Overview
Grand Oceanfront is part of the Wymara complex located on the Caribbean island of Providenciales within the archipelago of Turks and Caicos.
Located in the oceanfront building, you can guarantee beautiful beach views of the golden and turquoise sprawl beyond, calling you to its waters like a series of sirens.
The 670 square foot property boasts one king bed (or two queen beds), a fully-outfitted luxury bathroom complete with shower and a separate spa tub, a kitchenette and an indoor seating area. Unlike some of the other properties, there is no balcony, but the sliding glass windows open fully to allow the tantalising ocean breeze into the space.
For those that adore their rest, blackout curtains make a good night's sleep a certainty, and the separate shower tub is a great way to soak up the serenity after a busy day at the pool, beach or exploring the island.
An ideal base from which you can explore the resort and wider island, the open plan design makes it easy to truly feel at home in a moment of moments, as you move from the entrance to the bathroom, dining area and further afield to the bedroom.
Chic, airy, cool and calming, this space is designed for true calm. Wake up to a filling American breakfast and enjoy making use of the kitchen complete with Liebherr, Gaggenau and Bosch appliances.
Enticing touches include Frette towels and soft robes for languishing after a day at the pool or by the beach, as well as Sterling Hospitality Sleep System beds with 400 thread count bedding. Securely stow your valuables in the laptop-sized safe and opt for daily housekeeping and evening turndown services if you so wish.
Enjoy the LCD TV, DVD player and assortment of DVDs – over 250 to be specific. Let the music wash you away to peaceful times by using your Bose iPod docking stereo.
The studio reflects the airy island ambience of Providenciales itself. Spend time at the restaurants, the infinity pool, the beach, the spa and the gym.
The island itself, which forms part of a British Overseas Territory, is part of the archipelago that is comprised of 40 cays and islands. Only eight of these are inhabited by humans. Renowned for the long stretches of glorious beach, beguiling waters and glorious coral reefs brimming with underwater life, many are drawn here thanks to the natural beauty, but there’s culture and history to be found here too.
Take in a gentler way of life or ramp things up with some adventure. It’s your choice.
What you should know…
- Consider what you’d like to do before you visit. Do you want to visit when the whales are migrating? Do you like the heat? Make sure you book up things you really want to do in advance if visiting during the peak seasons.
- Yes, cards are great, but cash is king. It’s always good to have some US dollars to hand.
- Mosquitos love this land, so remember the golden rules; use bug spray, remember their dominant times (dawn and dusk) and still to long-sleeved clothing in light colours.
- Wymara Resort is cashless, none of the outlets will accept cash, only card payments.

Location
About the surrounding area of Grand OceanfrontYour home for the duration of your stay is part of the Wymara resort on the island of Providenciales in the Turks and Caicos Islands. On your doorstep sits Grace Bay Beach, which is somewhat famed, perhaps even legendary, for its beautiful white sands and crystal-clear waters. In fact, it’s ranked as one of the world’s most impressive beaches and offers opportunities to relax, snorkel, swim, sunbathe or participate in adrenaline-infused water sports. On site, there’s plenty to do, whether you want to swim in the pool, try the local dishes, relax at the beach, work out at the gym or have a decadent spa treatment. But there’s plenty to do beyond too.
Nearby you’ll find Coral Gardens Reef, which forms part of the Princess Alexandra National Park, a breathtaking area which offers amazing opportunities to dive and snorkel. There are a variety of stunning coral formations to see here, gorgeous tropical marine life, and beautiful waters. Truly, this is a water babies idea of paradise.
If you prefer keeping your feet on dry land, you can enjoy the Provo Golf Club, which is also close by. The club boasts an 18-hole golf course and makes for a challenging game regardless of skill level. With such picturesque surroundings, it also makes for an enchanting day.
Further still from the water, you can enjoy Bight Park. Enjoy a picnic, talk a leisurely stroll and visit the playgrounds. Are restaurants and shopping more your style? Graceway Plaza has it all, from quaint cafes for a coffee, restaurants featuring all kinds of fare, boutique shopping excursions and a grocery store where you can stock up on quality produce.
If you don’t mind travelling out a bit further, the pleasantly named Turtle Cove Marina is a great place to charter a boat, fish and enjoy water sports and tends to draw aficionados of boating and sailing.
The island of Providenciales offers so much more too. For instance, you might want to take in the lagoon permeated with islands and mangroves that is Chalk Sound National Park. The best way to explore this enchanting area is by kayak or paddleboard, which can both be rented.
If you’re new to snorkelling or diving, Coral Gardens and Smith’s Reef offer plenty of opportunities to explore the world beneath the water.
Conch is a local delicacy used in many meals on the island. A visit to Conch Farm will allow you to learn more about the conch and how it became so integral to the cuisine.
If you’re in season, you can enjoy whale watching from January to April as the whales begin their migration. You might also want to take in the history and culture of the island with a visit to Cockburn Town on Grand Turk – a great opportunity to learn about the indigenous Lucayan people.

Best Suited For: All AgesFirst and foremost, the resort is an ideal base for those with children. Between the pool, restaurants, beach, gym and spa, there’s just so much to do. Boredom is not an option.
The beach is always a popular choice, and Providenciales is renowned for its many wonderful beaches, especially Grace Bay Beach, which is on your doorstep. The waters here are serene and calm, and the beaches are forged from delicate white sand.
Whether you sit and sun worship, play games on the beaches, swim or paddleboard, you can’t go wrong. There are also many chances for children to participate in fun activities like snorkelling. Great options include Bight Reef at Coral Gardens and Smith’s Reef. There are many superb coral formations teaming with life to explore, and it’s a great way to get children acquainted with the sea. There’s also a huge array of water sports to enjoy, which is a very fun way to get out on the water, particularly for more daring children.
A great day out to the Conch Farm is an interesting way to learn more about the conch that calls the area home and forms a delicious component of many local dishes. Children may even hold a baby conch as they learn more about their origins and impact on the cuisine and culture of the island.
You’ll be loved forever if you take the kids to Pirate’s Island Waterpark, which offers splash zones, water slides and a lazy river – ideal for children of all ages and stages. Golf fans can head to Provo Golf Club for a miniature golf session, which provokes a challenge while remaining engaging.
Across Providenciales, there are many beachside stables, granting you the chance to go horseback riding along the sands. The tours are guided and can be arranged for varying skill levels, from beginners to veteran riders. There are numerous island eco-tours that allow families to see the beauty of the area, so you’ll be spoilt for choice. You might choose to paddle board or kayak as you learn more about the ecosystems of the area and the animals that call it home. Iguana Island, otherwise known as Little Water Cay, can be visited by boat and is a fantastic way to see rock iguanas which are native to the area in their natural surroundings.
For a different type of beachside adventure, head to Potcake Place, a dog rescue centre that will let you take a furry friend for a walk. Just make sure you take them back!
