Overview

Pool Walk to Beach Walk to Village Not for little ones

Casa Sant Lluis has been recently renovated and offer 4 gorgeous bedrooms for 8 guests. It is constructed using the famous, honey coloured Balearic mares stone which adds a very warm and welcoming ambience. The stone is left exposed in all of the rooms with the odd splash of dazzling white render. This is a very spacious villa with plenty of space, inside and out.

The villa is located in the popular, family friendly resort of Binibeca. Binibeca is peaceful, idyllic and very pretty. It boasts an excellent fine white sandy beach with a shaded picnic area. There are rocks on both side where snorkelers enjoy hours of pleasure. Kayaks, electric fun boats and sun loungers are available for hire. The picturesque Binibeca Vell is an old traditional Menorcan fishing village in an area of outstanding natural beauty, boasting whitewashed villas adorned with colourful flowers.

Casa Sant Lluis is built on one level with a huge open plan living room where the different areas are divided with impressive stone arches. It is very attractive. At one end, you will discover the excellent kitchen with its plentiful appliances. It offers a sociable breakfast bar where guests can keep the chef in your group company.

Next to the kitchen area is an atmospheric dining space with its characterful vaulted ceiling and a wall of glass doors drowning the space in natural light and offering access to the terrace. The beautiful living area enjoys a sumptuous contemporary corner sofa and an enormous, gorgeous feature fireplace. Guests enjoy a smart television with Netflix and Amazon Prime. Casa Sant Lluis offers superb comfort with its wonderful blend of modern and traditional design.

The sensational master bedroom suite is entered though a huge dressing room. In keeping with traditional Menorcan style, the bathroom is a total wonder with its sunken shower and curved edges. You will wake up in the morning in your comfortable double bed to open the shutters and enjoy fabulous views through the large picture windows. From the entrance hall, you will discover another two double bedrooms which share a bathroom with two sinks and a curved half bath with a large shower overhead. Like the master, these bedrooms enjoy exposed stone walls and beamed ceilings. The final, annex bedroom is reached via the kitchen. It enjoys a small double bed and an ensuite bathroom with a large walk in shower.

The villa’s terrace provides shaded alfresco dining and a gorgeous corner sofa lounge area. From this spacious terrace you can take the steps down to the contemporary sun deck with its fixed daybeds overlooking the pool. Further steps lead to the 9m x 4m swimming pool where there are more modern sun loungers. A major plus of Casa Sant Lluis is a stunning roof terrace which boasts stunning panoramic sea views. It also offers an outdoor kitchen and alfresco dining. It is a wonderful spot where you will relax in true style!

Binibeca is a lovely resort, perfect for visitors looking to relax and enjoy fabulous beaches and a peaceful environment. It is very popular. The gorgeous beach is protected by a headland with rocks popular for snorkeling. There is a beach bar which is a converted fishermans hut. To the west of the 3km sandy beach is Binibeca Vell, an appealing, idyllic, old traditional Menorcan fishing village in an area of outstanding natural beauty. It is very picturesque with whitewashed villas adorned with colourful flowers. You can buy local produce at the market. The atmospheric labyrinth of cobbled streets is lined with unique boutiques selling leather goods and jewellery.

Just along the coast you will discover the beautiful beaches of Cala en Porter and Son Bou, the longest stretch of dazzling sand on the island. Cala en Porter has charming artisan cobblers and jewellery designers selling their goods in the town. It is set on the cliffs of a stunning bay in a now protected nature area and is well loved by visitors for its excellent restaurants, bars, nightclubs and on some evenings you will find little pop-up market stalls. It. As the light fades the frogs in the nature reserve begin their nightly chorus. The coast has two delights, Covas den Xoroi and Cales Coves - wonderful for snorkeling, swimming and sun bathing. Covas den Xoroi is located in spectacular natural cave 25m above the sea with outdoor platforms to gaze at the incredible sunsets and listen to live music.

Ciutedella, known as ‘Vella I Belli’ (‘Old and Beautiful’), is Menorca’s second city. It is definitely worth a visit and boasts a picturesque port and an enchanting old quarter lined with grand gold-tinged buildings. The medieval streets are filled with palaces, churches and fortresses as well as outstanding restaurants and bars. Placa d’es Born is one of the most picturesque squares in Ciutedella. Waterside dining can be found at the port. If you get there early enough you can watch the fishermen bringing in the local catch of the day. You can also catch a ferry from here to Alcudia in Mallorca. Ciutedella celebrates its local festival on 23 and 24 June each year, one of the most spectacular festivals in Menorca.

The island’s picturesque capital Mahon is known locally as Mao and is a lively city rich in history and culture. The 18th century gin distillery is very interesting and there are many independent shops selling leather, pottery and other crafts as well as boutiques and restaurants.  Close to the Placa Espanya is the pretty 18th century Carme church. Next door is the buzzy early morning fish market. Mahon is well known for its classy nightlife and waterfront bars and clubs. Mahon’s huge natural harbour is best seen on a boat trip. There are many, including glass-bottomed boats.

THE REGION

The mellow island of Menorca drums to a slower beat than siblings Mallorca and Ibiza, and therefore perfect if you’re looking for a holiday of rest and relaxation. The easternmost Balearic Island is lined by some of the most beautiful beaches in the Mediterranean: long swathes of powder-fine sand give way to rocky calas (bays) lapped by pale blue waters.

While you’re enjoying one of our fantastic villas in Menorca you may well want to explore everything else the region has to offer – so we’ve put together this handy travel guide to give you a little help and inspiration!

Menorca’s beaches and warm, azure seas are wonderful for families. There are a range of beaches with rocks to climb, shallow water to splash and swim in, sandy coves to build sandcastles and fantastic water sports and boat outings. The beach at Binibeca is absolutely fabulous with some watersports, a great beach bar and lovely shallow water, ideal for the young ones. Horse riding is very popular on Menorca and a magical experience is to ride on the beach at Cala Galdana. An ancient bridle path follows the coastline of Menorca for 185km around the island. There are shorter routes suitable for young children. The Son Angel Riding Stables offers riding experiences for children as young as four years old and five day excursions for more experienced riders. Many of the riding stables on the island offer short pony rides for children.

Menorca’s zoo, Lloc de Menorca Zoo, roughly 10 minutes from the island’s capital, boasts a range of native species from the island and exotic animals from all over the world. There are horses, cows, goats, tortoises, fish, birds, exotic animals and reptiles. It features several walks through landscaped enclosures where animals roam free and small children can can touch, hold and feed some of the animals. There is a small museum, a children’s playground and a picnic and barbecue area.

Another popular excursion is a jeep safari. Suitable for children over the age of six, it is a fabulous bumpy ride enjoying ancient ruined settlements, woodland and hills, rough tracks and wild beaches. You will discover Menorca’s rich archaeological history, important sites and the island’s flora and fauna. It is a brilliant way to explore the island.

Aquarock Waterpark at Cala en Bosch is a collection of aquatic fun, electronic amusements, trampolines and go karting. It enjoys thrilling waterslides, a large swimming pool with a wave machine, a splash pool for young children, water jets and a whirlpool. The water park at Arenal Den Castell at the Marina Park hotel is also open to visitors. It has a lazy river, wave pool, splash pools as well as slides and tubes. Club Sant Jaime is a waterpark open to all with water chutes, various pools including a baby pool and bars and cafes. Aquapark Los Delfines is another water park with wet and dry fun.
