Cas Fusteret is situated just under 5 minutes away from the centre of Pollensa, a region that is well-celebrated for its charming pace of life and its diverse portfolio of iconic landmarks. One of the area’s most significant monuments is Formentor Lighthouse, which can be found just over 40 minutes away from the villa. First crafted in 1863, this looming lighthouse was designed to protect small and delicate fishing boats from the impregnable rocks that are based at the bottom of the shore. This monument is also a key aspect of European literature, becoming a key source of inspiration for prolific writers such as Gerardo Diego. As such, guests are encouraged to take a short drive toward the top of the monument and bask in the panoramic views that surround them.
Placa de l’Alomonia is another key historical landmark and is considered to be a real treat for any history lover. This bustling square is home to a large house that was once run by a collection of affluent university students. These individuals often used their own money to feed and care for the community’s peasant population. This square also hosted a ferocious battle back on the 15th of May 1550 when a collection of violent attackers decided to ambush the town. In order to celebrate the bravery of these citizens, the modern-day population holds a moving ceremony every August. Placa de l’Alomonia is based around 5 minutes away from Cas Fusteret.
If you wish to learn more about the alluring nuances of the European art scene, you must take the time to visit the Pollensa Museum. This establishment was first used as a vast storage unit in order to protect a unique collection of Gothic altarpieces. These items were celebrated in their own right and even received praise at the prestigious Summer Exhibition of Painting back in the 1960s. Nowadays, guests can examine every element of this mesmerising attraction and even get up close and personal with the eclectic works of Atillo Boveri. An added bonus of this landmark is that it is free to enter, making it an ideal option for those travelling on a budget. The Pollensa Museum is located just a few minutes away from the villa.
