The Benahavis Hills are surrounded by prestigious golf courses including Los Arqueros, La Quinta, El Higueral, Guadalmina and Los Naranjos. Benahavis boasts many high class restaurants scattered along its picturesque, narrow, winding streets. Within minutes, guests staying at Villa Bon Mira can be relaxing on the Costa del Sol’s sunkissed beaches or living it up in the celebrity hotspots of Puerto Banus and Marbella. In the opposite direction to Puerto Banus, you will discover the delightful resort of Estapona. There is no end to entertainment on offer when staying in this exclusive neighbourhood.

Villa Bon Mira has undergone an extensive refurbishment and is in impeccable condition. Its  sophisticated architecture incorporates touches of characterful Andalusian essence together with fantastic use of glass to ensure guests enjoy superb panorama from every angle. The villa’s large plot offers private parking for up to four cars and the elevated nature of the plot means that guests arrive into the middle of its three storeys. You enter the villa on the first floor to discover a wonderful living space where the individual areas enjoy a fabulous flow. The kitchen is ultra modern and offers the best of appliances and a sociable central island. This leads to an elegant indoor dining area with lavish furniture and beautiful overhead lights. The giant wall mirror reflects the glorious panorama enjoyed by the living area. This seamless integration makes for a bright and airy space perfect for large groups. The comfy living area enjoys a feature fireplace, floor-to-ceiling picture windows making the most of the villa’s elevated position plus double glass doors which open to a fabulous terrace. Here guests enjoy a delightful shaded alfresco lounge, the perfect spot for pre-dinner cocktails while watching the sun go down over the Mediterranean sea. Guests also enjoy alfresco dining with a view on the terrace using the villa’s barbecue. There is a separate utility room and laundry room on the first floor too.

The villa's six bedrooms are spread over the three floors. Upstairs, there are two luxurious master suites with phenomenal views and lavish en-suite bathrooms. The beds are beautifully dressed with hotel quality linens and stylish soft furnishings. These master bedrooms share a gorgeous terrace where the sunset views are absolutely stunning.

The lower floor is home to a fabulous entertainment room with table tennis, other games, movies and a gym as well as additional bedrooms and a family shower room. All of the bedrooms are beautifully styled in calm, neutral tones. The bathrooms are beautifully tiled and offer a mix of baths, some of which are freestanding and showers, some of which are double showers. From the lower floor guests enjoy direct access to the garden and swimming pool. There are also contemporary staircases between the garden and the upper terrace. The pool is surrounded by sun loungers, a double day bed and parasols. The terrace enjoys several delightful alfresco lounge areas, all fabulous entertainment spaces with chic, modern furnishings. Villa Bon Mira offers an enviable elevated spot with superb views over the roof tops and green canopy to the sea below. It is located in the peaceful Benahavis Hills, within easy reach of Puerto Banus, Marbella and Estapona.

Benahavis, the village, might be small but it is home to many fabulous restaurants and is known as the ‘Gastronomic Corner of Andalucia’. It is home to the Sabor, a Malaga catering school. Many of the dishes in the restaurants are Spanish but with a modern twist. One of the most typical dishes is marinated pork fillet following a very traditional recipe but you will also find fresh fish from Estapona and Marbella and cuisine from many corners of the world. There are many prestigious golf courses in the La Quinta/Benahavis area including El Higueral Club de Golf, La Quinta, La Zagaleta, Gran Flamingo Golf, Los Argueros designed by Seve Ballesteros, Los Flamingos Golf and Monte Mayor Golf. There is even a Golf Academy complete with practice ground and putting green. It is a wonderful area to enjoy a hike or cycle, exploring the fauna and flora as well as the views. The terrain is traversed by the Guadalmina, Guadaiza and Guadalmanza rivers. The Guadalmina River offers great canyoning opportunities with its many waterfalls and plunge pools. The top attraction of Benahavis is its natural surroundings and uninterrupted views of mountains, woodlands and rivers. The village itself is picturesque with well-kept narrow streets and squares flanked by Andalusian whitewashed houses. The delightful Parque Torre Leoneras Park contains the ruins of a medieval tower and a lake. The 10th century Montemayor Castle is mostly ruins but still has several sections of walls and the Queen’s Tower standing. Benahavis boasts a lovely car boot style Sunday market in the grounds of a shrine. Benahavis’ Holy Week has some of the loveliest processions on the Costa del Sol. The annual Benahavis Fair takes place in August and the whole village enjoys processions, fairground rides, fireworks, eating and drinking. There are also summer concerts and culinary events in the many Benahavis restaurants. Close to Benahavis, La Aldea is almost a village within a village, the brainchild of the British sculptor David Marshall. His gallery is one of La Aldea’s main features, along with the marble fountains, antiques and old-fashioned doors and grilles.

The Costa del Sol boasts twenty three stunning, sandy beaches along its 27 kms of gorgeous coastline. Guests staying at Villa Cerrojo enjoy the beautiful San Pedro Beach, Playa Fontanilla, Playa Naguelese, Playa Cabopino, Playa de la Rada and Playa del Padron in Estapona. With 325 sunny days, the climate is fantastic and perfect for beach days. Many of the beaches enjoy fabulous watersports and chic beach bars.

The glamorous and glitzy Marbella holds its own with the French Riviera and other hot-spot destinations in Europe. Michelin-starred restaurants, manicured, challenging golf courses, marinas bustling with high-end yachts, chic, designer boutiques, glitzy entertainment and never-ending golden sandy beaches are all in abundance in Marbella. The Arabic characteristics of Plaza de los Naranjos, the old part of Marbella and its balconies adorned with beautiful, vibrant flowers are totally captivating. The square’s restaurants place their tables in a small formal garden bordered by orange trees. Visitors enjoy a labyrinth of narrow pedestrian streets laid with red tiles and crazy paving and beautiful plazas full of trendy, upmarket bars and restaurants and unique shops offering souvenirs, olive oil, local pottery and lace. The buildings are all whitewashed, wrapped in bougainvillea and topped with terracotta roofs, many dating back to the renaissance. Alameda Park is just a few steps south of the Old Town and feels like a private garden. There are marble walkways, fountains and benches, all under a thick canopy of tropical foliage. Many of the benches are clad with azuleos, classic Andalusian hand-printed tiles. The handsome walkway, Avenida del Mar, leads from the park to Playa de la Venus, next to Marbella’s first class marina. It boasts towering palm trees and bronze sculptures designed by Salvador Dali. The central Plaza de la Iglesia is very beautiful and often hosts vibrant markets and concerts. Besides the typical Andalusian cultural events, there are annual festivals dedicated to music including the Marbella International Opera Festival held in August, the Marbella Reggae Festival in July plus the Marbella International Film Festival in June.

The celebrated Puerto Banus was designed and built in 1970 by local property developer Jose Banus. It is renowned for its marina, designer shopping, dining and celebrity spotting. It is a playground for the rich with plenty of Ferraris parked outside the glamorous eateries and luxury yachts moored in the marina. The luxury Sala Beach and Ocean Club Marbella are just two of the upmarket beach clubs offering delicious cocktails, plenty of champagne, gastronomic delights and attentive staff.   

Estepona is another Andalusian hotspot, tucked between Marbella and Manilva. It comes with narrow cobbled streets lined with whitewashed houses, a stunning mountain backdrop and a beautiful Blue Flag beach. Less than an hour’s drive from Estapona is the historic Rock of Gibraltar with its native monkeys, Siege Tunnels and famed cable car.

Villa Bon Mira is ideal for a family holiday. It is very spacious enjoys a superb garden. The entertainment room is excellent and the pool is fabulous.

The sandy Costa del Sol beaches are just minutes from the villa in the car. San Pedro Beach is one of the most popular beaches for families though all are wonderful and many offer watersports. Estapona’s Blue Flag beach is amazing. The boulevard in San Pedro Alcantara offers exciting playgrounds with swings, wooden horses, padded hills to climb and a zipline. The wonderful architectural bridge has curves to match the waves and mountain scenery. It’s a very popular place for cycling. Happy Days Costa del Sol, at the Marbella end of the boulevard, has an ice-skating rink and a 9-hole mini golf course. The Funny Beach Marbella amusement park offers jet skiing, flyboarding, go-karting and bouncy castles, pedal boats, a Wave X ramp and inflatable water rides, fantastic for thrill seeking children.

Selwo Aventura, Estapona, offers children the chance to enjoy wild nature on an expedition through different lands. They will meet lions, giraffes, hippos, zebras, leopards, meerkats, lynx, elephants and pandas. There are also adventure activities for thrillseekers including the zipwire, hanging bridges and archery as well as the Serengeti Safari, a 4x4 truck ride around the Great Lakes Reserve.

Adventura Amazonia, Marbella is a thrilling, challenging adventure with rope bridges, zipwires, tree climbing and swing bridges. There is a mini kid’s course for 4-7 year olds and another course for over 7’s. There are 83 challenges in the trees and 20 ziplines in total.

Biopark, Fuengirola is a zoo where animals live side-by-side, recreating their natural habitats. There are more than 200 species, most of them endangered or at risk of being endangered. Biopark promotes the survival of the different species including the Sumatra Tiger of which there are only 300 or you may see Roloway monkeys, the only ones in Spain.

Benalmadena is another family favourite. The beaches are fantastic. Visitors can take boat trips for dolphin and whale watching. There is a cable car and the Bil Bil Castle is fascinating. You can walk through transparent tunnels in the Sea Life Centre or watch feeding demonstrations.

Security deposit €3,000 charged to client’s credit card before arrival and refunded two weeks after departure, subject to full inspection.

Energy costs included? Yes, included in the rental price.

End of stay cleaning included? Extra €500, paid to Oliver's Travels with balance payment. However, guests are required to leave the accomodation clean, tidy and in the same condition as on their arrival. Any extra cleaning , laundry, maintenance and/or rubbish disposal will be charged against the security deposit.
Internet access? Wi-Fi internet access included in the rental price.
Minimum stay 7 nights during peak season. 4 nights during other periods.
