Magazine Beach
When we tell you that this beach is found right next to the island’s airport, you may question how serene it can really be – but its turquoise waters, golden sands and refreshing sea breeze offer the perfect conditions for unwinding all day long.
It’s also the place to be every Sunday when the Aquarium Restaurant fires up the barbeque, serving delectable lobster and meats accompanied by a soundtrack of live reggae musicians. Expect to find locals and tourists alike socialising and eating together all afternoon.
Duquesne Bay
Found on the island’s north-western tip, this hidden gem is flanked by small headlands and lined with thick tropical foliage. Little ones can enjoy their first paddle in the shallow waters, while slightly older children are sure to enjoy tracking down the ancient Amerindian petroglyphs that are carved into the cliffs.
This is also a well-known spot for sailors to set down, so you may spy fishing boats bobbing away from the bay’s dark sands – as if the view could get any more postcard-worthy!
Morne Rouge Beach
One of the smallest beaches in Grenada at just 360m in length, Morne Rouge Beach has still managed to earn quite the reputation among locals. It’s only a short walk away from Grand Anse, offering a welcome respite from the crowds on peak season days. That makes it a great choice for those wanting to dive into a good book or take a relaxing paddle among the clear Caribbean waves. Looking for something to keep the more restless entertained? Note that you won’t find any beachside restaurants here, but with plenty of other coastal areas in close proximity, you can easily access a shaded lunch spot when needed.
Paradise Beach
One look at Paradise Beach and you’ll know that it’s fully deserving of its name. Located on the western side of Carriacou, this spot is easily accessible by boat from many of Grenada’s beaches. Warm waters and white sands come together within a sheltered bay, allowing swimmers of all ages to enjoy a dip, while a sprinkling of almond trees completes the idyllic picture.

Levera Beach
Part of Levera National Park, Levera Beach stands out from the rest of those featured on the list because it’s surrounded by mangroves – ideal for those looking to spy on the local wildlife! Time your visit right between April-August and you could just see some turtles laying eggs here too, with guided tours taking place under the cover of nightfall.
From the shore, you can enjoy incredible views of Sugar Loaf Island, so have those cameras at the ready. Some may even choose to swim out to it, but the waters are certainly stronger here, and you won’t find any lifeguards on duty. Only brave the sea if you’re experienced – and keep younger water-babies by your side on the sand.
Bathway Beach
Looking to let loose and have a dance on the sand? Bathway Beach is the centre of island celebrations, coming alive with people, drinks and live music at certain points throughout the year.
Visit outside of those key times, however, and you’ll find it virtually empty. Bring a snorkel and make the most of swimming in the clear, safe waters with few others around. Then grab lunch at one of the many seafood restaurants nearby, or perhaps enjoy a beach bar crawl with friends.
