In a hilltop location just 9km from Albufeira, Villa Irisa is the ideal choice from which to explore the variety of the Algarve. Accommodating up to 10 guests in its five bedrooms, this villa enjoys stunning views from its extremely spacious terrace with a 10m x 5m swimming pool.
This villa is well placed for an enticing stretch of coast, which is home to the likes of upscale Vilamoura and the beautiful city of Portimão, as well as much-loved inland destinations like Silves. Surrounded by almond and fruit trees, it has verdant landscapes all around and makes the most of its large grounds with a dining area, mini-football pitch and a small basketball court.
A paved terrace surrounds the pool, with plenty of sun loungers and outdoor seating – views of the sea and mountains provide the perfect backdrop. The villa’s windows ensure these are just as prominent when you step inside. The house is in a pleasantly quiet spot, but only a short walk away from the nearest supermarket, restaurants and bars.
Air-conditioned throughout, Villa Iris features a living and dining area with a tiled floor, which gets lots of natural light. There are comfy sofas, a fireplace and large, wall-mounted TV, as well as Wi-Fi. Just through an archway, the kitchen is equipped with appliances from a coffee machine to a dishwasher and offers an additional dining space.
The bedrooms are furnished with some antique furnishings and colourful touches adding character. Four are in the main house (two doubles and two twins) along with two bathrooms, with a further twin in an outbuilding which also features another bathroom, kitchen and barbecue.
As well as Albufeira, Villa Irisa is also within easy reach of the area’s golf courses and water parks, which will be of particular interest to any younger visitors. And when you want to head for the beach, you’ll be just a short drive from the popular Praia dos Pescadores or Fishermen’s Beach – its golden sands are just a stone’s throw from Albufeira’s pretty Old Town.

About the surrounding area of Villa IrisaThe resort of Albufeira on Portugal’s Algarve is the largest and probably liveliest town on the coast. This means that, while not everything it has to offer is likely to be to your taste, there is a good chance there will be something that is.
The good news is that the excessive partying, stag dos and heavy drinking are largely confined to one area – The Strip – a good 2km east of the Old Town. It’s the latter area where the quieter, more relaxed Albufeira shows itself, with many traditional restaurants serving great seafood and Portuguese specialities. There are also more chic lounges and clubs to discover around the town.
As well as the extensive beaches, Albufeira offers many boat tours departing from the marina, from deep-sea fishing to dolphin watching and general sightseeing. The tourist train provides a fun way to get around on land, and public transport is generally inexpensive. If you’re travelling with children, you could also pay a visit to one of the area’s water parks.
Zoomarine adds wildlife including dolphins and tropical birds to the wave pools and flumes found at the likes of Slide & Splash. There is also a cinema, offering lots of film choices, located in the Algarve Shopping Center.
If Albufeira gets too full on, it’s easy to take a day trip to a quieter corner of the Algarve. Among local favourites are pretty Loulé and Silves, both of which will open your eyes to the real Portugal, with plenty of historical and architectural interest.

THE REGION
Albufeira is one of the Algarve's top hotspots. It's a charismatic beach town with an energetic and busy vibe where every type of holidaymaker can find something to enjoy. Not only is it family friendly and bursting with great activities for kids and teens, there is also a buzzing nightlife scene on the downtown strip for adults travelling on their own.
If you’re after something a bit more cultural, there is also a beautiful Old Town where all the best restaurants and historical sites can be found. For those looking to get a little bit extra out of their Albufeira stay, Vidamar Resort in the Salgados area offers all the perks of staying in a self-catered villa plus the amenities of a luxury resort.
Not far from there you’ll also come across the beachy Sao Rafael as well as Galé where the sandy stretches and deep blue waves will have you thinking you’re on the set of a photoshoot. Golf lovers might want to head to Amendoeira Golf Resort, located a quick fifteen minutes from Albufeira, which is perfect those who like a good game while still staying close to town.

Kids
Best Suited For: All AgesThere are lots the kids will love about both Villa Irisa and the Algarve, and the great thing is you can enjoy a lot of it together. At the villa, you have the private pool, sun terrace and basketball and volleyball, and just a few minutes away from the stunning beaches while lining the coast, with all sorts of activities waiting to be tried.
The local attractions deliver for the whole family too. The water parks like Aqualand and Zoomarine are always a good bet for a day out, and boat trips to see the dolphins are also popular. There are caves to explore just down the coast in Carvoeiro, and go-karting at the Albufeira marina, while young children will love the wildlife of the Krazy World zoo, around 15km north of Albufeira, which also has a bouncy castle, zip-wire, pool and mini-golf.

Amazing stay, perfect for our girls trip away
Amazing stay, perfect for our girls trip away. Villa provided everything we needed but was also close enough to villa moura / albufeira for beach days or meals out. We stayed as a party of 10 and just to make future people aware the pool house room does not have air-con therefore only 8 guests had air con. Communication prior to travelling and whilst we were staying at the villa was efficient and informative. Extremely grateful to have been able to check in sooner and check out later as our flight was a little later in the day. An amazing stay for anyone wanting a Portuguese get away.

We really enjoyed our stay
We really enjoyed our stay in the villa. Very nice house, with a separate garden house with a kitchen. The separate house was very cozy, but also necessary. Because the rooms were very close to the kitchen and living room. So with children in bed in the evening, it was better to sit in the garden house. Only possible with 4 adults. We only could not use the dishwasher in the kitchen of the pool. It was broken! All the rest was perfect!

Great home. Very accurate, and comfortable. Everything we needed was at our disposal. It is located in a quiet place which allowed us to relax and feel free to do whatever we wanted, but the transportation was made very easy by the great host: Pedro. He is the best host I have ever experienced. Always available, responsive, nice and fun. I totally recommend this awesome home for anyone traveling in Algarve.
