Ideal for Kids Walk to Beach Walk to Village All Bedrooms En-Suite

Sleeping ten lucky guests in luxurious comfort, Sea Queen Villa enjoys a dreamy location within 4km of the magical Venetian harbour of Chania Old Town and with four gorgeous Blue Flag beaches on the doorstep. Separated by a high wall from the natural park of Agii Apostoli, the villa enjoys a giant, totally secluded 5500 square metre plot in a peaceful area. You can walk from the lovely Agii Apostoli Beach to Kalamaki along a continuous stretch of golden sand finding atmospheric, friendly tavernas along the way. The sunsets along this marvellous stretch of coastline are phenomenal and the sea is crystal clear and very inviting.

Kalamaki and Agii Apostoli are laid-back resorts with a fantastic range of restaurants, bars and taverns plus a variety of shops. It is a wonderful area where you can truly relax and easily explore the many charms of Crete. If you don’t want to drive once you arrive at your villa, you can easily catch the local buses or take a taxi into Chania Old Town, Agia Marina or beyond. The Chania bus stop is just 50m from the villa. Chania Old Town is one of the most alluring, captivating towns of Crete. With picturesque, narrow alleys draped with colourful bougainvillea, a fabulous dining scene, atmospheric bars, the most amazing sunsets and gorgeous little boutiques lining the cobbled streets, you will quickly lose your heart and want to return time and time again. Crete is also home to three of the most sensational beaches in all of Greece, Balos Beach, Elafonissis and Falasarna. You really must try and visit at least one of them!

Sea Queen Villa comes with five bedrooms, all with ensuite bathrooms, exceptional living space and stunning outdoor space. It even has a children’s playground for the little ones! The open plan living space is drowned in natural light with giant glass doors opening to the terrace, pool and garden. Sumptuous contemporary furnishings keep it modern, bright and comfortable. The chef’s dream of a kitchen sits at the back with its wooden units, thick white worksurfaces and excellent stainless steel appliances. There is even a handy wine fridge to cool your delicious local white wines. The dining area is very spacious and enjoys gorgeous views out to the garden. Alternatively, you can head outside for some alfresco dining.

Four of the villa’s five bedrooms are also located on the ground floor while the dreamy master sits upstairs with stunning views. They are all heavenly havens with quality beds beautifully dressed in crisp cottons and with attractive soft furnishings. Two of the rooms enjoy double beds and two offer twins which are next to each other. All of the rooms boast immaculate ensuite shower rooms with top-of-the-range fittings. They also enjoy access to little patios or terraces. The master bedroom suite is fabulous with a beautifully dressed kingsize bed and a luxury bathroom with a hydro-massage bath and gorgeous views of the White Mountains.

The gardens and terraces are superb. Children are very well looked after with a little playground area with a playhouse, lots of toys and a children’s shallow section in the pool. The garden is lovely and perfect for family games. Next to the house is a brilliant built-in barbecue where your barbecue chefs can cook a delicious feast which you can enjoy in the shaded alfresco dining area. The sail canopies are trendy and very attractive. In addition, under a pergola, you will find a wonderful alfresco lounge area, the perfect spot for pre-dinner drinks. You can relax on quality loungers by the pool enjoying your holiday books.

Sea Queen Villa is a very popular villa with its very special location. It is so lovely to take a late night wander on the beach. Transport into the Old Town of Chania is excellent. One evening there will definitely not be enough!

What you should know…

  • If you are heading into Chania for dinner, it is best to pre-book a dinner table though there are also plenty of walk-ins. We thoroughly recommend the rooftop terrace for dinner at Pallas if you manage to get a table and Tamam on one of the charming little passageways
  • It can be difficult to park in Chania Town so you may prefer to catch the bus from the stop very close to the villa
  • The owner requests that external caterers are not booked to cook in the villa.

Sea Queen Villa enjoys a lovely position just metres from Agii Apostoli Beach and its natural park. The beach extends to Kalamaki, a very friendly, laid-back resort just outside of Chania. You will enjoy gorgeous sandy beaches, amazing restaurants and tavernas and some useful shops. There is even a huge LIDL close by for supplies. The beach restaurants are wonderful and generally always offer a glass of raki and some fruit or a mini pudding as a treat afterwards. There is a good range of restaurants, some serving traditional Greek specialities and others offering fine dining such Corinna Star at Corinna Mare in Kalamaki and the restaurant at the Domes Noruz Chania Hotel. You are very spoilt for choice if you decide not to cook in the villa!

Known as the Venice of the East, Chania Old Town is magical with unique shops lining its cobbled streets, a brilliant dining scene, trendy waterfront bars serving delicious cocktails and its famous Venetian harbour and imposing lighthouse. The harbour was originally built by the Venetians between 1320 and 1356 and is now a vibrant, cosmopolitan spot. The Egyptian lighthouse is much photographed, especially at sunset. You can take a slow meander to the lighthouse to take in the stunning views of the harbour, the Old Town and the backdrop of the majestic White Mountains. On the waterfront, the Giali Tzamisi is the oldest Muslim building in Crete. The Turkish name is translated to ‘The Seaside Mosque’. It plays host to various cultural events and exhibitions. You will also enjoy many buskers on the streets playing a wonderful selection of music.

Following the Minoan Palace of Knossos, the second most visited tourist attraction in Crete is the dramatic and imposing Samaria Gorge. It sits at the foothills of the White Mountains and is the longest and most famous gorge in Europe. Within the White Mountain’s National Park, it rises to an altitude of 1,230m, is 150m at its widest point and 3m at its narrowest and continues down to Agia Roumeli on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea. The park and gorge offer protection to over four hundred and fifty species of plant and animal, of which seventy are endemic to Crete. This includes the rare kri-kri which are wild goats.

Though the four local beaches are wonderful, you may want to spend a day on the exotic, spectacular, famous beaches of Balos, Falasarna or Elafonissi. If you get time to visit Balos Beach, you will remember it forever. In the protected ‘NATURA’ area of Balos Bay, its glistening white sand and turquoise sea is incredible. Not far away is another Cretan wonder, Falasarna, another nestled lagoon with pool like waters and pink sand. It has been awarded the best beach of Crete and one of the top ten beaches in Europe. Elafonissi is equally wonderful and worth the drive.

How to reach Chania

There are two ways to reach Chania: either by flight or by ferry.

By plane:
Chania Airport (CHQ) is only a 20 minutes ride away from central Chania. During the summer months, frequents overseas and domestic flights are performed. In most of the cases, there are available buses that connect Chania city and most of the villas. You can also hire a car from one of the many rental companies at the airport, or alternatively get a taxi to bring you right to your doorstep.

By ferry:
If you choose to do an island-hopping trip and use the ferry as a method of transportation, then the closest port is in Souda, only 8km from the centre of Chania. Only ferries from Piraeus in Athens or Heraklion in Crete. Heraklion port has a wider choice: you can also take a ferry from other Greek islands like Santorini, Mykonos or Paros, but you will have to take a longer bus ride to reach your villa. You can easily book your ferry tickets using the link below or the booking engine.

Sea Queen Villa is perfect for a family holiday. With five bedrooms, there may even be room for two families. The villa is contemporary and spacious. It enjoys a fabulous swimming pool, a lovely garden and a charming little children’s playground. There are also lots of children’s toys and board games provided. Sea Queen Villa is just minutes from four Blue Flag beaches. Two of the beaches enjoy volleyball courts for older ones. The water at these beaches is crystal clear and generally very shallow. There is a great choice of waterside tavernas and cafes.

Limnoupolis is a fun water park close to Chania boasting eleven exciting waterslides such as 100m giant slides, free fall slides, a black hole and triple twist slides, a kid’s pool and an artificial island. It also boasts a relaxing 130m lazy river, a huge swimming pool with a diving platform, a kiddie pool and a relaxation area.

Minoan’s World 3D Museum and 9D Cinema in Chania Town is popular. It is an immersive cinema where you can learn about the Minoan history while enjoying effects such as earthquakes and snow, bubbles and wind. There are many photo opportunities with murals in the background. The movie stars Zeus as a baby and as a God, abductions, flying too close to the sun and an eruption of the volcano in Santorini causing a devastasting tsunami that ended the Minoan era.

If you decide to visit Balos Beach, you can either drive or take a boat ride there. This is fun too. Just make sure you pack some refreshments and perhaps a beach parasol as there isn’t anything there to protect you from the sun.

The Botanical Park of Crete is a 20 hectare park, 18km from Chania. It boasts 150 species of fruit trees and hundreds of herbs, medicinal and ornamental plants that the Cretan mountains are famous for. It is home to many birds around the lake, butterflies, wild goat, hares, badgers, Cretan rock ferret, weasels and tree frogs. There is also a restaurant with amazing mountain views.

Lake Kournas is Crete’s largest freshwater lake and is fed by natural springs running off the Lefka Ori mountains. The water is 22m at its deepest and is a stunning turquoise colour. It is an excellent excursion with pedalos, lots of geese and terrapins and plenty of tavernas nearby. Close by is the Kanakis Olive Mill where you can learn all about the production of olive oil. You can taste the oil in the shop and pick up some souvenirs. You should also take a photograph with the 2000 year old olive tree outside.

  • Wonderful stay at this villa!

    on 25/08/2022

The villa itself was wonderful. Beautiful interiors, ideal layout and everything we needed. The master bedroom was particularly amazing with breathtaking views of the mountains. Clearly a lot of thought has gone into the structure and decoration.
The outside deck and pool area was excellent. Child friendly pool with ample room for the 10 of us. Really comgy sun loungers too. Outside shower was super useful.
The location of this villa is superb. Literally a stones throw from a selection of beautiful beaches each with its own uniqueness. So many restaurants within walking distance and a short bus ride to the old town. Bus stop is opposite the villa.
Villa manager was excellent. Really helpful, knowledgeable and thoughtful.
We would definitely be visiting again and would highly recommend. Luxury in a picturesque and unspoilt part of Crete.

  • Amazing holiday at Sea Queen Villa

    on 23/05/2022

We have just returned from an amazing holiday at sea queen villa. There were 4 adults and 2 children with more than enough room. All rooms and bathrooms are finished to a high standard. The master bedroom on the top floor is just stunning with two huge balconies. The photos on the website don't do it justice, it is even better we you see it in person. The outdoor area is completely private and is kept immaculate. More than enough sunbeds for all.
A huge thank you goes to Mike, who met us at check in and showed us around. He promptly answered and questions we had and made us feel very welcome. The villa has everything you need, including plenty of local restaurants and bars within a short walking distance, also two well stocked supermarkets just a 5 min walk away. The beaches are so close and are very clean. Just a stunning area. I can't recommend this place enough. We will certainly be returning.

  • Would book again without hesitation

    on 07/08/2021

A very enjoyable stay at a lovely villa in an excellent location. The property is elegantly desighned and well built with high quality materials, furniture and appliances. There's a very private swimming pool and each bedroom has it's own terrace. It's a 2-minute walk to a beautiful beach and there are restaurants and supermarkets nearby. The old town and harbour area of Chania are easy to reach by bus or taxi. The local team was friendly,k helpful and responded quickly to requests. Overall a great experience and we would boiok again without hesitation.

  • Perfect

    on 07/05/2019

Villa was perfect. Ideal location, great list of things to do and weather to top it

  • We will be back...

    on 23/04/2019

We have just got back from the first week in Easter 2019 and are a group of 2 families (2ad, 3child 5, 12, 14 and 2 ad, 2child 11, 15) and the Sea Queen villa and its host were fantastic for us!
Mike met us as promised and showed us around the 5 bed amazing villa. We had seen the impressive photos on the website and in the flesh it was even better. Mike talked us through lots of info for things to do, restaurants, supermarkets etc etc and gave us all his details for contact during our stay.
We could not work the dishwasher the 1st day and we texted Mike who responded within 30mins of what we were doing wrong and sorted it all out.
We loved staying there and the villa was the immaculate with attention to the finest detail and all facilities we could have wanted including 3 types of making coffee, a washing machine, outdoor BBQ area and most importantly the wine fridge.
We stayed a week and there was even a mid week clean and towel change (pool and bathroom towels for all)
The location is perfect with a park straight over the road and 3 minute walk to a great beach and 3 others within another 10 mins walking. Two supermarkets, several bars and restaurants and the nr 21 bus to get to Chania in around 15 minutes were all within a 3-10 minute walk of the villa.
Thanks Mike a fabulous place and we will be back!
    Yamas! (cheers)
    Simon and family

  • Magnificent!

    on 12/05/2018

Beautiful holiday villa, well designed, and located in the district of Chania. Staff at Oliver's Travel were polite and responsive to questions that I had. I would recommend this place for big groups (up to 10 adults).
