This modern two-floor, five-bedroom villa is located in the Spanish region of Galicia and has a heated pool plus stunning views of the beach in the Corrubedo Dunes Natural Park.

Located just a five-minute walk from the beach, you’ll soak up the authentic Spanish vibe as soon as you walk through the door. The villa combines a modern rustic aesthetic with Mediterranean chic. The property’s exterior is made up of natural stone with a terracotta rooftop in keeping with the landscape of the surrounding areas and the traditional architecture. A stone’s throw from the property is the rugged coastline and the house is hugged by typical stone walls specific to the region.

Upon arrival, you’ll make your way into the cosy living area with floor to ceiling windows and a breathtaking view of the ocean. The space features a TV and a fireplace, perfect for cosying up on cooler nights. In the daytime, open up the porch doors for a view of the sea and let the warm Spanish air flow through the house. The living area is linked to a spacious and tastefully decorated dining room with an abundance of sunlight streaming in through the large windows. Prepare your locally bought produce in the modern, fully equipped kitchen with touches of marble and stainless steel and be utterly soothed by the view.

The bedrooms are all chicly decorated and have their own view of either the mountains or the sea. The cherry on the cake is the suite with a HydroMassage bathtub, perfect for unwinding at the end of the day.

Hedges surround the lush garden for full privacy and the blue-tiled heated pool is undoubtedly a highlight of the property. Sun worshippers will be in their element on the loungers and it’s easy to see why guests spend hours here topping up their tans. You’ll be surrounded by Spanish flora with rolling green hills in the distance, so your time outdoors is guaranteed to be peaceful and rejuvenating. If you’re in the mood to cook outdoors, the barbecue is perfect for some outdoor entertaining, along with a pool table and terrace to use. With views this good and a beach so close, who needs to leave the villa!

Based in Rías Baixas, the house faces the Natural Park Dunas de Corrubedo and boasts views of the white sands and crystal clear waters of Seráns beach. The park is made up of almost 1000 hectares and has unique flora and fauna; dolphin sightings have even been reported! For those who want to get active, there are several easy hiking trails running through the park and visitors can also hire paddleboards. Birdwatchers will be in their element here, with September to April the best time to spot migratory species, but enthusiasts will have the chance to spot wildlife all year round. The park boasts virgin beaches, unspoiled wildlife, and famous shifting sand dunes, and the memories you’ll have of strolling the boardwalk between the dunes and the ocean are ones you’ll treasure forever.

The villa is 4km from the charming fishing village of Corrubedo. Walk along the rugged coastline admiring the orange, yellow and red traditional architecture, then finish the day by enjoying fresh seafood prepared Galician style or experience the Spanish tradition of tapas and wine in the evenings.

The region of Galicia is famous for its history, seafood, and wild beaches. It’s particularly well known for its shellfish pulled straight from the sea: think king prawns, king scallops, mussels, crabs, and lobsters straight into signature Galician dishes like the Pulpo a la Feira (Octopus cooked with potatoes and seasoned with paprika), Arroz con Marisco (Galician paella) and Mariscada (Seafood platter). Wine is also a staple of the cuisine here and the region boasts beautiful wineries which produce some of the world’s finest wines.

Romanesque churches and chapels dot the same landscapes of the traditional wineries, and the region perfectly combines gastronomy and culture amongst the historical sights of Galician monasticism.

A thirty minute drive away is the city of Pontevedra, which prides itself on tradition and hospitality. It includes plenty of historic buildings, churches, monuments, attractive plazas, and a large shopping district. The old town begins to really thrive at night, with lively bars creating a vibrant atmosphere that continues well into the early hours.

About the Region & Getting There

About Galicia

Like many parts of Spain, Galicia has its very own identity that has remained intact through its regional dialect and distinguishing culture. Although Galicia is recognised for its holy traditions, we urge budding tourists to also consider its astonishing green countryside & rivers and its UNESCO World Heritage sites. Occasionally you may even hear the gentle tootling of bagpipes, known locally as the Galician Gaita, along this northern corner of the Iberian Peninsula.

You're likely to fly into Santiago de Compostela, which is the capital of Galicia and is probably best known for the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage and its route. Many of the travellers embark on this journey by foot and tend to be mesmerised by this fine city at the end of their trek. Casco Viejo, or the Old Town, is a good place to end or even start your holiday. This area of the city is blessed with markets, restaurants, bars and buildings from a bygone era. After exhausting yourself in the busyness of the city, take a day trip to Praia de Rodas, on the gorgeous Cíes Islands. These small islands, accessible by boat from Vigo, Baiona, or Cangas, have been noted as having some of the best beaches in the world. It has to be seen to be believed!

Galicia is divided into four key regions: A Coruña, Lugo, Ourense and our favourite – Pontevedra. A Galician proverb states that 'Pontevedra gives water to travellers'. We firmly believe this to be true, as this particular part of Galicia has everything a traveller could need for an unforgettable experience and it almost feels like this city is constantly giving back. Whilst you holiday in Pontevedra you will realise that days are structured around mealtime. And why wouldn't they be? With some of the best seafood you will experience in Spain and the noteworthy Albariño wine, you may notice your jeans feeling a little tighter toward the end of your holiday. You will be glad to know that your waistline need not be a cause for concern though! Pontevedra is blessed with some of the best hiking trails, medieval monasteries, estuaries, and valleys within Spain. Don't forget about the coastline either! Rarely you will you find so many empty beaches, so make the most of this privacy and just embrace the nature around you.

Galicia is still an unspoilt part of the world. It has everything a diverse group of friends & family need to have a glorious adventure.

Getting There

Galicia is served by either Santiago de Compostela Airport, A Coruña Airport, or Vigo Airport. Various train lines connect the main cities and towns of Galicia to other destinations in Northern and Central Spain. Hop on and enjoy the view from your comfy seat; there's even a Galician Tourist Train pass! This discounted rail pass gives you access to various rail routes created by the Galician Regional Government and based on key elements of the region. Follow the Lighthouse Route along the northern coastline and stop to admire the lighthouses and gorgeous sea views, or hop on and follow one of the Ribeira Sacra Wine Routes to visit the lovely towns and wineries where acclaimed Galician wines are made and enjoyed. Check out the government website to grab your pass and plan your trip!

From the UK:
Direct flights are available from London with easyJet, Ryanair, Vueling, and many others. Although, travellers should be aware that Vigo Airport only receives domestic flights, so a stopover is needed if you wish to travel to this airport. Chartered flights are also available from several other UK airports.

Kids

Best Suited For: All Ages
Ideal for Kids Ideal for Teens

Kids will absolutely love a trip to the Cíes Islands! These real-life treasure islands reportedly hold buried treasure, and according to legend, Francis Drake used to hide out in the secluded coves of the archipelago. With all this talk of pirate past, it’s not hard to get the imagination of the little ones excited about this rugged piece of beauty. Kids can go snorkelling and kayaking in the clean, clear waters of the archipelago, which are home to more than 100 species of marine life. There’s also a campsite which organises free children’s activities in the morning and evening. Here they can make new friends in the play area, have fun playing organised games, or get crafty at workshops.

Rías Baixas is famous for its tranquil beaches, and the area also has reputable horse riding schools which take enthusiastic riders to see the stunning landscapes of the region. A fifty-minute drive will bring you to the area of Ribeira Sacra, where you can take an excursion on horseback through the myriad of colours that make up the natural beauty, culminating in views overlooking the rivers.

For a day out, Costa da Morte is a ninety-minute drive away where the kids can continue the buccaneering fantasy. This rocky coastline is stunning but treacherous and has a history of shipwrecks. However, the beaches are calm and safe, making them perfect for families with children. The coastline is dotted with charming fishing villages, with two favourites being Laxe, and Finisterre. Laxe has a lovely walk to the lighthouse and Finisterre got its name from the ancient Romans who believed it to be the “End of the Earth”.

An hour-long drive will take you to Baiona, one of Spain’s most memorable coastal towns with a yacht club. Monte Real Yacht Club holds sailing courses and a summer sailing school, where kids can head out onto the harbour's blue waters for a few hours with experienced staffers. For the committed junior sailors, take advantage of the club’s weekly sailing course for children between seven and sixteen years old, which includes a specialised trainer and all the necessary equipment.
