Overview
Sleeping ten lucky guests in luxurious comfort, Sea Queen Villa enjoys a dreamy location within 4km of the magical Venetian harbour of Chania Old Town and with four gorgeous Blue Flag beaches on the doorstep. Separated by a high wall from the natural park of Agii Apostoli, the villa enjoys a giant, totally secluded 5500 square metre plot in a peaceful area. You can walk from the lovely Agii Apostoli Beach to Kalamaki along a continuous stretch of golden sand finding atmospheric, friendly tavernas along the way. The sunsets along this marvellous stretch of coastline are phenomenal and the sea is crystal clear and very inviting.
Kalamaki and Agii Apostoli are laid-back resorts with a fantastic range of restaurants, bars and taverns plus a variety of shops. It is a wonderful area where you can truly relax and easily explore the many charms of Crete. If you don’t want to drive once you arrive at your villa, you can easily catch the local buses or take a taxi into Chania Old Town, Agia Marina or beyond. The Chania bus stop is just 50m from the villa. Chania Old Town is one of the most alluring, captivating towns of Crete. With picturesque, narrow alleys draped with colourful bougainvillea, a fabulous dining scene, atmospheric bars, the most amazing sunsets and gorgeous little boutiques lining the cobbled streets, you will quickly lose your heart and want to return time and time again. Crete is also home to three of the most sensational beaches in all of Greece, Balos Beach, Elafonissis and Falasarna. You really must try and visit at least one of them!
Sea Queen Villa comes with five bedrooms, all with ensuite bathrooms, exceptional living space and stunning outdoor space. It even has a children’s playground for the little ones! The open plan living space is drowned in natural light with giant glass doors opening to the terrace, pool and garden. Sumptuous contemporary furnishings keep it modern, bright and comfortable. The chef’s dream of a kitchen sits at the back with its wooden units, thick white worksurfaces and excellent stainless steel appliances. There is even a handy wine fridge to cool your delicious local white wines. The dining area is very spacious and enjoys gorgeous views out to the garden. Alternatively, you can head outside for some alfresco dining.
Four of the villa’s five bedrooms are also located on the ground floor while the dreamy master sits upstairs with stunning views. They are all heavenly havens with quality beds beautifully dressed in crisp cottons and with attractive soft furnishings. Two of the rooms enjoy double beds and two offer twins which are next to each other. All of the rooms boast immaculate ensuite shower rooms with top-of-the-range fittings. They also enjoy access to little patios or terraces. The master bedroom suite is fabulous with a beautifully dressed kingsize bed and a luxury bathroom with a hydro-massage bath and gorgeous views of the White Mountains.
The gardens and terraces are superb. Children are very well looked after with a little playground area with a playhouse, lots of toys and a children’s shallow section in the pool. The garden is lovely and perfect for family games. Next to the house is a brilliant built-in barbecue where your barbecue chefs can cook a delicious feast which you can enjoy in the shaded alfresco dining area. The sail canopies are trendy and very attractive. In addition, under a pergola, you will find a wonderful alfresco lounge area, the perfect spot for pre-dinner drinks. You can relax on quality loungers by the pool enjoying your holiday books.
Sea Queen Villa is a very popular villa with its very special location. It is so lovely to take a late night wander on the beach. Transport into the Old Town of Chania is excellent. One evening there will definitely not be enough!
What you should know…
- If you are heading into Chania for dinner, it is best to pre-book a dinner table though there are also plenty of walk-ins. We thoroughly recommend the rooftop terrace for dinner at Pallas if you manage to get a table and Tamam on one of the charming little passageways
- It can be difficult to park in Chania Town so you may prefer to catch the bus from the stop very close to the villa
- The owner requests that external caterers are not booked to cook in the villa.

Location
About the surrounding area of Sea Queen VillaSea Queen Villa enjoys a lovely position just metres from Agii Apostoli Beach and its natural park. The beach extends to Kalamaki, a very friendly, laid-back resort just outside of Chania. You will enjoy gorgeous sandy beaches, amazing restaurants and tavernas and some useful shops. There is even a huge LIDL close by for supplies. The beach restaurants are wonderful and generally always offer a glass of raki and some fruit or a mini pudding as a treat afterwards. There is a good range of restaurants, some serving traditional Greek specialities and others offering fine dining such Corinna Star at Corinna Mare in Kalamaki and the restaurant at the Domes Noruz Chania Hotel. You are very spoilt for choice if you decide not to cook in the villa!
Known as the Venice of the East, Chania Old Town is magical with unique shops lining its cobbled streets, a brilliant dining scene, trendy waterfront bars serving delicious cocktails and its famous Venetian harbour and imposing lighthouse. The harbour was originally built by the Venetians between 1320 and 1356 and is now a vibrant, cosmopolitan spot. The Egyptian lighthouse is much photographed, especially at sunset. You can take a slow meander to the lighthouse to take in the stunning views of the harbour, the Old Town and the backdrop of the majestic White Mountains. On the waterfront, the Giali Tzamisi is the oldest Muslim building in Crete. The Turkish name is translated to ‘The Seaside Mosque’. It plays host to various cultural events and exhibitions. You will also enjoy many buskers on the streets playing a wonderful selection of music.
Following the Minoan Palace of Knossos, the second most visited tourist attraction in Crete is the dramatic and imposing Samaria Gorge. It sits at the foothills of the White Mountains and is the longest and most famous gorge in Europe. Within the White Mountain’s National Park, it rises to an altitude of 1,230m, is 150m at its widest point and 3m at its narrowest and continues down to Agia Roumeli on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea. The park and gorge offer protection to over four hundred and fifty species of plant and animal, of which seventy are endemic to Crete. This includes the rare kri-kri which are wild goats.
Though the four local beaches are wonderful, you may want to spend a day on the exotic, spectacular, famous beaches of Balos, Falasarna or Elafonissi. If you get time to visit Balos Beach, you will remember it forever. In the protected ‘NATURA’ area of Balos Bay, its glistening white sand and turquoise sea is incredible. Not far away is another Cretan wonder, Falasarna, another nestled lagoon with pool like waters and pink sand. It has been awarded the best beach of Crete and one of the top ten beaches in Europe. Elafonissi is equally wonderful and worth the drive.

How to reach Chania
There are two ways to reach Chania: either by flight or by ferry.
By plane: Chania Airport (CHQ) is only a 20 minutes ride away from central Chania. During the summer months, frequents overseas and domestic flights are performed. In most of the cases, there are available buses that connect Chania city and most of the villas. You can also hire a car from one of the many rental companies at the airport, or alternatively get a taxi to bring you right to your doorstep.
By ferry: If you choose to do an island-hopping trip and use the ferry as a method of transportation, then the closest port is in Souda, only 8km from the centre of Chania. Only ferries from Piraeus in Athens or Heraklion in Crete. Heraklion port has a wider choice: you can also take a ferry from other Greek islands like Santorini, Mykonos or Paros, but you will have to take a longer bus ride to reach your villa. You can easily book your ferry tickets using the link below or the booking engine.
Kids
Best Suited For: All AgesSea Queen Villa is perfect for a family holiday. With five bedrooms, there may even be room for two families. The villa is contemporary and spacious. It enjoys a fabulous swimming pool, a lovely garden and a charming little children’s playground. There are also lots of children’s toys and board games provided. Sea Queen Villa is just minutes from four Blue Flag beaches. Two of the beaches enjoy volleyball courts for older ones. The water at these beaches is crystal clear and generally very shallow. There is a great choice of waterside tavernas and cafes.
Limnoupolis is a fun water park close to Chania boasting eleven exciting waterslides such as 100m giant slides, free fall slides, a black hole and triple twist slides, a kid’s pool and an artificial island. It also boasts a relaxing 130m lazy river, a huge swimming pool with a diving platform, a kiddie pool and a relaxation area.
Minoan’s World 3D Museum and 9D Cinema in Chania Town is popular. It is an immersive cinema where you can learn about the Minoan history while enjoying effects such as earthquakes and snow, bubbles and wind. There are many photo opportunities with murals in the background. The movie stars Zeus as a baby and as a God, abductions, flying too close to the sun and an eruption of the volcano in Santorini causing a devastasting tsunami that ended the Minoan era.
If you decide to visit Balos Beach, you can either drive or take a boat ride there. This is fun too. Just make sure you pack some refreshments and perhaps a beach parasol as there isn’t anything there to protect you from the sun.
The Botanical Park of Crete is a 20 hectare park, 18km from Chania. It boasts 150 species of fruit trees and hundreds of herbs, medicinal and ornamental plants that the Cretan mountains are famous for. It is home to many birds around the lake, butterflies, wild goat, hares, badgers, Cretan rock ferret, weasels and tree frogs. There is also a restaurant with amazing mountain views.
Lake Kournas is Crete’s largest freshwater lake and is fed by natural springs running off the Lefka Ori mountains. The water is 22m at its deepest and is a stunning turquoise colour. It is an excellent excursion with pedalos, lots of geese and terrapins and plenty of tavernas nearby. Close by is the Kanakis Olive Mill where you can learn all about the production of olive oil. You can taste the oil in the shop and pick up some souvenirs. You should also take a photograph with the 2000 year old olive tree outside.

A fantastic villa
Fantastic villa, great for a larger group. Wonderful outside space, the outdoor BBQ was easy to use, the kitchen is well equipped and the location is superb! Three minutes to a lovely sheltered beach that is great for toddlers (we had one) and a two minute walk to a bus into Chania. The walk along the seafront into to Chania takes around 25 minutes - it's flat all the way - but not suitable for a pram or buggy.
Everything about this place is top notch. The only downside is that it can be noisy at night with people having parties on the beach. But that's mostly because we like to have the windows open rather than use air conditioning!
There are two supermarkets within a 5-10 minute walk, a fantastic bakery 15 minutes away (on foot) and several places to eat near by.
We had a wonderful time (a party of 8 adults and one toddler). -
An exceptional experience
Sea Queen villa was an exceptional experience for us. The villa is extremely well situated, near to the beach and an easy bus ride to the centre of Chania. The children loved the generous pool and the villa itself is very well appointed. Mike the owner was very helpful giving us many tips about where to go in the area, which were the best restraints and so on. We would thoroughly recommend this villa.

Amazing Location
Set in an amazing location, opposite a lovely park with running track and children's playground and close by to several beautiful beaches and many authentic tavernas. This spacious and well equipped villa was perfect for our 3 generation family. With visits to the waterpark on the 'road train', sailing arund the coast on a speedboat,or wandering around the streets of Chania everyone was well catered for. Mike is an exceptional host and was there to greet us, answer any question. Made it clear we could contact him at anytime but was not intrusive. We nould not hesitate in recommending this villa and we are missing it already!

Excellent villa!
The villa was excellent! Our family of 10 had plenty of room inside and out in a spacious, contemporary, beautiful home with high ceilings and lots of natural light. The location was perfect - a two minute walk to the beach and dozens of restaurants within a 10 or 15 minute walk. One of our favourites was Golden Bay with a beautiful beach view. Highly recommend the villa, the location and our gracious host!

Perfect luxury villa
Location perfect in every way: beach, restaurants, shops/supermarkets within walking distance. Bus stop (line 21 to Chania Old Town) right across the street. Mike is a super host, whom you can always call upon. The house itself is fully equipped, all 5 bedrooms with private toilet/shower is luxury! Spacious rooms and plenty of seating outside. Lovely pool with sun beds. Kitchen is also fine and the washing machine was very convenient, especially with small children.. Νothing but praise for this wonderful vacation home. Warmly recommended!

Beatiful Villa in an excelent location
Beautiful villa, in an excellent location. Decor fresh and all 5 bedrooms are of a good size with the master bedroom like having your own penthouse suite with large shower and jetted bathtub. We loved the privacy Sea Queen offers. Large outdoor space, good sized pool, plenty of loungers and seating. The interior of the villa is very spacious, it looks even bigger than the pictures! Great kitchen with dishwasher and good size fridge freezer and a wine chiller. There is a good variety of quality restaurants locally, the villa is situated within easy walking distance from the picturesque coastline and lovely beaches, just a stroll though the park opposite. The bus to Chania old town stops just outside the villa really convenient and supermarkets within a 5 - 10 minute walk. We had a very enjoyable stay at this villa, the host Michael is available to contact and made us feel at home. Booking was a breeze and he made us feel very welcome and arranged our transfers to and from the airport. If you are looking to stay in Chania this villa is hard to beat we found it offered great value for money with regards its location and luxury.

What a great holiday
This villa is stunning, spacious and immaculately presented. The photos really don't do it justice. It took us a while to find something that would suit our adult family and friends and this villa certainly ticked all the boxes. It's perfectly located opposite a big park that leads to a lovely little sandy beach. Some nice restaurants and bars to choose from. An easy (and inexpensive) air-conditioned bus ride into Chania Old Town. Beautiful pool and secluded garden. Great BBQ and outside dining area. Plenty of secure parking. The four double bedroom are equally and well-proportioned with lovely en suites. The master suite on the first floor is absolutely beautiful and huge! Mike is an excellent host. Very welcoming and happy to help with any query about the villa, Chania or the wider area. What a great holiday!

The most beautiful villa, I cannot fault it
Location - we really enjoyed the location of the villa, it is in a less touristy area of Chania and opposite the most beautiful beaches. You have a choice of many amazing bays all within walking distance, where the sunbeds are not too expensive and each beach has its own beach bar serving drinks and snacks, very easy accessible and the beach has disability ramps where it allows wheelchair uses to use a mechanism that gets them into the sea! I have not seen this before. Bus that easily gets you into Chania old town only around 15 minutes away, much busier here! There are super markets and lovely restaurants close by, with many beautiful shops to look around. Restaurants within a few minutes of walking distance which serve lovely local dishes and the prices are very reasonable. Villa - beautiful rooms, each with their own bathroom. Amazing seating area and the most wonderful pool, kitchen has everything you need and everything was clean. I will miss waking up here every morning! Our host Mike was very responsive to our family and ensured we had everything we needed for our stay, helping us to book taxis where required and answering any questions.

Wonderful stay at this villa!
The villa itself was wonderful. Beautiful interiors, ideal layout and everything we needed. The master bedroom was particularly amazing with breathtaking views of the mountains. Clearly a lot of thought has gone into the structure and decoration.
The outside deck and pool area was excellent. Child friendly pool with ample room for the 10 of us. Really comgy sun loungers too. Outside shower was super useful.
The location of this villa is superb. Literally a stones throw from a selection of beautiful beaches each with its own uniqueness. So many restaurants within walking distance and a short bus ride to the old town. Bus stop is opposite the villa.
Villa manager was excellent. Really helpful, knowledgeable and thoughtful.
We would definitely be visiting again and would highly recommend. Luxury in a picturesque and unspoilt part of Crete. -
Amazing holiday at Sea Queen Villa
We have just returned from an amazing holiday at sea queen villa. There were 4 adults and 2 children with more than enough room. All rooms and bathrooms are finished to a high standard. The master bedroom on the top floor is just stunning with two huge balconies. The photos on the website don't do it justice, it is even better we you see it in person. The outdoor area is completely private and is kept immaculate. More than enough sunbeds for all.
A huge thank you goes to Mike, who met us at check in and showed us around. He promptly answered and questions we had and made us feel very welcome. The villa has everything you need, including plenty of local restaurants and bars within a short walking distance, also two well stocked supermarkets just a 5 min walk away. The beaches are so close and are very clean. Just a stunning area. I can't recommend this place enough. We will certainly be returning. -
Would book again without hesitation
A very enjoyable stay at a lovely villa in an excellent location. The property is elegantly desighned and well built with high quality materials, furniture and appliances. There's a very private swimming pool and each bedroom has it's own terrace. It's a 2-minute walk to a beautiful beach and there are restaurants and supermarkets nearby. The old town and harbour area of Chania are easy to reach by bus or taxi. The local team was friendly,k helpful and responded quickly to requests. Overall a great experience and we would boiok again without hesitation.

We will be back...
We have just got back from the first week in Easter 2019 and are a group of 2 families (2ad, 3child 5, 12, 14 and 2 ad, 2child 11, 15) and the Sea Queen villa and its host were fantastic for us!
Mike met us as promised and showed us around the 5 bed amazing villa. We had seen the impressive photos on the website and in the flesh it was even better. Mike talked us through lots of info for things to do, restaurants, supermarkets etc etc and gave us all his details for contact during our stay.
We could not work the dishwasher the 1st day and we texted Mike who responded within 30mins of what we were doing wrong and sorted it all out.
We loved staying there and the villa was the immaculate with attention to the finest detail and all facilities we could have wanted including 3 types of making coffee, a washing machine, outdoor BBQ area and most importantly the wine fridge.
We stayed a week and there was even a mid week clean and towel change (pool and bathroom towels for all)
The location is perfect with a park straight over the road and 3 minute walk to a great beach and 3 others within another 10 mins walking. Two supermarkets, several bars and restaurants and the nr 21 bus to get to Chania in around 15 minutes were all within a 3-10 minute walk of the villa.
Thanks Mike a fabulous place and we will be back!
Yamas! (cheers)

Magnificent!
Beautiful holiday villa, well designed, and located in the district of Chania. Staff at Oliver's Travel were polite and responsive to questions that I had. I would recommend this place for big groups (up to 10 adults).
