Pollensa showcases a catalogue of expressive tourist attractions, providing an exciting getaway for any type of traveller. Puig de Maria is one of the region’s most iconic landmarks and signifies the rich religious history of this area. At the top of a looming 330-metre summit sits an archaic 14th-century monastery. This monastery was first used as a shrine to the Virgin Mary but was forced to close in 1564. Luckily, it was able to reopen in 1638, presenting the monument that we see before us today. Guests are welcome to explore the interior of the building and are able to observe the collection of well-preserved artefacts in more detail. Puig de Maria is around 10-minutes away from the centre of the region and it is said that it only takes half an hour to climb to the top of the hill.

For lovers of European art, the Pollensa Museum highlights the works of an assortment of local artists, such as the great Atilio Boveri. However, this incredible location was once seen as a humble storage unit that contained a range of ornate Gothic altarpieces. These pieces managed to attract a wealth of attention over the decades, especially at the Summer Exhibition of Painting during the 1960s. In 1975, the museum finally opened its doors to the public and had gone on to be one of the region’s most respected institutions. The Pollensa Museum is located just a stone’s throw away from the town centre and is open Monday-Friday from 10 am till 2 pm. It should also be noted that this museum is free to enter for all guests, making it a very affordable attraction.

If you are travelling to Pollensa in November, you have the chance to visit La Fira, the town’s unconventional craft fair. During these festivities, guests will be transported back to the 18th century, giving them the opportunity to purchase a wealth of traditional items such as woven hats and bags. This festival has been operating since 1784, exemplifying its great significance within the local community. La Fira usually occurs on the fourth Sunday after Saint Lucas, which is usually the second Sunday in November. These events occur outside of Saint Domingo’s Cloister, which is located just over 5-minutes away from the centre of Pollensa.

THE REGION

Pollensa is also accommodating of children, particularly with its expansive collection of exciting attractions and destinations. If you are looking to discover more information about the alluring biodiversity of this region, a trip to Joan March Gardens is a real treat. First established in the late 1980s, this landscape was originally used to commend the life of the eldest son of the March family. Joan March and his relatives are best known throughout this area for their use of intuitive business ventures that helped to push Pollensa into an economic boom. Guests are free to explore these gardens at their own pace, experiencing a range of rare olive and cypress trees in a more intimate fashion. Moreover, these slim cypress trees are very famous throughout this region, as they are often seen on the town’s official coat of arms. The Joan March Gardens are based just under 10-minutes away and are open 24 hours a day.

Pollensa Market is another iconic attraction within this region and can be found just a short walk away from the town centre. This considerable market contains over 300 stalls, all of which are accompanied by knowledgeable and experienced vendors. As such, guests can meander through the stalls and observe a wide range of artisan goods such as clothes, bags, and handmade jewellery. Alongside these desirable products, the market also presents a separate section that is dedicated to fresh produce. This means that guests can purchase a few ingredients to use in their own cooking back at Casa Narvaro. The Pollensa Market welcomes guests every Sunday from 8 am to 1:30 pm.

If you are travelling with children who have more established tastes, Q11 Restaurant can provide a delectable dining experience that you will never forget. This Restaurant serves a diverse array of divine menu options, such as expertly prepared lamb ribs as well as indulgent lobster tagliatelle. Guests can also delve into a series of remarkable desserts, helping to appease any type of sweet tooth. Q11 Restaurant can be found around 10-minutes away from the centre of Pollensa and is open every day from 12 pm to 10:30 pm.

  • Peaceful surroundings

    on 07/09/2022

We loved the modern feel to the villa. Very private and peaceful. We liked the way the pool was set out further down the garden which again added to the peacefulness. Cleaners did an excellent job as place was very clean. Bedrooms were comfortable and plenty wardrobe space. Showers were excellent. We liked it so much that my daughter and friends are booking it again next year. Ps - the coffee machine was A1.
