An exquisite, new-build villa with six stylish bedrooms, Villa Caiman is located on the equally exquisite Casa de Campo resort on the southern coast of the Dominican Republic. With stunning sea views and spacious interiors, this villa has all the resort amenities close at hand, and features its own beautiful outdoor pool and hot tub.

The Casa de Campo is the longest-established resort in the country, and has an enviable range of facilities. Best known for its three golf courses, there is much more – multiple restaurants and bars, a gym, spa and a marina are among its many highlights.

Villa Caiman is within a short drive of all of this, and particularly close to the marina and Minitas Beach. The oceanfront property offers a spacious and very well-furnished terrace where you can relax in the sun or shade anytime. The huge swimming pool gets some of the best of the sea views, which the amazing hot tub takes you even closer to the water’s edge.

As well as numerous sun loungers, there are seating and dining areas and a summer kitchen and barbecue at Villa Caiman. Step inside and you have another formal dining space with seating for fourteen, and an elegant lounge with flat screen television, DVD and music system.

The six bedrooms incorporate two glamorous master suites facing the ocean, each equipped with a King-size bed, bathroom and air-conditioning, and enjoying direct access to the terrace. Three more double bedrooms with a king or queen-size bed, and a final one with two sets of bunk beds, complete the picture. All of the bedrooms have their own bathroom and television, and are as stylishly appointed as the masters.

The resort puts you close to popular visitor attractions like the village of Altos de Chavon, with its buildings impressively recreating the look of the 16th century. You can also explore the nearby city of La Romana, and beautiful beaches like Bayahibe and Oscar de la Renta just down the coast.

The Dominican Republic’s first and premier resort, Casa de Campo enjoys a breath-taking location on the Caribbean Sea. With its three magnificent golf courses, a spa, private beaches and a host of sporting facilities, it’s the perfect place to get active, relax and enjoy some wonderful scenery.

Tennis courts, a shooting range and an equestrian centre are among the sports facilities at Casa de Campo, with kayaking, snorkelling, deep-sea fishing and more available to water-sports fans. A high-quality spa is there for your pampering needs, and the fitness centre has plenty of equipment for working out and professionals on hand to advise you.

Golfers will want to check out the renowned course, Teeth of the Dog – it’s highly ranked by those in the know – as well as the stunning Dye Fore and The Links. This trio has something to challenge even seasoned golfers, and breath-taking views of the Caribbean Sea add extra drama to the Teeth of the Dog.

The resort’s beach club on Minitas Beach combines relaxed dining with live music and DJ’s, an ambiance enhanced further by the gorgeous sea views. All sorts of other dining options are available around the resort, which also boasts some great nightlife.

Casa de Campo is on the edge of the large city of La Romana, so there is plenty more to see nearby. One local highlight is Altos de Chavon, a modern-day recreation of a 16th-century village, with a cultural centre, archaeological museum and an impressive 5,000-seater amphitheatre. Many of the biggest names in the music business have played it, from Sinatra to Sting.

The enchanting, nearby islands of Isla Catalina and Isla Saona are the local go-to spots for scuba-diving and snorkelling adventures – take a boat trip from La Romana and discover them for yourself.

About the Island & Getting There

About Dominican Republic

Dominican Republic certainly has what you would expect from a Caribbean haven – miles of white sandy beaches with sultry shores, secret lagoons & waterfalls, striking cliffs, dreamlike dunes, marvellous colonial architecture and bubbly locals. Infact, Dominican Republic is so varied that it possesses the highest peak within the Caribbean (Pico Duarte) and at the same time, Lake Enriquillo measures to be the lowest point of any island country.

Dominican Republic is certainly immersed in history - its capital city, Santo Domingo, was founded in 1496, around the same time the first Spanish settlers arrived. As a result, many of the bigger towns have a Spanish colonialist style to them and a lot of these Baroque architectural feats stand proud today. The Catedral de Santa Maria La Menor is a prime example of this, as it is over 500 years old and is the oldest Cathedral in the Americas.

The island’s beauty is widely celebrated and this is particularly noticeable in Dominican Republic’s Nature Reserves, or Eco-Reserves. Saona Island & National Park of the East are perhaps the most commonly known Reserves and truly encapsulate the sense & meaning of what it feels like to be on a desert island. Heading inland will reveal a totally different environment - visit Los Haitises and Jose Armando Bermudez National Parks’ to witness subtropical rainforests, where hiking trails and mountaineering spots can be found. You can’t visit this country without doing a trek, as you’ll be exposed to a world of native birds and scenery unlike anything you’ve witnessed. You'll have to see it with your own eyes to grasp the magnitude of its beauty.

Dominican’s love Baseball. That’s a fact! Pelota, as locals refer to it as, is an institution for anyone who was born on this island. Many strive to follow in the footsteps of national heroes like Pedro Martinez, Vladimir Guerrero and Sammy Sosa to name but a few. Dominican Baseball Season starts in mid-October and runs through to late January, so if you’re holidaying during this period, a game is a must. You might just fall in Glove with it! Oh, don’t forget the Golf! Dominican Republic has over twenty-five golf courses scattered around the island and many are proclaiming that it is fast becoming a premier golfing destination.

If you’re looking to slacken the reins and purely relax, you'll be pleased to know that there is an abundance of musical excitement that is usually displayed through Bachata, Merengue or Reggaetón. During the evening's festivities, you might find that a rum cocktail tends to go hand-in-hand with this racier side of island life. WARNING: Dominican’s certainly know how to party, so perhaps coincide your holiday with Carnival…you won’t regret it!

Dominican Republic is a rare beauty...just as remarkable as the Larimar stone that can only be found on these shores!

Prior to Booking

Please be aware that Dominican Republic is an island nation that experiences weather patterns dictated by the Atlantic Ocean to the north of the island and the Caribbean Sea to the south of the island. This tropical rainforest climate results in the island experiencing a hurricane season, which usually occurs between June to November. When thinking about booking your holiday to Dominican Republic, please consult Foreign travel advice for more information.
