Located in the North East of the Isle of Skye, Loch Dunvegan House is perched on the edge of the Sea, with dramatic views across the beautiful countryside to match the remote location. The largest of the Inner Hebrides, Skye is home to some of Scotland's most iconic landscapes. A real escape from the world, the area is celebrated by outdoor enthusiasts, with striking views in every direction you look. Skye can be visited for a few days whilst on a tour of Scotland or you can stay for a longer spell, but either way the island is sure to enchant you, with its mountain ranges, miles of dramatic coastline and captivating history.

The Isle of Skye is connected to Scotland’s northwest coast by a bridge, and the drive itself is something to be remembered. Known for its rugged landscapes, picturesque fishing villages and medieval castles, Skye is arguably one of the most magical places in the UK. Loch Dunvegan House is a brilliant base for exploring all the Isle has to offer, with Dunvegan Castle and Gardens a mere 5-minute drive away, whilst the likes of Neist point, Coral beach, the Talisker Distillery and The Old Man of Stor are all within easy reach by car.

The immediate area offers you conveniences, with a small convenience store, post office, restaurant, bar and bus stop, whilst the wider area provides supermarkets and more shops, on top of a fantastic array of outdoor activities. The house is perfectly positioned for walking, sea and loch fishing, cycling, mountain biking and even bird watching, spectacular scenery is in abundance, and you only have to walk out your front door to enjoy it! For golfers, the Isle of Skye Golf Club is in Sconser, a 35-minute drive from the house. Both land and sea offer so much to explore, no trip is long enough on the Isle of Skye!

Of course, as with any trip to Scotland, the weather is unpredictable, and it can often feel as though you have seen multiple seasons in one day! With this in mind, make sure you pack for rain and shine alike, and if you are visiting in the summer months, pop some insect spray in your bag as well!
