- There is both an indoor and outdoor open stone fireplace; parents will want to be cautious when small children are playing in the vicinity whether they are in use or not

Quinta do Lago is a go-to destination for golfers, thanks to world-class courses such as the famous North, South and Laranjal courses and premier sports facilities, including mini-golf, the famous Paul McGinley Academy, and the TaylorMade Performance Centre, drawing visitors from all over the world. This includes the rich and famous, with stars such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Niall Horan and even Madonna all having been spotted here.
This incredibly beautiful gated community comprises one of the three corners of the Golden Triangle of the Algarve’s most affluent communities and promises a naturally private setting, making it a favourite destination for celebs and holidaymakers alike. Quinta do Lago is elite and exclusive, yet unpretentious, and is something of a millionaire’s playground, where people come to enjoy the laid-back vibe and stunning scenery as much as the golf. Kids
Best Suited For: All AgesFor families holidaying with children, Quinta Palmera is a lovely choice, with its beautiful lawn area providing plenty of shade, a private pool, and spacious rooms. It’s important to note that all of the bedrooms feature king-size beds, so it might be an idea to bring a travel cot for the youngest children if you don’t plan to co-sleep.
Quinta do Lagos is a beautiful resort that offers plenty to do. Sporty children will be in their element with a variety of activities on offer for them to enjoy, including surfing and kite-surfing for the older ones. The area is fairly pushchair-friendly, so taking a family stroll through the resort should be nice and stress-free, and the kids are sure to enjoy attractions such as pop-up galleries showcasing modern art. Of course, the beach is always a big hit with the youngest members of the family, and they will be truly spoiled here. The beaches are expansive, clean and beautiful - as you would expect from the Algarve - and many a happy hour can be spent here building sandcastles and paddling in the cool, blue ocean.
If you choose to travel a little further afield, you won’t find many places in the Algarve that don’t offer something exciting in the way of entertainment. The region is bursting with waterparks, zoos and theme parks that are sure to delight visitors of all ages. For something a little closer and more gentle, the beautiful Ria Formosa Natural Park is right on your doorstep. This area of outstanding natural beauty is the perfect spot for hiking, walking and nature spotting. The stunning maze of canals, islands and marshes stretches along the Algarve coast and boasts a variety of flora and fauna, including a chameleon, a reptile that only exists in the south of Portugal, as well as one of the largest populations of seahorses in the world.
Eating in Quinta do Lagos with the kids couldn’t be easier, with many of the restaurants offering entertainment for the children (as well as cocktails for the adults!) and serving up a wide range of dishes, from barbecued meats and burgers, vegetarian and vegan dishes, and fresh seafood.
