Located in the heart of a quiet residential area, this Moroccan-inspired villa is the perfect place to escape in the sun. Its prestigious location lets you enjoy the best of both worlds during your stay – a cosy home away from home, and all the fun of a lively beach holiday.
Arriving at Riad Serpa Gale, you’ll first be wowed by its quiet location and quaint Portuguese architecture. Inside, however, is a Moroccan dream made reality. Lovingly decorated in traditional Moroccan style throughout, you’ll feel like you stepped across the sea into Portugal’s African neighbour.
Entering the home, you’ll find two levels entirely dedicated to yourselves. On the ground floor is your living room and diner. Comfortable sofas and chairs make up the seating area, with a satellite TV and DVD player for your enjoyment. A cosy dining area is also situated in the lounge, allowing for days and nights spent in good company.
Your kitchen is fully-equipped with everything you could need to make home cooked meals during your stay, including coffee machines. There’s also a small table situated in the kitchen, perfect for casual coffees and conversation.
Your four en-suite bedrooms are also all decorated in delightful Moroccan stylings, providing two rooms with twin single beds and two rooms with king-size beds to choose from. On the upper level you’ll find two lavishly decorated balconies for your relaxation.
Outside, your private swimming pool is flanked by enough sun loungers to comfortable accommodate groups of any size wishing to enjoy the Portuguese sun. Your 8x4m variable depth swimming pool features a set of steps to enter and a gentle incline to its deeper sides. Beside the pool, you’ll also find a separate shower and bathroom block and an outside kitchen complete with pizza oven. Wrapping around the villa is also your own personal play area for small children, complete with a horse carousel and swing set.
What you should know…
- There’s no on-site parking at Riad Serpa Gale, however a number of park spaces are available directly opposite the villa
- We recommend renting a car during your stay to help you get around and explore the surrounding areas
- The swimming pool has a variable depth, so keep an eye on children around the pool area as some areas are deeper than others

The house was decorated in a mourish style and has a total of 4 bedrooms en suite with air conditioning, and five bathrooms (plus an extra bathroom outside), spread over two levels.

In the surrounding area you’ll find plenty to keep yourself fed, watered and entertained, with your nearest supermarket being less than 10 minutes away by foot and the beach less than 15.
Despite being set back from the heart of Gale, you’ll never feel like you’re missing out. With bars, restaurants, beaches and shops just a short walk away you can easily choose what you want to do each day as it comes.
Your nearest beach is the beautiful Praia da Gale, a sandy Blue Flag beach with calm clean waters which signal the end of a miles-long stretch of pristine sands you can spend hours walking along. Kids of all ages are catered to in the area, with lots to see and do for little and big children alike.
If you rent a car during your stay, Gale offers easy access to the wider Albufeira area and Algarve region. Albufeira, the capital and heart of the Algarve, is around a 15 minutes’ drive from Riad Serpa Gale, promising a great day out for holidaymakers from all walks of life.

THE REGION
Albufeira is one of the Algarve's top hotspots. It's a charismatic beach town with an energetic and busy vibe where every type of holidaymaker can find something to enjoy. Not only is it family friendly and bursting with great activities for kids and teens, there is also a buzzing nightlife scene on the downtown strip for adults travelling on their own.
If you’re after something a bit more cultural, there is also a beautiful Old Town where all the best restaurants and historical sites can be found. For those looking to get a little bit extra out of their Albufeira stay, Vidamar Resort in the Salgados area offers all the perks of staying in a self-catered villa plus the amenities of a luxury resort.
Not far from there you’ll also come across the beachy Sao Rafael as well as Galé where the sandy stretches and deep blue waves will have you thinking you’re on the set of a photoshoot. Golf lovers might want to head to Amendoeira Golf Resort, located a quick fifteen minutes from Albufeira, which is perfect those who like a good game while still staying close to town.

Around Riad Serpa Gale, you have Praia da Gale right on your doorstep, a beautiful sandy Blue Flag beach popular with families of all ages. You’ll find plenty of kid-friendly activities around the beach area, such as snorkelling, pedalo slides and paddle boarding. Older children can enjoy more adventurous sports like windsurfing, Jet Ski riding and parasailing.
Just a short drive away from Riad Serpa Gale is Aqualand, a fun-packed waterpark where kids can easily spend a whole day enjoying its waterslides, rapids, lazy rivers and wave pools. Or, you can take them on a 4x4 safari of the surrounding areas, where local guides will show you the fascinating plant and wildlife that make Albufeira such a beautiful and diverse location.
Day trips couldn’t be easier as Gale offers easy access to plenty of destinations around Albufeira and the wider Algarve. Albufeira itself is only around than 30 minutes away, where kids can learn all about the area’s fascinating history and walk through its historic old town. Other historical sites in the area include the ruins of an ancient roman villa and a castle.
Kids can also discover the magic of Portugal on a boat trip around its beautiful caves and inlets where they’re likely to spot wild dolphins at play. Or, take a glass bottom boat out onto the waters to see what lies beneath the gentle blue waves.

Great villa, lives up to the photos
The villa was great and it really lives up to the photos. Very comfortable and roomy for the 6 of us with loads of space and our hosts were very friendly and accommodating so we couldn't ask more for our first visit to the Algarve. We plan to come again soon in this will be on the top of our list.

Another wonderful holiday
From the moment we arrived at Riad Serpa and met our host Nando it was clear this was going to be a very special week. Two people in our group arrived early in the morning and Nando went out of his way to facilitate an early check-in and baggage drop so they could explore the beaches in comfort. When I arrived he explained everything about the villa and took me for a drive in his car to show me the two local beaches and local restaurants and supermarket.
The spacious villa has beautiful Moroccan-themed decor both inside and out, a gated private pool complete with loungers, daybed, shower and outdoor toilet, and lots of outdoor seating areas to relax, read, or take a break in the shade. Inside the kitchen was very well equipped with everything you could possibly need, the beds were super comfortable and the standard of cleaning was really excellent. A truly wonderful touch was the provision of Moroccan kaftans (djellabas) for all the guests! These got plenty of use being ideal casual wear in such a hot climate.
The outside are also has a built in brick BBQ and the local supermarket sells a wonderful range of skewers and other meats and fish, ideal for a “ready made” BBQ experience.
The two children in our group loved the little garden playground too, with its roundabout and swing. The villa is located in a lovely quiet part of Gale with the well-stocked Apolina supermarket just a few minutes' walk away, it also has a very nice coffee shop for snacks and ice cream. Gale beach (with its Michelin-star restaurant Vila Joya) is about 5 - 10 mins walk away – it has surfing school and paddle boards and such like for hire but there is also a quieter part of the beach closer to the villa with the Praia Lourenco restaurant, we enjoyed a delicious family meal there, a beautiful spot to watch the sun go down over the beach.
On our last day our flight departure was late evening so Nando took our bags for storage allowing us a baggage free day on the excellent Gale beach.
We would highly recommend Riad Serpa and hope to return there for another wonderful holiday. -

The villa is beautiful. Attention to detail is second to none and the decor is stunning.
Located near the beaches, restaurants and supermarket, the villa is perfect for a relaxed family holiday.
Tila and her family were very accommodating to us and literally bent over backwards to help us.

Fantastic stay!
Fantastic stay! In addition to the friendliness we were received by Fernando and Tila, the villa is faithful to the photos, all the Moroccan details and all the spaces are super welcoming. The details we liked the most were the living room ceiling lights, which Fernando told us they came directly from Marrakech last week and they were absolutely gorgeous in the evening!!! Plus, the location was great, with Apolónia supermarket and colibri cafe 5 minutes away on foot, and the beaches right next door. Cleaning was 5* especially in covid times. In general we liked it a lot and hope to come back next year!
