This warm, friendly village Manor House in the Midi-Pyrénées is an ideal base from which to explore the Dordogne, Cele and Lot river valleys. Designed with the kids in mind, within the old stone walls you’ll find entertainment aplenty - from the billiards room to books, toys and games. Outside the large lawned garden offers space for the little ones to roam, and the child-safe pool offers a cool respite for the whole family. With both gas and charcoal grills, family dinner time can easily move outside into the fresh country air.

Adults will take pleasure in the wine cellar and gorgeous custom kitchen, with high-end appliances and rich butcher block counter-tops. This sprawling family villa offers many venues where you can enjoy that perfect glass of Cahors wine - two rustic dining rooms, a deck and patio, or one of three casual living rooms.

Sitting between the towns of Le Bourg and Assier (2km), this family villa is nestled on the edge of the Causses National Park. Drive to Cahors (60km), a dramatic town surrounded by the River Lot, to discover the eponymous style of wine produced there. An adventurous spirit will find plenty to do - exploring the caves of Lascaux and Le Pech Merle, horseback riding, or simply going to one of the many weekly farmers markets in the local towns and villages.

Encompassing parts of Gascony, Languedoc, the Gers and several others, you’ll get a varied slice of the whole French experience here, not least if you stay at one of our beautiful chateaux in the Midi-Pyrénées! And if you want to discover the best of what the region has to offer, our Midi-Pyrénées travel guide is here to show you where to go, what to eat and how you can make the best of your break with some amazing activities.

  • Spectacular!

    Posted by Bernie on 19/08/2018

    A beautiful house and surroundings.

  • Everything we needed for a fabulous stay

Posted by Sally D. on 16/10/2016

Maison Bourg offered everything we needed for a fabulous stay in the Le Lot region of France. The house is spacious and well-appointed, and accommodated our family of nine, including three children, and six adults. The perfect place to celebrate a family milestone. We cooked here every night, and the kitchen is well-stocked to produce wonderful meals from the many local food products available at the farmers' markets and artisanal groceries. Great wine, and the house offered a fine dining atmosphere with big tables for seating all of us to share our meals. The beds were amazingly comfortable. Plenty of room for all of us, and all the various ages of our family.

  • A first-class property

Posted by Helen M. on 25/09/2016

Before our stay, we had exchanged various emails with Nick the owner who was more than willing to answer any queries we had prior to our arrival. Phillipe, the property manager, greeted us at the property as arranged, showed us around the beautiful house and its many, wonderful features and explained everything we needed to know for our stay. The property itself is truly first class. The pictures really do not do justice to the sheer size and space available for our family of 12. There are so many thoughtful features to accommodate all sorts of ages and interests from the games room for our teenagers to the vast collection of DVDs for our younger children when they needed a rest from the pool! All of the bedrooms are extremely spacious and comfortable with en-suites and bathrooms that easily accommodated our large party. The many different living areas were perfect for people to find their own quiet space, including a wonderful outside terrace with numerous seating, parasols and loungers. Details such as a filled 'beer fridge', which you were simply asked to re-fill like for like, was a super idea and enabled us to settle in and enjoy the property straight away. The area itself has so many things to offer. Our family, ranging from 10 to 71, spend a wonderful day canoeing along the Dordogne and we visited many attractions and local towns. We found a great pizzeria in Figeac and lovely restaurants in Gramat and Martel. There is also a fantastic pizzeria take-away just down the road from the house which provided us with a break from cooking on a couple of occasions! All in all, we had a wonderful stay and were very sorry to leave. The house is superb for a large party and we couldn't recommend it enough.

  • An excellent property

Posted by John K. on 17/08/2016

Nick and his French representative Phillipe were wonderful people to deal with. The house was very comfortable. The pool was excellent for the grandchildren. The surrounding area fascinating. The home was very comfortable for our party of 7 adults and 2 children. The bedrooms large, the beds comfortable, abundant dining areas inside and out. The nearby villages have good supermarkets etc with a good pizza place about 1 km away.

  • A memorable time!

    Posted by Renea on 07/07/2016

Dear Nick and Philippe, my family and I have enjoyed the house very much. It is so well set up for relaxation and enjoyment for the whole family. We have explored the region by car, had meals out and also loved being by the pool, playing chess, pool, watching movies, soccer, cooking and eating in the 'cave '. All in all a memorable time in this beautiful part of the world. Thanks for giving us the opportunity to enjoy your beautiful home away from home. Cheers Renea

  • A house full of surprise

    Created on 06/07/2016

We had a fabulous stay! The house was superbly catered for both our young children (6 months and 3 years old), our friends (in their 30s) and my parents (in the their 70s). The fabulous pool was the hub of our day times and the games room the hub of our evenings, the older generation still had 3 sitting rooms to choose from for quiet reading and chatting. Each room has been cleverly and lovingly furnished, you cannot imagine waking in a more beautiful bedroom. We were a short drive from canoeing and rock climbing which was great fun. The only negative of this place is having to go home!

  • Magnifique demeure tout confort dans une région magnifique

Posted by Frederique P. on 23/06/2016

  • A great house!

Posted by Marcio A. on 10/06/2016

We have stayed at Maison Bourg with another couple of friends during a round trip through the south of France. The house has been renovated and combines the charm of the old building with what you find as the best in modern comforts. All done with great taste. It added a great deal to our experience in the region. The grounds around the property, the spaces inside, all help creating a great ambiance. Le Bourg is a very small village, but an easy drive to the attractions within the area, like Rocamadour, Padirac caves (don't miss it!), Figeac and Sarlat.

  • Merveilleux séjour

Posted by Amaury K. on 24/10/2015

  • A special house

    Posted by Roger on 06/10/2015

We have all been so busy just absorbing your fabulous home and all that it has to offer. Our friends are thrilled and over the top on it's charm, location and surroundings. From the lovely pool, which we have used every day, to the pool/dart room and the luxury of the kitchen when preparing meals, it is in a word "gracious"! And the one fabulous touch that I have to comment on is finding not one but two containers of HP sauce in the fridge. Lol. That ‎really was quite special. Thank you also Nick, for your complete and thorough list of information and recommendations. It has been so helpful as we follow your guidance when we decide on places to go or restaurants to visit.

  • Beautifully renovated stone manor

    Posted by Marvin on 02/10/2015

Met by the informative and charming Phillipe and toured through the house. Very tastefully and lavishly renovated and updated. Modern kitchen complete with every top of the line appliance. Large fireplaces with comfy couches and chairs, lots of Chinese antiques and curios. Beautiful game room, with new large pool table. Great patio and swimming pool. It was an absolute treat to spend 5 days here with friends, I highly recommend Maison Bourg!
