Located on the sprawling grounds of the luxury Meneghetti Winery, the villa is the perfect place to step back into nature whilst soaking up the warm Istrian sunshine with your loved ones.

The stone villa has been thoughtfully designed to echo the traditional architecture of this stunning coastal region of Croatia, while the elegant, understated décor of the villa’s relaxed interior perfectly encapsulates the effortless natural beauty and laidback way of life to be found along the Istrian Peninsula.  Each morning, bright blue skies and the gentle sea breeze will draw you outside to Villa Gambalera’s peaceful garden, where you can enjoy a refreshing swim in the cool waters of your own private swimming pool.

You may feel inclined to spend the rest of the morning lounging in the garden, relaxing in the shade of an umbrella on the wooden terrace and dipping in and out of the pool at your leisure. However, if you feel the sparkling Adriatic coastline beckoning, the Boho Beach Club by Meneghetti is less than two kilometres away, with a private transfer service arranged by the hotel’s attentive staff. Here, you can unwind on a private area of the beach with canopied sunbeds, take an invigorating swim in the ocean or explore the coast on a private boat trip.

After another day spent discovering the coastal gems of Istria, make your way home to the cool and restful ambience of Villa Gambalera. The villa’s tasteful open plan living space boasts one of two inviting lounge areas, with sumptuous sofas and flatscreen TVs. With views of the pool and the lush green gardens, the bright and airy space also features a well-appointed kitchenette with modern appliances, as well as a delightful dining area, where everyone can gather together over a morning cup of coffee to discuss the day’s adventures. Meanwhile, the casual outdoor dining area on the villa’s covered patio makes for the ideal place to unwind, lingering over a glass of excellent Meneghetti wine in the garden at sunset.

Villa Gambalera features three welcoming double bedrooms, each boasting a king-size bed and a modern en-suite bathroom with a glass-panelled walk-in shower. Exposed timber beams, hardwood floors and relaxed furnishings create a natural, soothing atmosphere, in harmony with the villa’s tranquil surroundings.  Comfortable sofa beds in both of the villa’s charming lounge areas can also accommodate up to three additional guests.

With a wealth of exceptional facilities located on the grounds of the Meneghetti Estate and the turquoise Adriatic Sea just a few minutes away by car, Villa Gambalera offers guests a truly unique experience in the Croatian countryside, which you will be delighted to return to time and time again.

  • The villa has a small kitchenette but due to Croatian law it is unable to be used to prepare meals, but with the fantastic onsite restaurant which delivers straight to the villa, you won't want to cook anyway!
  • The villa can accommodate up to nine guests in total, with three double bedrooms and two sofa beds available.
  • We recommend that young children remain supervised whilst playing by the villa’s private swimming pool.

Ideally situated within the verdant countryside surrounding the traditional Istrian town of Bale, the tranquility of the Villa Gambalera beautiful setting cannot be overestimated. The estate, home to an award-winning winery and olive oil production centre, is the perfect symbol of Croatian Istria’s ancient connection with its land. The charming town of Rovinj is a coastal gem on the west coast of the Istrian peninsula, around twenty-five minutes from Meneghetti Wine Hotel and Winery. A picturesque seaside town with narrow cobblestone streets and colourful architecture, here you can relax by the turquoise waters of Lone Bay Beach or enjoy a variety of watersports on Mulini Beach. Later, wander the labyrinthine streets of the old town before making your way to the hilltop Church of St. Euphemia, where you can take in panoramic views of the ocean and the cluster of tiny islands which surround Rovinj.

Hiking and biking enthusiasts will be enchanted by the scenic trails which are available in the immediate vicinity of the Meneghetti Estate, which lead out to stunning views of the coast or inland towards pretty medieval towns such as Bale. For an exciting day trip across the water, the untouched natural beauty of Brijuni National Park is a short boat journey away from the fishing port of Fažana. Rovinj is the ideal spot for those who are after a day of watersports, with aquatic adventures such as stand-up paddleboarding, snorkelling and sailing excursions all on offer. Or pack a picnic and walk to your secluded local beach, where everyone can spend the day dipping in and out of the water and relaxing at the Boho Beach Club by Meneghetti.

Intrepid explorers will love Brijuni National Park, where they can hop on the open-air electric train and take in the wondrous sights of the safari park, including native Istrian animals such as sheep and donkeys and exotic animals like zebras and llamas! Later on, the whole family can rent bikes to explore the endless trails the park has to offer or take some time to relax by the water, before paying a visit to the dinosaur footprints located near the safari park. The adventure continues on the sunset boat journey back to the shores of Fažana, where everyone can stop off to enjoy a well-earned ice cream!

Security deposit There is no security deposit, but should there be any damage or loss caused by you or your guests during your stay you may be liable for the cost.

Energy costs included? Yes, included in the rental price.
Heating costs included? Yes, included in the rental price.
Linen & towels included? Yes, included in the rental price.
End of stay cleaning included? Yes. However, guests are required to leave the accommodation clean, tidy and in the same condition as on their arrival. Any extra cleaning, laundry, maintenance and/or rubbish disposal required will be charged against the security deposit.
Internet access? Complimentary Wi-Fi internet access is included in rental price. It is good to note that the speed is dependent on the local provider and technical issues may cause reduced speed or cut of service.
Minimum stay 2 nights. All other durations on request.
Changeover day Flexible
Pets welcome? On request only and with prior agreement with the owner. If accepted, a pet supplement of €50 per pet per day will apply (paid locally).
Smoking Allowed? Smoking & Vaping are not permitted.
Tax Tourist tax will be charged according to the local rate upon arrival in cash:
€1.40 per adult per day
Guests aged 12 to 18 years old are to pay 50% of the rate
Children up to 12 years old are exempt from paying tax.
Insurance Guests are required to be in possession of a valid insurance policy, which covers them for cancellations, loss of personal belongings, personal liability and any accidental damage caused during their stay.
Other Ts and Cs Daily breakfast is included in the rental rate.
Supplement for additional breakfast (e.g. on arrival day), 30€ per person, per day (paid locally).
