Casa Mastaguera is based in Pollensa, an idyllic region that has captured the hearts and minds of tourists for many years. Pollensa Market can be found just a stone’s throw away from the town centre and is a great place to visit if you are looking to blend in with the locals of this community. This market is truly expansive and hosts more than 300 stalls each week, pulling in unique vendors from across the region. During their time at this market, guests have the chance to purchase a range of diverse items, such as artisan clothes, bags, and jewellery. There is even a separate section devoted to fresh produce. Therefore, guests are encouraged to purchase a range of fruit and vegetables that can be used in their own cooking back at Casa Mastaguera. The Pollensa Market occurs every Wednesday from 8 am to 1:30 pm.

Alzinaret Caves are a remarkable prehistoric landmark that is located around 10-minutes away from Pollensa town centre. These archaic structures seem to date back to 1600 BC, hosting a wide variety of fascinating artefacts that were originally sourced from the Middle Bronze Age. Guests can experience these artefacts in a more intimate way as they travel through the collection of structures. Although these caves have a very long history, they were only discovered in 1927. British archaeologist Wilfred Hemp noted these caves in his inventory and now has a cave named Number 7 of Hemp in his honour.

If you are looking to become more mindful of your beautiful surroundings, a visit to Joan March Gardens can help you reconnect with nature. These idyllic grounds were first formed in the late 1980s as a way to commemorate the eldest son of the March family. This group of individuals is best known for their prosperous business tactics that helped this small town to see incredible riches. The gardens are filled with a diverse array of horticulture, such as looming olive trees and rare botanical plants. There is even a large number of slim cypress trees which are commonly seen on the town’s traditional coat of arms. Joan March Gardens are just under 10-minutes away from the centre of the region and are open 24 hours a day.

Pollensa is very welcoming to children and presents a wide variety of fascinating tourist attractions for them to explore. If you are a lover of European art, Pollensa Museum showcases a diverse range of eclectic pieces, such as Buddhist mandalas and the works of Atilio Boveri. This museum was first built in the 16th century as a way to store a plethora of ornate Gothic altarpieces. These pieces were truly stunning and received a large amount of attention from those in artistic circles. In fact, these pieces received a lot of praise during the Summer Exhibition of Painting which occurred during the 1960s. Despite its worldly acclaim, the museum did not open its doors until 1975 and now welcomes a large selection of guests on a regular basis. The Pollensa Museum is just a short walk away and welcomes guests every Monday-Friday from 10 am till 2 pm.

Puig de Maria is a deeply significant religious landmark that can be found around 10-minutes away from the centre of Pollensa. At the top of this expansive hill sits a small monastery that dates back to the 14th century. This quaint monastery was built to signify the region’s devotion to the Virgin Mary. Even though it was deeply appreciated throughout the region, the monastery had to close its doors in 1564 and did not reopen until 1638. Nowadays, it is regarded as a very popular tourist attraction that allows guests to marvel at the wide assortment of well-preserved artefacts that are on show. Many previous guests have explained that it only takes around half an hour to reach the peak of Puig de Maria. Therefore, this is regarded as a very accessible hike for a majority of tourists.

This region is also well recognised for its ever-growing food scene, with establishments such as Q11 Restaurant being located just a few minutes away. This restaurant is truly unique as it focuses on an alluring concept known as seasonal gastronomy. As such, these professional chefs will only use the freshest ingredients in their culinary creations. Guests have the chance to delve into a wide array of menu options, such as expertly roasted prawns and scallops, as well as freshly prepared sea bass served in a white wine sauce. Q11 Restaurant is open every day from 12 pm till 10:30 pm.

  • Casa Mastaguera

    on 14/08/2019

Beautiful outdoor area, good kitchen equipment, quiet location.

  • Beautiful finca in the countryside with pool and well-kept garden to relax

    on 23/05/2019

The finca is spacious and fully equipped. Furniture, kitchen utensils, outdoor barbecue, crockery and cutlery all work and are available in sufficient quantity. The garden is lovingly designed and planted, you will find several favourite places to sit, lie down, enjoy. The covered terrace is nice and big to sit outside even in bad weather. The property has a pleasant size, few other houses are distant in sight but not disturbing at all. The wide view goes over the countryside from the immediate surroundings to the Tramuntana. Despite the relatively secluded location, the beautiful town of Pollensa with extensive strolling and shopping possibilities is quickly reached. The service is discreet, unobtrusive and very friendly as well as quickly accessible. All in all, an absolutely positive impression and a nice holiday week with a great repeat factor.
