Live like royalty when you stay at this lavish French chateau in the Loire Valley. Built two centuries ago on 70 acres of meticulously curated grounds, Chateau De La Cailletiere offers a rare taste of history with deluxe amenities.

Inside are antique period furnishings and décor, multiple dining rooms, two kitchens, a chapel, and an impressive grand salon that takes you back in time.

Six elegant bedrooms accommodate up to 13 guests, and the kids will love the table tennis and games provided.

There are many places to settle in with a book – from cushy chairs beside the fireplaces, to beneath one of the many trees within the grounds, to a sunny spot by the pond (where you can fish too).

Included on the grounds are badminton, a new heated swimming pool and tennis court.

If you can tear yourself away from chateau activities, castles, wine tours, and historic villages are close by. Try local cuisine at La Diligence 10 minutes away, or market goods from the nearby town Cande. The Mont of Saint-Michel day trip is a must and The Puy du Fou medieval park in Les Epesses is fun for all.

We had the best holiday of our lives. The property is more beautiful in real life then you can see on the pictures. Idyllic is the perfect word for this house. The pool and tennis court are in really great condition and we had so much fun. Beautiful!!!

  • Magical Chateau

Posted by Anna A on 13/09/2016

In short, this is a charming chateau in the most beautiful location. We were two families, with six children in total, and there was plenty of space for us all. Beautiful spacious bedrooms with many bathrooms and a fully equipped modern kitchen. The swimming pool and tennis court are super and the gardens are huge! But most notably, you can see the care and attention from the lovely owners, thank you!

  • Wonderful family chateau

Magnificent chateau in beautiful surroundings. The chateau is perfect for families with children and is located close (but not too close) to town and places to visit. The tennis court was great and the pool wonderful. The hosts warmly welcomed us into this wonderful place. I hope to return one day.

  • Fantastic Holiday

Posted by Hetta T on 12/07/2016

We spent the most idyllic week at Chateau de la Cailletiere. We were 4 adults and 8 children and we all loved it. The children had plenty to do – swimming, tennis, table tennis and especially the horses, and everyone had a ride in the park.

Since our departure, we have spoken fondly of our trip to the chateau and we would love to return.

We would like to thank you again for allowing us to visit la Cailletiere. It became such a success with our friends that they all promised we should meet again in exactly 50 years... You know that my wife and I celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary thanks to you!

  • La Cailletiere holds the memories of a lifetime

Posted by The Howard Family on 08/12/2011

La Cailletiere holds the memories of a lifetime for my family and me. This beautiful place is romantic and comfortable, awe inspiring and historical. We loved horseback riding at the local stables we enjoyed marvellous French meals. There were plenty of wonderful quiet places to settle in with a book or a sketchpad under a tree in the yard or in one of the large windows overlooking the pond. There were many hours spent exploring this exquisite place and its surrounding grounds. We played table tennis and tennis, visited markets, castles, and museums. We remember day trips to Mont St. Michel, Chenonceau, Angers, and Chambord. We hope to return again and again!
