with dishes prepared in the outside mini kitchen, and freshly grilled on the built-in barbeque. Take a stroll to the traditional village of Pantokratos, with its old stone churches, and welcoming cafes and bars. Whilst minimarts with provisions for your holiday, are a short drive away.
The villa is perfectly positioned near the busy resort town of Laganas, and the quiet secluded spot of Kalamaki rated one of the best beaches on the island. Laganas is famous for its seafront shops, bars and restaurants, bike and boat hire, sandy shores and water sports, thermal springs and nesting turtles, and lively nightlife. A fifteen-minute drive will take you to the holiday hot spot of Tsilivi, with banks and supermarkets, cafes, bars, and restaurants, and a beautiful sandy beach. Have fun on the pedaloes, take to the water on jet skis, and the air with a spot of parasailing. Feel the beat at Zante’s famous Pure Beach Club, party all day to the vibes from their state-of-the-art sound system, and discover the delights of a Champagne Spray. Go north to the unique Navagio beach, with a shipwreck on shore, and accessible only by sea.
The main town of Zante is ten kilometres away, visit the Byzantine Museum, the church of Agios Markos with its imposing belfry, and the impressive church of St Dionysus, the patron saint of the island. Go on a guided walking tour from Solomos Square, and be impressed by the historic Venetian architecture. Shop in the souvenir stores, and sip an ouzo in a Greek music bouzouki bar, as you watch the world go by. Take to the water with a catamaran tour around the coastline, join a day trip from Zante harbour, or hire your own private yacht complete with a captain. The island is renowned for its excellent hiking, trek the local countryside to discover nature’s flora and fauna. Southwest of the island is Keri Lake, a village that combines the sea, forests, valleys, and streams, and is abundantly rich in agriculture. Walk through the scented pine forests, pick grapes and olives in season, be amazed at the bouquet of natural wildflowers, take a boat trip to the Keri Caves, and then dine by the waterside.
The picture-perfect village of Bochali has an ancient Venetian castle with stunning sea, coast, and town views, and a tiny church, charmingly named Zoodos Pigi with beautiful Byzantine icons. Make sure you take a tour of one of the many vineyards and olive groves across the island, sample the nectar, and take a bottle or two home with you. You may be there for the Zante Carnival, inspired by the island’s Venetian heritage, the festival starts with drinking and dancing, and ends with eating cheese – need we say more!

As evening nears, the town is a mecca for locals and visitors alike looking for vibrant bars and nightlife.
Head to the rugged north of Zakynthos for a wealth of hidden pebbled coves, picture-perfect swimming spots, the incredible Blue Caves and popular Navagio Beach (also known as Shipwreck Beach). The nearest beach is at the fun in the sun, family-friendly, holiday resort of Laganas, with lots of activities including a mini golf course, and an organised beach with crystal clear waters that are perfect for swimming and snorkelling.
The famous loggerhead turtles also have a home there, and you may be lucky enough to witness their hatching season and visit the protection centre. Kalamaki is much more peaceful and rated as one of the best beaches on the island, ideal for adults to relax, and children to swim in the cool, calm waters. Whilst nearby Agios Sostis beach is noted for its transparent turquoise blue sea, with a wooden pier that connects it to an islet, which your children will love visiting.
Tsilivi Water Park is an aquatic paradise, slip down slides, swim in its many pools dedicated to different age groups, climb the rigging of a pirate ship, and explore the water jungle. For your older children, experience the ultimate adrenalin rush with the Turbolance, the quadruple Multislide, the Blackhole, and the Spacehole. For something a little gentler, your kids may prefer water rafting or drifting down the lazy river. The Water Village Zante at Sarakinado, has towering slides, a lazy river, a jacuzzi and child-friendly splash pools for your younger children.
Caretta Fun Park in the south of the island has its share of pools and slides, and in the evening a whole new magical world comes to life, with trampolines, bouncy castles, go-carts, cinemas, and games. A family fun evening can be had at Bowl’m Over, a fifties diner with a four-lane bowling alley, pool tables and air hockey, with snacks served on retro sofas and swing chairs. Get them active with nature trails across the island, horse riding through forests and sandy dunes, snorkelling and scuba diving around Navagio shipwreck island, bike rides to the blue caves and smuggler’s cove, or a jeep safari to discover the island’s flora and fauna.
All aboard for a day of fun in the sun, swimming, snorkelling, and sunbathing on a chartered yacht, glass-bottomed boat, or a shared caique. Ten kilometres from the villa is the town of Zante, visit the square, museums, and churches, then treat them to the local sweet delicacies of Mandolato, Fytoura, and Pasteli. Do a day trip to Keri Lake, walk the cliffs to see the lighthouse, hike the hill to the top of the castle, swim in the turquoise waters of the Ionian Sea, and discover the Keri caves.
