Opposite the swimming pool is a vast stretch of rugged terrain, giving guests an authentic look into the rich biodiversity of this area. Alongside these incredible amenities, this villa also hosts a splendid selection of outdoor terraces. Villa Damia is based just 15 minutes away from the centre of Formentera, offering guests prime access to a collection of stunning tourist attractions. This region is often commended for its sapphire blue waters, but they are also hiding something incredibly special. The Don Pedro is a vast cargo ship that stretches over 140 metres long. This ship has been buried for many years but still holds some of its original structures and fixtures. In turn, guests are encouraged to become familiar with an array of scuba diving equipment and travel down to the alluring depths of the sea floor. A majority of these underwater tours are carried out by Vellmari, a prized scuba diving establishment that is located around 10 minutes away from the villa.
 
One of the area’s most significant attractions is Cap de Barbaria, which can be found around 10 minutes away from Villa Damia. This looming lighthouse is decorated in a signature white-washed style, making it a truly unmissable attraction throughout the region. Sitting 110 metres above sea level, you will be pleasantly surprised by its incredible presence throughout this rugged landscape. Many keen photographers will recognise this monument from Julio Medem’s iconic film Lucia y el Sexo. As such, this is a great place to visit if you are looking to uncover the admirable nuances of some of the world’s most popular films. Once you have marvelled at its exterior, be sure to take the short journey toward the top of the landmark and bask in the series of awe-inspiring panoramic views that sit below.
 
If you are looking to truly soak up this bustling local culture, a trip to the Sant Francesc Xavier market is a must-do activity. This market is filled to the brim with artisan art pieces and designer garments, helping it to stand out from some of the other flea markets seen throughout this area. As a result, this is also an ideal place to visit if you wish to pick up an unusual souvenir to show off back home. The Sant Francesc Xavier Market is situated just under half an hour away from the villa and occurs every Saturday from 11 am to 2 pm.

THE REGION

As much as Formentera is a top holiday destination it's also very popular for daytime excursions from Ibiza. This region is often celebrated for its pristine beaches, such as Es Migjorn, which is considered to be the longest beach in the entirety of the area. Stretching an astonishing 5km long, this beach is covered in pure white sand and crystal-clear water. As such, this is a fantastic attraction to visit if you are looking to rest and recharge in a deeply picturesque location. After you have spent the day building countless sandcastles and gazing up at the beautiful blue sky, be sure to travel into the local town. Here, you will encounter a plethora of native bars and restaurants, giving you a chance to enjoy a bite to eat before returning back to the beach for more fun. Es Migjorn beach is located just under 20 minutes away from Villa Damia.
 
If you are travelling as a family of avid foodies, you must try some of Formentera’s exquisite seafood dishes. Due to the prime location of this area, a majority of these meals are crafted using some of the freshest ingredients available. Thus, this gives guests a chance to gain a more authentic taste of this region’s cuisine. One of the area’s signature dishes is Peix Sec de Formentera, which uses a local variety of skates and leaves them to dry from the many Sabina trees that help to characterise the area. Therefore, guests now have the chance to push away from traditional fish and chips and can delve into something new entirely.
 
La Savina is a small village that can be found just 15 minutes away from the villa. Here you will find the island’s main port, offering a glimpse into the area’s rich and expansive fishing history. Alongside its far-reaching legacy, this area is home to a stellar selection of artisan boutiques. Thus, this is an ideal place to take teenagers who love nothing more than to shop until they drop. Moreover, this is a fantastic place to unwind as you observe the small fishing boats as they glide across the clear and calm water.
