From the moment you arrive, it is so easy to relax, enjoying every moment spent in the Spanish sun. Begur is overflowing with Spanish charm and has a plethora of things to do from fantastic local eateries and restaurants to boutique shopping and much more, all located nearby the villa itself.
Inside the villa, every room is bright and spacious, with light flooding in through contemporary windows. Divided over two floors, there is plenty of space to spread out and find private moments to yourself, while also enjoying friendly, open-plan living areas where you can spend quality time with your loved ones.
Both floors offer large living spaces with kitchens, particularly useful if two families are travelling together. Through the villa, you will find four good-sized double bedrooms and two twin rooms, as well as six modern bathrooms.
The main living area on each floor boasts a fully-equipped, modern kitchen, dining area and comfortable lounge. The downstairs living space opens to the garden through fabulous patio doors, the perfect spot for reading your book and enjoying the outdoor atmosphere with the comfort of indoor furnishings.
Stepping out to the private garden, it feels like an oasis of calm, a place you can relax away from the hustle and bustle of day to day life. The backyard boasts a beautiful infinity swimming pool, with a seating area surrounded by bushes and arid-loving plants, and plenty of space for outside entertainment and games.

- There is a gas barbecue or, for the more conventional, a fire pit for delicious outdoor dinners
- The swimming pool is not fenced and there are several steps in the garden, so children should be supervised at all times
- There is private secure parking for up to 4 cars on the property, a rental car is great for exploring the local areas

About the surrounding area of Villa AzucenaVilla Azucena is located in the heart of old Begur; just a few moments' walks to the church and central plaza. The villa itself is entirely calm and private, with delicious local restaurants and bustling shops just a short distance away. This location is perfect for a relaxed stay away.
Begur is a hidden gem of the ever-popular Costa Brava, part of the comarca of the Baíx Emporda in Catalonia. It has become a very popular destination with travellers from Barcelona, which is located just an hour and a half south of Begur and makes for a perfect excursion if you feel like exploring more of the coast.
The town itself is overflowing with Spanish charm and has a plethora of things to do, from fantastic local eateries to boutique shopping and much more. There are also the historical ruins of the Castell de Begur which make for an exciting hike, and to the delight of golf-enthusiasts, plenty of golf courses nearby, two of which are located within 10km of the village! The nearest beach of Sa Riera is just 2 km away while the popular Aiguablava beach is just shy of 5 km from town.
The town of Begur is conveniently located within a slew of authentic Spanish villages, giving families and explorers plenty of things to do. The stylish beaches of Sa Tuna and Sa Riera are just a short drive away, and the medieval architecture of nearby villages of Regencos and Pubol will appeal to the history buffs. Pubol is home to many landmarks associated with Salvador Dalí, including the ruins of the castle that he gifted to his Russian wife, Gala.

We would not recommend this villa for children under the age of 5 as the pool fence is not child-proof and there are many stairs around the garden.

What was it about the property that you first fell in love with?
The location and size was what first attracted us to it. Then we heard the story of the previous owner and felt it was a house that needed some love and attention as it had been left empty for more than 10 years.
Do you have a favourite room in the property?
We love the garden, but in the house, our favourite room is the garden level sitting room as it has huge windows looking out over the garden
For anyone coming to stay is there anything in the surrounding area they should...
Really do?
Walk! Explore the town and castle, walk to Sa Riera, Sa Tuna and Aiguafreda beaches. There are little paths leading down to the beaches that lovely to explore.
Really eat?
Tapas in Platillos! All the restaurants in the village offer a great choice but our favourites are Platillos for tapas and then Carbo. The menu in Carbo is always changing, always interesting and in a lovely setting.
Really see?
Begur Castle for the views. The little bay of Sa Tuna and, finally, a visit to Pals is a must.
What insider tip would you pass on about the property or the area?
For large groups it is important to book restaurants well ahead as many of them are quite small. In the summer months, Thursday night is party night in the village centre, there is usually a band or a DJ and its lots of fun for all the family.

Everything we dreamed of and more
A wonderful week in a wonderful villa celebrating Mum's 70th birthday. What a great place that met everyone's needs. I think Dad may still be sat on the balcony in his happy place! This week was everything we dreamed of and more, thank you!

Well equipped villa with excellent access into Begur
Villa Azucena was the perfect venue for our double family celebration. The house is spacious and extremely well equipped, providing sufficient space and activities to satisfy the broad age range of our family group (ages 1 to 69).
The location is an added bonus, being able to walk into Begur for shopping/eating was a real positive. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Villa and have many happy memories of our time there. I would highly recommend it to other family groups. -

Wish we had stayed longer!
We were a family of 12 with an age range of 7 to 69 that stayed at Villa Azucena for one week which we now wish had been longer. The villa was very clean and has excellent facilities which suited all ages and with just a 5 min walk into the centre of Begur was perfect for the whole family. We decided not to hire cars and did not find this a problem as the supermarket was only a 10 min walk and the bus stop to the beach was just down the road. Any queries we had were dealt with very promptly. Everything about this villa was excellent and we will be looking into booking it again.

My family and I had a wonderful stay at Villa Azucena! The pool was absolutely perfect, we enjoyed playing all the outdoor and indoor games the house had to offer, the kitchen had everything we needed and the terrace views were unforgettable. The owners were incredibly helpful and readily available to answer all of our questions. We would recommend booking this house to anyone looking to enjoy and discover the beauty of the Costa Brava!

Brilliant
Two families for a one week stay in early October. Brilliant stay on all counts - the house is even more beautiful in real life. Very well laid out, great attention to details, clean and not cluttered. Everything is working order. Absolutely perfectly placed in the town with easy access with cars and on foot. Nicola/Becky were very quick to reply both before and during our stay. We loved it and hopefully will be back soon!

Simply amazing!
The location and villa are simply amazing! This place is very special....the town of Begur and surrounding areas are so charming, as well as the home. The new, neutral decor is aesthetically pleasing. The home was very clean. The pool is gorgeous. The location is unbeatable. We had just what we needed in the kitchen. We loved having the ping pong table. The paella chef Janos and Chef Marc were outstanding. Everything was perfect, exceeded our expectations and we can't imagine a better place to vacation. It was so nice just to take a short walk to town. We loved exploring nearby beaches and towns. Becky was a wonderful and very responsive house manager.

Life doesn't get any better
We had a brilliant family holiday at Villa Azucena that I'll always treasure. The villa is stylish, modern and homely and is the perfect oasis to experience the delights of Spain. We sat every night on the terrace watching the sun go down over the Pyrenees before retreating for alfresco dining. Life doesn't get any better - thank you!

I would definitely love to go back
I love, love, love this villa ... and its infinity pool. My brother and I spent our days sunbathing, swimming and playing table tennis in the garden. The villa is really big and it was nice as a teenager to have my own space to be able to chill and relax yet still spend time with the family. The shops and restaurants in Begur are fabulous and I really enjoyed exploring the history of this old Spanish town. I would definitely love to go back.

We had a fantastic time with our children and grandchildren at this truly unique villa. Every day you find a new discovery that makes you love it even more! It's beautifully furnished, spacious, yet so homely too. It's the perfect place to get away from the hustle and bustle of daily life and spend precious time with your family in a beautiful part of Spain.

Absolutely stunning
My family and I enjoyed a memorable holiday that we'll always look back on with such fond memories at Villa Azucena. The villa is set right in the heart of the historic town of Begur with its fantastic restaurants and shops and is the perfect place to enjoy real Spain. Every day we meandered down a beautiful coastal path to Sa Riera beach which is about a 20-minute walk away. The villa itself is absolutely stunning. It's been modernised to the highest standards yet still retains its old Spanish charm. We relaxed long into the evening in the tranquil surroundings of the garden, enjoying a barbecue while sat around the fire pit reliving our fun-filled days with a glass of wine.
