Overview
Villa Vinisha, named after an Indian goddess, is a dazzling home nestled on one of the most striking parts of the northern Jamaican coastline, offering immaculately executed accommodation, brimming with Caribbean ease and designer finesse.
Blending both colonial plantation architectural style, and local vernacular Jamaican home layout, with flawless attention to detail and quality level, guests will have chanced upon something rather unique. With a building-length elegant veranda prettily punctuated with white pillars and jalousie shutters, typical of the region, the living spaces are set across an array of airy octagonal cone-roofed pavilions, with high cedar ceilings. Designed originally to keep kitchen smoke separate from living spaces, this luxury take on the original style is nothing short of charming.
This is a vibrant home, finessed with a chic and timeless feel, like stepping into the pages of a glossy interiors magazine, with a preppy, white-washed and classic feel, and a creamy palette of ivories. The indoor-outdoor interplay lends itself to casual and relaxed living, al fresco dining and majestic sea views at every turn. With the sounds of the sea and swaying palms, with indulgent hammocks and elegant bistro sets, guests will be able to wander outdoors and imbibe the very special location of this unique home.
The interiors are crisp and fresh, offering beautifully serene spaces, with hallmark wicker furnishings and marina blue and white, willow-pattern style fabrics with Ralph Lauren wallpaper.
Eight guests can be accommodated across four bedrooms at Villa Vinisha, which offers such a sleek retreat from the buzzing life of Montego Bay, with cool marble floors and waterfront airiness. The verandah is the connecting area between bedrooms, living spaces and the outdoors, and also where cool drinks and evening hors d`oeuvres are served under the palm trees (the butler's special treat is dinner on the beach!)
Montego Bay glitters at night across the water, whilst at every turn guests can absorb the changing colours of the Caribbean Sea. A discreet staff presence will surreptitiously present gorgeous trays of morning coffee at guests’ doors and ensure every detail is covered.
Villa Vinisha is a magical home, offering pristine accommodation, artfully arranged and thoughtfully presented, a true home-from-home, with a gracious luxury interwoven to its design, whilst the setting is simply peerless, with sea views from the beds and the night time sight of fishermen on the shores!

Location
About the surrounding area of Villa VinishaVilla Vinisha is nestled in a water-side enclave, just eight miles west of Montego Bay, on Jamaica’s north coast. The north of this lush Caribbean island is known for its glitzy developments, crystalline waters and coral reef rich coast, whilst away from the tourist hotspots, there lies a fascinating, colourful culture with music built into its rhythms (birthplace of reggae) and craggy remote mountains through to tropical waterfalls and banana groves.
Montego Bay is an energetic hub of buzzing nightlife, downtown market life, duty-free shopping and parties galore; ‘Mo’ Bay’ (as it is known locally) is Jamaica’s second largest town after Kingston (Bob Marley’s birthplace). When it comes to beaches, there is everything from the celebrity-dotted Doctor’s Cave Beach, which has a 100-year-old bathing club, through to less showy Cornwall Beach, known for its tasty fried fish.
Locally known “Hip Strip,” (Gloucester Avenue), runs parallel to the oceanfront and it offers a colourful and vivid three-kilometre stretch of bars, boutiques, street vendors and restaurants. In contrast, Downtown is worth a visit, from the cobblestone Sam Sharpe Square, to patty shops, artisans and music vendors through to historical sites like the Gully Market, or local eateries offering an eclectic creole blend of African spices, jerk and plantain, or a shot of rum depending on the mood!
Holden's Reef (100m off-shore) is part of the barrier reef complex that covers much of Jamaica's north coast. Taking a kayak out to the live reef will offer a tropical treat of colourful fish and coral, with snorkelling in shallow water or deeper waters for scuba diving.
The north coast of Jamaica consists of the diverse parishes of St Mary, St Ann and Trelawny. The gateway to spectacular scenery once visitors venture a little from the resort complexes; sweeping cane and coconut plantations, rolling farmlands, mangrove swamps and craggy terrain ideal for hiking, or for a journey to a reggae Mecca, to Bob Marley’s birthplace where local Rasta guides will proudly offer tours.
Whether it be deserted coastline or hikes inland to hidden waterfalls, magical coral reef journeys, or bubbling local culture intermixed with shiny tourist hubs, live music or water sports, the north coast of Jamaica has it all.

"Five Stars"
Thank you so much for everything, the vacation and vow renewal were absolutely perfect. Our villa in paradise could not have been more perfect, and the staff made us feel so welcome (They were wonderful!). In particular, Butler Gladstone went over and above arranging everything we needed, and our driver Alicia kindly escorted us all over town. Maud's meals & snacks were fabulous, pool and grounds spotless, peaceful and beautiful. Young folks made good use of paddleboards and kayaks. And we loved meeting our faithful friends/dogs Wrinkles & Spot.
Our expectations were truly exceeded, and we are counting the days until we might come back again! "Five Stars" – Thanks for providing a truly memorable family vacation. -
Love it
Thanks for your help in making our plans smooth. We love Villa Vinisha! Love the add of the shower in the master bedroom! And the refreshed upholstery is a nice touch.

Thanksgiving Celebrations
A wonderful vacation. Six of us stayed at Villa Vinisha just after Thanksgiving 2017. What we liked:
1.The house is fantastic, perfectly laid out so everyone can enjoy the sight and sound of the bay. The decor is perfectly tropical in mostly blue and whites. My wife and I had the large and well-appointed master bedroom. The bed was as comfortable as many of the finest hotel beds. Our companions had similarly comfortable sleep experiences. The ensuite bathroom had both indoor and outdoor showers. What a pleasure to take a shower under the almost full moon. (Hint, turn on the outdoor shower about a minute before using to let the water get warm.) The master bedroom also has a very comfortable private veranda. My wife and I spent a lot of time there.
2. The staff was wonderful. They managed to take care of our every need without being intrusive. Gladstone, the butler, made sure there was always a cooler with water, soda and beer by the pool all day and made mixed drinks to order. Maud is a wonderful cook. She even made gluten free deserts for us once she learned my wife is gluten sensitive. (Hint, if even one person says they like a Jamaican specialty, Maude will add that to the menu for the next full meal in addition to what she had planned. Try her oxtail stew or curried goat, yum). The rooms were cleaned and laundry washed and folded on our schedule, not theirs.
3. The weather was almost perfect. With one exception, the rain came while we were sleeping, leaving the air clean and fresh the next AM.
In all, we would stay here again.
