Situated near the town of Gondomar and the bustling port town of Baiona in beautiful Galicia sits this splendid eight-bedroom property. It offers contemporary living, privacy and charm and is a fantastic space for a family holiday. Spread over three floors, on the ground floor you'll find a light-drenched living room with comfortable sofas, framed prints, brilliant white walls and huge glass doors that open onto a glorious terrace. Off from the living room, there's a double bedroom and bathroom.

From the ground floor, a staircase spirals up to the first floor and a second living room. There's a relaxing space with cool tiled flooring and floor-to-ceiling windows that invite you to sit and gaze at the stunning valley views. When mealtimes beckon, you'll find a spacious kitchen where you can cook delicious family meals and then serve them at the sociable dining table. Five bedrooms are also situated on this floor, and when it's time for bed, choose between four twin rooms and one suite. All the bedrooms are light and breezy, and one boasts an en-suite bathroom while another has a glorious terrace, perfect for watching the sunrise and set.

From here, stairs sweep up to a second floor where the remaining two suite bedrooms are located. The bedrooms each contain an en-suite bathroom, and there is also a large bathroom. Guests can also enjoy an uncluttered reading room where they can enjoy some quiet time with a book or catch up on work at the writing desk.

Back on the ground floor, step out onto the covered terrace and enjoy a cool drink in the shade. Alternatively, dive into the relaxing swimming pool or top up your tan on a lounger while keeping an eye on the kids as they run free on the extensive lawn. A covered dining area next to the pool is perfectly set up for outdoor dining and has a TV to keep the children entertained. Although the property is located in a quiet, tranquil area, it's roughly a 10-minute drive to the Ria de Vigo beaches and a 15-minute drive to the vibrant town of Baiona with its restaurants, shops and bars.

Located in Galicia's south near the town of Gondomar, Villa Terio is a tranquil place surrounded by lush greenery and rolling hills. From the property, it's about a 5-minute drive to the nearest restaurant where you can sample traditional Galician cuisine, or for a chilled drink and snack, it's just a 2-minute walk to the local bar.

The surrounding area is perfect for those who want to immerse themselves in nature, and from the property, it's a 20-minute drive to the Monte do Alba Mountain Forest Park. Climb to the top, and you'll be rewarded with sweeping views of Vigo and the Atlantic Ocean. If you want a day at the beach, Praia de America is a good choice and perfect for children of all ages. Only a 10-minute drive away, it offers calm waters and a long curve of sand, and there are also a number of eateries dotted behind the beach where you can grab a bite to eat.

Also worth a visit is Baiona, a port town just a 15-minute drive from the property. It's a pleasant place for a stroll with its colourful port and medieval walls. Visit the castle with its sweeping coastline views, then stroll through the old town. Admire the typical Galician terraced houses lining the narrow streets, and be sure to stop for a meal at one of the tucked-away restaurants. From Baiona, walkers can enjoy a number of scenic trails offering dramatic coastline views. But for a full day of history and culture, head to the city of Vigo. Considered to be Galicia's artistic capital, here you can browse art galleries and wicker shops and explore the cathedral dating back to 1811. There's also a Museum of Contemporary Art where you can learn about Galician authors and admire the artwork of upcoming artists. Afterwards, head to the harbour and feast on fresh oysters plucked straight from the sea.

About the Region & Getting There

About Galicia

Like many parts of Spain, Galicia has its very own identity that has remained intact through its regional dialect and distinguishing culture. Although Galicia is recognised for its holy traditions, we urge budding tourists to also consider its astonishing green countryside & rivers and its UNESCO World Heritage sites. Occasionally you may even hear the gentle tootling of bagpipes, known locally as the Galician Gaita, along this northern corner of the Iberian Peninsula.

You're likely to fly into Santiago de Compostela, which is the capital of Galicia and is probably best known for the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage and its route. Many of the travellers embark on this journey by foot and tend to be mesmerised by this fine city at the end of their trek. Casco Viejo, or the Old Town, is a good place to end or even start your holiday. This area of the city is blessed with markets, restaurants, bars and buildings from a bygone era. After exhausting yourself in the busyness of the city, take a day trip to Praia de Rodas, on the gorgeous Cíes Islands. These small islands, accessible by boat from Vigo, Baiona, or Cangas, have been noted as having some of the best beaches in the world. It has to be seen to be believed!

Galicia is divided into four key regions: A Coruña, Lugo, Ourense and our favourite – Pontevedra. A Galician proverb states that 'Pontevedra gives water to travellers'. We firmly believe this to be true, as this particular part of Galicia has everything a traveller could need for an unforgettable experience and it almost feels like this city is constantly giving back. Whilst you holiday in Pontevedra you will realise that days are structured around mealtime. And why wouldn't they be? With some of the best seafood you will experience in Spain and the noteworthy Albariño wine, you may notice your jeans feeling a little tighter toward the end of your holiday. You will be glad to know that your waistline need not be a cause for concern though! Pontevedra is blessed with some of the best hiking trails, medieval monasteries, estuaries, and valleys within Spain. Don't forget about the coastline either! Rarely you will you find so many empty beaches, so make the most of this privacy and just embrace the nature around you.

Galicia is still an unspoilt part of the world. It has everything a diverse group of friends & family need to have a glorious adventure.

Getting There

Galicia is served by either Santiago de Compostela Airport, A Coruña Airport, or Vigo Airport. Various train lines connect the main cities and towns of Galicia to other destinations in Northern and Central Spain. Hop on and enjoy the view from your comfy seat; there's even a Galician Tourist Train pass! This discounted rail pass gives you access to various rail routes created by the Galician Regional Government and based on key elements of the region. Follow the Lighthouse Route along the northern coastline and stop to admire the lighthouses and gorgeous sea views, or hop on and follow one of the Ribeira Sacra Wine Routes to visit the lovely towns and wineries where acclaimed Galician wines are made and enjoyed. Check out the government website to grab your pass and plan your trip!

From the UK:
Direct flights are available from London with easyJet, Ryanair, Vueling, and many others. Although, travellers should be aware that Vigo Airport only receives domestic flights, so a stopover is needed if you wish to travel to this airport. Chartered flights are also available from several other UK airports.

Kids

Best Suited For: All Ages
Ideal for Kids Ideal for Teens

Villa Terio is an ideal place to enjoy family time. Young and old children will love the natural surroundings with treetops extending as far as the eye can see. Kids can spend time splashing in the pool, trying their hand at mini-table football, or playing board games in the numerous chill-out areas. The garden is vast, and the trees and hedges make it ideal for a game of hide and seek too. After a day of playing outside, gather the family together and enjoy a meal in the outdoor dining area. Afterwards, the kids can relax on the porch or watch their favourite programmes on the TV. The villa is also ideally placed for those who enjoy nature, and the whole family can explore the natural surroundings by bicycle.

Alternatively, pack a picnic and drive 20 minutes to the Monte do Alba Mountain Forest Park. Climb to the top of the mountain, where you'll discover a seventeenth-century chapel and glorious views of the estuary below. For a day at the beach, it's a 10-minute drive to Praia de America. A family-friendly, sandy beach, it's a good place for a swim while younger children can enjoy building castles in the sand. Afterwards, brush the sand from your feet and enjoy an ice cream at one of the nearby eateries.

For a family day out, head a 25-minute drive to the city of Vigo. Packed with art galleries, museums and historic buildings, there's plenty to discover, including a zoo located just outside the city centre. Here children can learn about the ecosystem and view lions, tigers and bears, plus spiders and reptiles. Also worth a visit is the Castro de Vigo, an archaeological site featuring the reconstruction of pre-Roman dwellings. It shows what life was like in Vigo between the third and first centuries BC. But for a truly memorable day out, head to Vigo's harbour and jump on a boat to the Cies Islands. This little archipelago is a national park and bird sanctuary and is also home to nine fabulous beaches, one of which was voted as The Guardian's 'Best Beaches in the World'. On the way, kids will enjoy the thrill of spotting dolphins in the water.
