It won’t be easy to decide which of the bedrooms will suit you best – maybe a pretty room leading to the garden or the superb master bedroom on its own private floor? Visual delights and touches of quirkiness are to be found in every room – look out for the rocking horse sculptures next to the marble sinks, the bedroom with the Michelangelo angels and the mezzanine library!

The charming village a short drive away is peacefully situated near St-Rémy de Provence, full of character with narrow streets and ancient houses enhanced by colourful window boxes and pretty gardens. The hills of Les Alpilles provide a wonderful backdrop to an area renowned for its verdant panoramas of vineyards, cypress hedges, olive groves, orchards and seasonal swathes of sunflowers.

Nearby Eygalières is one of the prettiest spots in Provence while St-Rémy is proud of its resident artists who display and sell their works of art in the local galleries. Don’t miss the lively city of Avignon during your stay. Explore its winding medieval streets, visit the two UNESCO world heritage sites and Saint Benezet Bridge. Drive south west towards the wild horses of the Camargue to visit Van Gogh’s Arles with its incredible architecture and fascinating Roman remains.

Or you may just prefer to enjoy your wonderful villa and the beautiful countryside nearby. Les Alpilles Natural Park provides plenty of opportunity for outdoor activities such as rock climbing, hiking, horse riding and mountain biking. Nature lovers will enjoy its biodiversity and abundance of resident bird species.

  • The eighth bedroom is in a separate 'Loft' studio with its own garden entrance, ideal for perhaps an older teen or accompanying staff as it's smaller and simpler compared to the other bedrooms
  • There is a rather characterful ladder leading to the mezzanine library in the grand living room and another mezzanine in the kitchen
  • The caretaker lives on site by the entrance near the parking area but the house cannot be seen from the pool or gardens
  • There’s a water feature in the vast grounds – keep an eye on kids when they’re exploring
  • Air-conditioning is in the bedrooms only

Villa Artisanale is situated in the countryside on the outskirts of a charming village peacefully situated in the heart of beautiful Provence between Cavaillon (9km) and St-Rémy de Provence (12km). The hills of Les Alpilles provide a wonderful background to an area renowned for its verdant panoramas of vineyards, cypress hedges, olive groves, orchards and seasonal swathes of sunflowers.

The village is full of character with its narrow streets and ancient houses, with colourful shutters faded by the sun, window boxes and pretty gardens.  Peace and tranquillity can be found in the shady square next to the church and a game of boules may well be found on the village pitch.

Nearby Eygalières (8km) in Les Alpilles Natural Park is one of the prettiest spots in Provence, a small hill-top village with winding lanes and stunning views , home to many celebrities seeking refuge from the paparazzi. The park provides plenty of opportunity for outdoor activities such as rock climbing with hiking, horse riding and mountain biking popular on the many marked trails. Nature lovers will enjoy its biodiversity and abundance of resident bird species.

Nearby St-Rémy (12km) is popular with artists, many living in the area and displaying or selling their works of art in the local galleries. . Famous artist Vincent Van Gogh was hospitalised for over a year at the old asylum of St Paul de Mausole, which can be visited today. In the summer months, on selected Sundays, the ‘Route des Artistes’ fills with local artists showing off their work creating a wonderful and bustling atmosphere. Food lovers, look out for the Wednesday morning market.

Don’t miss the lively city of Avignon (27km) during your stay. Explore its winding medieval streets, visit the two UNESCO world heritage sites, the Pope’s Palace and Saint Benezet Bridge. The covered market offers all sorts of delights or head to the weekend farmers, flower and flea markets for wonderful local produce and a bargain or two.

Arles (41km) is also fantastic city to visit, a southwards drive in the direction of the wild grey horses and pink flamingos of the Camargue Regional Park (61km). With a rich historical past, Arles is well known for its incredible architecture and fascinating Roman remains. It is also famous for its connection to Vincent Van Gogh who managed to paint over 500 works during his relatively short time in the city he loved so much.

Les Baux-de-Provence (25km), one of France’s acclaimed ‘plus beaux villages’, is also within easy reach. Gordes (25.5km) is yet another one of the beautiful villages worth visiting with stunning architecture, set in the outstanding Luberon region, surrounded by those iconic lavender fields in the summer months.

Provence is a wonderful place for families with children of all ages.  There is a wealth of characterful villages, towns and cities to discover across the region. Visit a typical Provencal market and try some amazing new foods or simply wander around charming villages soaking up the atmosphere and admiring artists at work. They will return home with images of light and colour that will last them a lifetime.

For smaller children there is L’Arche de Meo Animal Park in Mollégès for those mornings when you come into the village for a quiet stroll or to buy fresh baguettes from the bakery. Pony lovers will enjoy visiting the riding school in nearby Eygalières (8km).

Follow the Van Gogh path around St-Rémy (12km), looking out for the sign-boards featuring paintings he made in the village or head a little further out to the archaeological site of Glanum. Try rock-climbing in Les Alpilles, head north to explore Avignon (27km) by the little train that takes you across the city including the Pont d’Avignon or take a boat trip across the Rhone.  

Create memories by kayaking along the Sorgue (26km) or hire canoes by the magnificent Pont du Gard (50km), near Nimes (59km). Les Alpilles Natural Park offers rock climbing and wonderful trails for walking, cycling and horse-riding.

These terms and conditions may be amended from time to time.

Security deposit €10,000 paid to the owner by bank transfer one month before arrival and refunded two weeks after departure, subject to full inspection.

End of stay cleaning included? Yes. However, guests are required to leave the accommodation clean, tidy and in the same condition as on their arrival. Any extra cleaning, laundry, maintenance and/or garbage disposal required will be charged against the security deposit.
Linen & towels included? Yes, including pool towels.
Energy costs included? Yes.
Heating costs included? Yes.
Minimum stay 7 nights. 14 nights if booking in July/August.
Changeover day Saturday.
Pets welcome? On request only and with prior agreement with the owner.
