Location
About the surrounding area of Villa Vista CiesVilla Vista Cies is located in the pretty Rias Baixas region of Spain, an area famous for its fine wines and beautiful sandy beaches - the ideal holiday combo! This beautiful coastal area is the ideal destination for holidaymakers looking to unwind and relax and filled with many quaint fishing villages dotted along the coast.
Nearby to the villa is Cangas, a town bursting with historical and artistic heritage, and offers visitors a wide range of activities to enjoy, including coastal walking trails and tours of the town's old quarter. Cangas is famous for its delicious seafood dishes, and you'll find plenty of food and wine tours in the region where you'll have the chance to sample the local culinary offerings paired with delicious regional wines.
You'll find one of the best examples of Renaissance architecture here in the town; the beautiful Church of Santiago de Cangas and Cies Isles, as well as the fountain and statue, along with plenty of elegant 19th and early 20th century houses dotted along the promenade. Fishing plays a huge part in the town's history, and we recommend heading to the fish auction house of Cangas during your stay, where most of the fish and seafood from the Atlantic coast are auctioned off to local markets and restaurants - you may even be able to grab something fresh and delicious to grill up back at the villa!
Afterwards, why not head to the Old Masso Factory, one of the most important places in the town, which is famous for its canning and fishing history, and which once employed over a thousand local people.
As you head along the coast, you'll come to the popular Limens beach, featuring picturesque views, clear and calm turquoise waters, and fine white sand. Although this beautiful sandy stretch can get quite crowded during the summer months, its stunning good looks and a wide array of amenities make it a great choice for families, with good parking facilities, easy accessibility, beachside restaurants and toilets. In addition to swimming and sunbathing, visitors here can enjoy a variety of watersports, including surfing and kayaking.

About the Region & Getting There
About Galicia
Like many parts of Spain, Galicia has its very own identity that has remained intact through its regional dialect and distinguishing culture. Although Galicia is recognised for its holy traditions, we urge budding tourists to also consider its astonishing green countryside & rivers and its UNESCO World Heritage sites. Occasionally you may even hear the gentle tootling of bagpipes, known locally as the Galician Gaita, along this northern corner of the Iberian Peninsula.
You're likely to fly into Santiago de Compostela, which is the capital of Galicia and is probably best known for the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage and its route. Many of the travellers embark on this journey by foot and tend to be mesmerised by this fine city at the end of their trek. Casco Viejo, or the Old Town, is a good place to end or even start your holiday. This area of the city is blessed with markets, restaurants, bars and buildings from a bygone era. After exhausting yourself in the busyness of the city, take a day trip to Praia de Rodas, on the gorgeous Cíes Islands. These small islands, accessible by boat from Vigo, Baiona, or Cangas, have been noted as having some of the best beaches in the world. It has to be seen to be believed!
Galicia is divided into four key regions: A Coruña, Lugo, Ourense and our favourite – Pontevedra. A Galician proverb states that 'Pontevedra gives water to travellers'. We firmly believe this to be true, as this particular part of Galicia has everything a traveller could need for an unforgettable experience and it almost feels like this city is constantly giving back. Whilst you holiday in Pontevedra you will realise that days are structured around mealtime. And why wouldn't they be? With some of the best seafood you will experience in Spain and the noteworthy Albariño wine, you may notice your jeans feeling a little tighter toward the end of your holiday. You will be glad to know that your waistline need not be a cause for concern though! Pontevedra is blessed with some of the best hiking trails, medieval monasteries, estuaries, and valleys within Spain. Don't forget about the coastline either! Rarely you will you find so many empty beaches, so make the most of this privacy and just embrace the nature around you.
Galicia is still an unspoilt part of the world. It has everything a diverse group of friends & family need to have a glorious adventure.
Getting There
Galicia is served by either Santiago de Compostela Airport, A Coruña Airport, or Vigo Airport. Various train lines connect the main cities and towns of Galicia to other destinations in Northern and Central Spain (and even Portugal). There are also vairous coach routes that you can take throughout the region and to other cities in Spain.
From the UK:
Direct flights are available from London with easyJet, Ryanair, Vueling, and many others. Although, travellers should be aware that Vigo Airport only receives domestic flights, so a stopover is needed if you wish to travel to this airport. Chartered flights are also available from several other UK airports.
Kids
Best Suited For: All AgesVilla Vista Cies features a lovely family-friendly vibe, set in a rural, residential area and complete with familiar home comforts such as a TV and WiFi. The villa's twin bedrooms are ideal for children, and there is a shaded outdoor dining area so that families can enjoy alfresco meals together while keeping the little ones out of the sun. The kids will delight in having their own private pool to splash around in during their stay, and the water is easily accessible via Roman steps - so there's no need to worry about younger children struggling to get in and out of the water. It's worth noting that the pool is unfenced, and the area around it is quite narrow in places, so, as always, when it comes to children and bodies of water, adult supervision is a must.
The villa is situated close to some of the most beautiful beaches in the region, including Barra and Nerga - around a ten-minute walk away. Barra features a short and straight coastline, and its soft, golden sands, crystal clear waters and amenities such as beach restaurants and toilets make it a popular choice with families. During the summer months, the beach can get quite crowded, and there are areas that are popular with naturists. However, it's expansive enough that you should be able to find your own private spot to enjoy. The beach offers fabulous island views and is sheltered from the winds, which is a huge plus, and it is also a great spot for watching the colourful yachts that come here frequently to anchor.
Nerga beach is another great choice for those visiting the region with children. This Blue Flag Award-winning stretch of fine white sand is popular with those who enjoy watersports, and visitors here can enjoy activities such as paddleboarding, kitesurfing and windsurfing. This easily accessible beach features great parking facilities, as well as family-friendly amenities such as lifeguards during the summer months, nearby restaurants, showers and toilets.
If you have access to transportation during your stay, Villa Vista Cies is just a ten-minute drive from the Cabo Home Lighthouse, which is home to the famous white, cylindrical lighthouse - one of the tallest beacon towers on the coast, and well worth a visit during your stay. From here, it is easy to reach Melide beach, a fantastic spot to visit with the kids and one of the best places in the region to enjoy fabulous sunsets. The area is secluded and charming, with soft white sands and clear waters, as well as lifeguards, beach bars and showers. The beach features wooden walkways, making a visit here easy for those with pushchairs or for those who have limited mobility.

Very functional and well equipped
The villa is situated in a unique place, it's a very functional house and well equipped. Really great details with the fruit and white wine on arrival. The only thing that would be an improvement would be to have better cleaning supplies (to clean the bath during the week) and to put darker curtains in the main bedroom.
Don't miss out! Reserve now and get a full refund if you change your mind within 48hrs.
