This extraordinary villa can be found in Pollensa, a quaint town that is shrouded in history and culture. The Pollensa Market is located in the main square, which is just a short walk away from the town centre and allows guests to absorb all of the exquisite local customs that this town has to offer. Boasting over 300 stalls, this market offers a wide variety of clothes, bags, and artisan craft items, allowing guests to pick up a collection of interesting souvenirs to remind them of their trip. There is even a section of this market that is dedicated to fresh produce. As such, guests can buy some unique ingredients to use in their own cooking back at Luis Pollensa. The Pollensa Market occurs every Sunday and welcomes guests from 8 am till 1:30 pm.

Pollensa is also well recognised for its bustling food scene, attracting both tourists and locals from far and wide. Q11 Restaurant is an acclaimed establishment within this region that focuses on seasonal gastronomy. This means that the talented chefs only use ingredients that are in season, creating a fresh and indulgent meal every time. This restaurant provides a wide range of menu options, such as an expertly cooked rack of lamb as well as traditional patatas bravas. There is also an assortment of wines on offer, all of which can be traced back to a local winery within the area. Q11 Restaurant is just a stone’s throw away from the town centre and is open from 12 pm till 10:30 pm.

If you are looking to uncover more about the religious history of Pollensa, Puig de Maria is a must-see attraction. Located just over 5-minutes away, this landmark hosts a small monastery that sits at the very top of a large hill. Although this monastery originally dates back to the 14th century, it showcases an authentic Gothic style due to an intense renovation in the late 19th century. Guests can enter the monastery and learn more about the well-preserved artefacts and fixtures that are scattered around the building. The hike to the top of Puig de Maria takes around 30-minutes, making it fairly accessible for most guests.

THE REGION

Pollensa, in the north of the island, is an ancient town of attractive narrow streets and an impressive main square, lined with cafés, restaurants and bars, and is just a few kilometres from Port de Pollensa.

The town has several places of interest to visit, including the Roman bridge, signposted ‘Pont Roma’, which is still in use, and the Puig de Pollensa – a small mountain topped by a monastery just outside the town. Pollensa is also an ideal location for families due to the wide selection of alluring tourist attractions found within this region. Formentor Lighthouse is an extremely significant landmark and resides just under an hour away from the town centre. First built in 1863, this lighthouse was used to guide small fishing boats away from the jagged rocks at the base of the shore. In the 21st century, this monument still holds the same important purpose, protecting the local fishermen and citizens of Pollensa for generations. It takes around 30-minutes to drive to the top of the lighthouse, allowing guests to gain a spectacular assortment of panoramic views as they drive past. Formentor Lighthouse is also a vital aspect of the literary world, providing key inspiration to writers such as Gerardo Diego and Blas de Otero.

Joan March Gardens are just under 10-minutes away from the town centre of Pollensa and offer an abundance of natural landscapes for guests to explore at their own pace. These gardens were built in the late 1980s in honour of Joan March, the eldest son of the March Family. This family helped to boost Pollensa’s economy and financial prospects with their intuitive business ventures. This park is best known for its variety of native olive trees and collection of unique plants. Guests can meander through this landmark and learn more about the ecosystems that exist within this wondrous region. The Joan March Gardens are also open 24 hours a day, meaning that guests can visit the park at any time during their stay in Pollensa.

The Pollensa Museum is just a short walk away from the town centre and is an ideal place to visit if you are looking for a few free attractions to experience during your visit. The museum was first built in the 16th century and was used to showcase a range of ornate Gothic altarpieces. During the 1960s, this establishment received a large amount of praise for this collection, particularly at the Summer Exhibition of Painting. The Pollensa Museum was finally founded in 1975 and is home to the works of Atilio Boveri and a range of Buddhist artefacts. Guests can visit the museum every weekday from 10 am till 2 pm free of charge.
