Finca Arbocar is based in the idyllic region of Pollensa, a place that expresses a keen sense of vitality and excitement. One of Pollensa’s most significant attractions is Formentor Lighthouse, which can be found just under an hour away from the town centre. This monumental landmark was first constructed in 1863 and was used to warn small fishing boats of the jagged structures that lie at the base of the shore. To this day, the lighthouse is used to keep the fishermen and the citizens of Pollensa safe and protected. This lighthouse is also considered to be a muse for some of Europe’s most prolific artists, such as Gerardo Diego and Blas de Otero. Guests are encouraged to take the short drive toward the 210-metre peak and bask in an assortment of panoramic views.
If you are looking to learn more about the vibrant and warming cultures that are seen throughout this region, a trip to Pollensa Market is a perfect way to do so. This expressive market boasts over 300 stalls, selling a variety of clothes, bags, and other artisan craft items. Thus, guests can meander through the vendors at their own pace, purchasing a range of authentic and traditional souvenirs to remind them of their wonderful trip. There is also a section dedicated to fresh produce, meaning that guests can pick up a few unusual ingredients to use in their own cooking back at Finca Arbrocar. Pollensa Market is just a stone’s throw away from the town centre and occurs every Wednesday from 8 am till 1:30 pm.
Placa de l’Almoina is a small but mighty square that can also be found just a short walk away from the town centre. Within this square is an old house that was once used to care for and protect some of the region’s poorest citizens. This house was run by wealthy university students who used their own money to provide essential wheat and funds to the town’s peasant population. In addition, this square was also the host of an archaic battle between the citizens of Pollensa and violent ambushers who decided to attack the town. In order to celebrate the bravery of these ordinary citizens, the modern-day population holds a moving ceremony every August.
