Royal Westmoreland is a private, gated golf resort set across 750 acres of the hills above Barbados’ west coast, in the parish of St James. It’s about 45 minutes from Grantley Adams International Airport and a five-minute drive from the shops and restaurants of Holetown. At its heart is the 18-hole championship golf course designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr., with sea views from many of the fairways.
The resort isn’t on the beach, but Mullins Beach and the Platinum Coast are just minutes away, and guests can use the resort’s beach club for days by the sea. On site there are tennis courts, a gym, a clubhouse restaurant and a kids’ club, all behind 24-hour security, which makes it popular with families as well as golfers.
Our 20 Royal Westmoreland villas range from three-bedroom homes sleeping six to a 12-bedroom estate for 24, from around £2,800 per week. Most have private pools and golf course or sea views, and many include a golf cart for getting around the resort. Barbados is warm all year, around 27–30°C. Winter is the driest season, while summer brings lower villa prices and the Crop Over festival.
