At the Sands at Grace Bay, guests are invited to use the resort’s complimentary watersports equipment, including sea kayaks, snorkelling gear, paddleboards and small catamaran sailboats called Hobie Cats. The friendly and professional staff at the Beach Hut will be on hand to provide helpful tips and advice so that you can make the most of the fantastic equipment.
Older children will also enjoy the complimentary bicycles the resort offers, which guests can use from early morning until sunset. The bikes provide a fun way for families to explore the spectacular sights of the island together, from white sandy beaches to local shops and everything in between. For something a little different, why not arrange a horseback-riding tour along Long Bay Beach with Provo Ponies? Here, horses are guided through the serene shallow waters of the Atlantic Ocean. The tours are for children aged seven years and up, with all levels of riding ability welcome. Provo Ponies also offer optional transportation between the Sands at Grace Bay and their private horse stables.
Another family adventure can be enjoyed on board the Undersea Explorer, a semi-submarine vessel which operates just above the surface of the water, providing passengers with the chance to sit and view the magical underwater sights of a breathtaking coral reef, where schools of colourful fish, friendly sea turtles and even a mermaid can be observed!
Chalk Sound National Park provides visitors with more stunning beaches, including the shallow, clear waters of Sapodilla Bay Beach, which are ideal for family swims. Located on the southwest coastline of Providenciales, Chalk Sound is also home to an enchanting natural lagoon which features hundreds of tiny islands and dazzling turquoise water. At the Turks and Caicos National Environmental Centre, visitors will find plenty of fun and engaging ways to learn about the indigenous wildlife found on Providenciales and the habitats and ecosystems present throughout the Turks and Caicos Islands.
