Villa Lua is located in a peaceful village near the central Algarve. The glorious Marinha beach is only 350 meters away from the property and is famous for its stunning turquoise sea water, orange limestone and dramatic cliffs.
This scenic Algarve beach is synonymous with tourists’ expectations of the beaches in this part of the world with all of its break-taking natural beauty.
Due to the clearness and clarity of the water, snorkelling is a fantastic choice, and boat trips let visitors view all of the natural rock and cliff patterns up close. There is also a bar selling snacks on this beach for breaks in between taking in the enchanting surroundings.
Carvoeiro Beach is only 9km away from the villa and provides a lovely family day out. Although it is busy during the summer months, there are enough bars, eateries, and ice-cream sellers close by for everyone and plenty of parking is available.
The small beach has an excellent view over the once fisherman village of Carvoeiro and has exhilarating water sports experiences available to try. The town of Carvoeiro is also known for its buzzing nightlife.
Sky Bar Carvoeiro’s is a contemporary rooftop bar open during weekends that pairs a fantastic view with delicious cocktails. It is advised to visit here just after sundown to see it set over the coastline and cliffs.
The nearby Mount Fóia is a site worth seeing. Part of the Serra de Monchique range, the mountain provides a 360 view at one of the highest points in the Algarve after an eight-mile hike.

The Region
Carvoeiro has always been known for its beautiful coastline, adorned with cliffs, coves and incredible sandy beaches stretching all the way along to Albufeira. These days, however, there is a lot more going on in this charming town than just waves hitting the sand (although that’s certainly still a highlight).
In the past few years Carvoeiro has developed to accommodate for the growing number of tourists who are curious to see what the fuzz is all about, and the town continues to get livelier and livelier each summer. While it has kept its character and remains exquisitely peaceful, there are also plenty of modern amenities and loads of exciting activities in the area. The only thing Carvoeiro won’t provide is a good party, but there are other parts of the Algarve which are perfect for that.
