A vacation in the incredible Villa Eden takes luxury to the next level. This simply stunning, sea-view villa is part of the exclusive Andronis Arcadia hotel, suite, and villa complex, overlooking the unique town of Oia, on the north coast of Santorini, one of the Cycladic islands in the azure waters of the Greek Aegean Sea. The architect-designed villa has six spacious ensuite double bedrooms, which can comfortably accommodate up to twelve guests, ideal for a large family holiday, or a friends’ get-together.

The independent, detached property is arranged over three floors, and set in its own private grounds with a Mediterranean garden populated with olive trees and indigenous shrubs, two private heated swimming pools, a spa, and a gym. Villa Eurus comes complete with secure parking, complimentary air conditioning and Wi-Fi throughout, use of the complex’s facilities, including a private chef and butler, fine dining restaurants, spa services, and an excellent concierge team, The sleek lines of the exterior classic Cycladic whitewashed walls are home to impeccably designed minimalist interiors. Floor-to-ceiling picture windows with panoramic sea views, slide into the walls, to create open-plan, open air living spaces. Skylights flood the property with natural daylight. The décor is sleek and contemporary, mixing crisp clean whites with subtle earth tones, and sea glass next to traditional pottery, cleverly combined with textured rugs and rattan, creating a super cool, understated opulent, laid-back vibe.

Enter the villa at ground floor level, where you will be welcomed by a breathtaking, light and airy, open plan, sea view, living space, with floor-to-ceiling sliding doors, that disappear into the fabric of the building. The main seating area has a super squishy L-shaped cream sofa, a simple wood coffee table, and a flat-screen satellite television. The skylight dining room has a farmhouse style table, which can seat up to eight guests. The adjacent ultra-modern kitchen is fully equipped with all the latest built-in appliances that you will need to cater for your holiday, better still let the private chef and butler do the work for you. Oh and did we mention the fully-stocked wine cellar. On the ground floor there are three superbly-appointed bedrooms, all with double beds, flat-screen TVs, safety boxes, and ensuite bathrooms with walk-in showers, two of them have immediate pool access, perfect for a swim before breakfast.

Take the internal staircase to the upper floor, where you will find a master suite with a double bed, its own living space, a flat-screen TV, an ensuite shower room, and a private sea view balcony, with an elegant elongated shallow swimming pool. The lower floor is home to a further smaller living space, and two ensuite bedrooms, one with a double bed, and two twin beds, both with access to their own private terrace. Keep fit in the state-of-the-art fitness room, and a relaxing spa suite that completes the accommodation.

Step outside to a stark white, stunning sea view terrace, home to a centrepiece, step entry, heated, infinity swimming pool, that runs the length of the villa. The pool is surrounded by the deepest cushioned sun loungers and soft seating, strategically positioned to maximise those mesmerising sea views. Villa Eurus is perfectly positioned and nestled in the ultra-luxury Andronis Arcadia hotel, suite, and villa complex, complete with an award-winning spa, restaurant, and swimming pools. The architect-designed villa is set on a craggy hillside, overlooking the beautiful bay, north of Oia, on the Greek Cycladic island of Santorini, in the azure waters of the Aegean Sea. Villa Eurus is a scenic twenty-minute drive from Santorini’s International Airport and twenty kilometres from the port of Athinios.

As a guest in Villa Eurus, you can take advantage of the excellent facilities the hotel has to offer, including fine dining, a private chef, and a butler to serve it, spa services, swimming pools, and an amazing concierge team who can organise almost anything for you. If you can bear to leave this amazing property the nearest beach is Katharos, it’s a fifteen-minute walk to Ammoudi Bay, Baxedes and Coloumbo beaches are a short drive, and the must-see red and white sandy shores are a thirty-minute journey across the island. The villa is within sight of the famous blue-domed churches, the caldera, and the historic castle.

The old town of Oia is rather magical, a fishing village with a maze of colourful lanes populated with exclusive boutiques, which lead down to the harbour. Seek solace in the iconic Greek Orthodox churches, tilt at windmills, visit the Naval Museum, cliff-dive off Ammoudi Bay, then enjoy freshly caught seafood at a beachfront taverna, and stay for the famous sunsets. Hike the nine-kilometre trail of the Caldera edge, until you get to the capital town of Fira, on the west coast. In Fira town centre visit the Santorini Wine Museum, the Archeological Museum of Thera, the Museum of Prehistoric Fira, or the Tomato Museum. Take a walk up the top of Thera Mountain, where you can explore the ancient city ruins, and admire the views from the world’s only sunken caldera. Enjoy a boat trip to the uninhabited islet of Nea and Palia Kameni, an active volcano, with a path of black lava rock, smoking craters, and sulphurous hot springs.

Visit the village of Pyrgos, in the foothills of Mount Profitis, surrounded by vineyards that produce the highly prized Assyrtiko white wines. Take a trip back in time as you walk down the medieval alleyways, populated with tavernas and wine bars, art galleries and gift shops, and a museum that showcases traditional island life. Visit Akrotiri, a prehistoric city dating back to Neolithic times, believed to be the first settlement on the island. For more recent history, The Arygyros Mansion has guided tours of this neo-classical, Venetian merchant’s home.

Santorini hosts an annual film festival, and the twice-daily film screenings at the alfresco Cine Kamari are not to be missed. The island is renowned for its fabulous wines, most especially the crisp dry whites, take a tour of one of the many vineyards, and take a bottle home with you. Charter a yacht and go island hopping, swimming, and snorkelling in the Aegean Sea, enjoying a meal of Greek meze on board, or simply sunbathing, and watching the sunset as you sail back into the harbour.

Kids

Best Suited For: All Ages
Ideal for Kids Ideal for Teens

There are lots for kids to do and see when you holiday on the beautiful island of Santorini. The villa has two private swimming pools, where your children can swim and splash all day. The old town centre of Oia is nearby, where you can walk the winding lanes of this original fishing village, which dates to the Middle Ages and is believed to be linked to the Lost City of Atlantis. Explore the picturesque blue-domed town, and discover the iconic windmills, originally built to grind wheat for bread. Your older children may like to hike the Caldera edge, a nine-kilometre walk to the town of Fira on the west coast.

Santorini is populated with the most incredible volcanic black, red, and white, sandy beaches, with superb crystal clear water sea. The nearest beach is Kathoros, a kilometre and a half from the villa, an unspoilt, unorganised pebbly beach with a rocky landscape and steep entry, which may not be suitable for younger children. Alternatively just a little further away is Baxedes beach, which is organised with sun beds and brollies, it has dark sand and pebbles, and easy entry to shallow waters. Particularly recommended for being family-friendly with organised facilities, cafes, and bars, and some with water sports, are the black sand Monolithos, Pristina, Kamari, Red, White, and Perivolos beaches. Beware the darker sand can get very hot in high season, and aqua shoes are a must for adults and children alike.

A day out to the island’s capital town Fira is a twenty-kilometre journey by car. Here you can visit museums, discover archaeological sites, climb up Ancient Thera, and marvel at the volcanic Caldera. No holiday in Santorini is complete without a family day at sea, charter a yacht, and island hop around the Cyclades. Swim, snorkel, and scuba in azure seas, dine aboard on a meal of Greek meze, get on a jet ski, or learn how to stand up paddleboard.

Children love a trip to the live volcanic islet of Nea and Palia Kameni, where you can walk through black lava, smoking craters, and smelly sulphurous springs. Have some fun at the mini golf in Kamari, where you can all practice your putting. Go on a jeep safari and take a tour of the villages, learn about the local flora and fauna, and traditional way of life. Absorb the history of the island at Akrotiri, where they can explore one thousand-year-old ruins, in an area dating back to 4500BC. Take them to SAWA, an animal sanctuary for the island’s dogs, cats, and donkeys. As the sun sets, watch the stars under the stars, at the alfresco Cine Kamari, where you can all enjoy a screening of your favourite family movies.
