Chèvrefeuille feels like more than just a holiday home with its vast living space, elegant dining room and impressive contemporary kitchen. There are five well-appointed bedrooms as well as four great bathrooms, some of which are ensuite, making this a superb place for family or friends looking for a relaxing and enjoyable abode.

Spending time outside here is such a pleasure whether it’s your morning coffee under the pretty pergola looking out towards the countryside or evening meals by the barbecue, served al-fresco on the shaded terrace. Kids can run around on the vast lawns whilst parents look on knowing that the swimming pool is gated and summery afternoons can be spent splashing around and cooling off in the inviting pool. This villa offers great space both inside and out and is sure to be loved by all ages.

In the heart of the Vallée des Baux, this is Les Alpilles Natural Park with some of Provence’s prettiest villages and landscapes. It’s just 5km to the charming village of Maussane-les-Alpilles with its great bistros, pretty shops and two ancient olive mills creating some of the finest olive oil in France. Other idyllic places to visit include Les Baux de Provence, one of France’s 'Plus Beaux Villages' and charming St-Rémy with its narrow lanes filled with art galleries.

Van Gogh’s precious Arles is also within easy reach whilst Avignon and Gordes offer perfect day trips a little further afield. There are also many wonderful walking and cycling trails across the diverse landscapes of this region as well as golf, horse-riding and many other activities for those seeking adventure. This captivating part of Provence really does offer something special to everyone.

Located in Les Alpilles Natural Park in Provence, Chèvrefeuille is in a pretty countryside setting only a five-minute/3.5km drive from restaurants, shops and a small supermarket in the heart of the Vallée des Baux.

It’s also just 5km from the charming village of Maussane-les-Alpilles with its great bistros, pretty shops and two ancient olive mills creating some of the finest olive oil in France. There is a lovely choice of restaurants here from excellent pizzerias to Michelin starred establishments and some brilliant food shops including three boulangeries, a lovely deli with local products, a butchers and a fish mongers (which doubles up also a wine and oyster bar).

This region is filled with rolling vineyards, beautiful olive groves and summer landscapes of sunflowers. There are many idyllic villages across Les Alpilles Natural Park and beyond. Les Baux de Provence (8km) is a great place to start; a unique and incredible village classified as one of France’s 'Plus Beaux Villages'. Explore the pretty squares, narrow streets and little shops, then wander around the fortified château.

Nearby St-Rémy (15km) is well known for being popular with artists who display their works in the village’s art galleries and food lovers shouldn’t miss the market on a Wednesday morning whilst Eygalières (17km) is one of the prettiest hilltop villages in Provence loved by a handful of A-list celebrities.

Further south, Van Gogh’s precious Arles (26km) is also within easy reach whilst to the north-east Gordes (50km) is a stunning village worth visiting with amazing architecture, set in the outstanding Luberon region, surrounded by lavender fields in the summer months.

There are many beautiful walking trails around this area as well as cycling routes where you can discover the varied landscapes. You can visit many of the surrounding vineyards and olive groves to sample some of the region’s fine foods.

Those looking for activity have so much on their doorstep. There is both horse-riding and golf within a short drive and both the immediate and wider area are a walkers and cyclists paradise with stunning countryside and landscapes. Older children will love kayaking in the Sorgue and there are plenty of other family friendly activities throughout the region from model railways to the north and open castles to trekking across the tree-tops and visiting even a zoo.

Provence offers a wealth of delights for all ages and there is plenty for kids to do in this region.

Activity lovers can try rock-climbing in Les Alpilles or find a pony-club for youngsters. There are wonderful walks, cycling routes and horse-riding opportunities across the area. A little further afield, there is some great kayaking near L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue or you can also hire canoes and kayaks by the magnificent Pont du Gard near Nimes.

For the perfect Provençal daytrip, Avignon is great for families; kids will love exploring the city by the little road train and you can also take a boat trip along the Rhone.

Also, head to charming Saint-Rémy-de-Provence to explore the winding streets filled with art galleries and follow the Van Gogh trail around the town, looking out for the sign-boards featuring paintings he created in the village. History lovers should also head out to the archaeological site of Glanum, just south of St-Rémy.

Finally, animal lovers should head to Zoo La Barben with over 600 species of animals whilst the most adventurous may prefer the various tree-top activity centres scattered across Provence.
