Villa Savini is a newly refurbished luxury villa that provides comfortable accommodation for eight people to enjoy. It is a relaxing retreat in the centre of one of the most beautiful private nature reserves in Italy.
Villa Savini is a 14th century complex set in a stunning position with beautiful views across endless woods, olive trees and green valleys. With immaculate furnishings in warm, rich colours, comfortable furniture, and four beautiful en suite bedrooms, the villa has all the comforts of a modern home with the services of a 5 star resort. The surrounding grounds are fenced for privacy and safety, immaculately kept, contain a lovely outdoor breakfast table, and have a gorgeous panoramic terrace perfect for a cocktail in the sunset. There is also a luxury private swimming pool, framed by the magnificent views of the green valley.
The 18 hole Robert Trent Jones Jr. designed golf course of Antognolla is within the same estate, only 5 minutes from the villa with a golf cart or 3 minutes with a normal car.
What you should know…
- The Property is in a rural location, on the top of a hill (600 meter above sea level) within a country estate, which is a large Umbrian active agricultural farm. The access road to the Property is a long and occasionally steep private white gravel road, not suitable for sports cars or any other low-height car. We would recommend the use of a 4 wheel drive car.
- Larger parties travelling together may also wish to book any of the following properties located within the same estate: Tower Villa (sleeps 8), Villa Subtila (sleeps 18), Monte Tezio (sleeps 14), Villa Chimneys (sleeps 12), Villa La Macchia (sleeps 6), Villa Palchi (sleeps 8), La Casa Nel Bosco (sleeps 2) and Castello Maddalena (sleeps 20).

The villa accommodates up to eight guests in four king size bedrooms. All the bedrooms have been individually decorated with excellent facilities and boasts magnificent views.

Location
About the surrounding area of Villa SaviniWith over 30 percent of the region’s total area made up of woodland, Umbria is known as “the Green Heart of Italy”. Villa Savini has the unique advantage of being situated in the very centre of this area steeped with history and tradition.
Umbria is one of Italy’s most beautiful and enchanting regions. This tranquil land of saints and ancient mystics, with its romantic countryside and its historically rich medieval hilltowns, inspires a special reverence in the hearts of Italians as well as the foreigners visiting it. More than anywhere else, the region seems to represent the country’s spirituality.
With less than a million inhabitants, Umbria’s population density is half that of the national average, leaving ample room to express individuality. The simple pleasures of country living, surrounded by idyllic natural beauty, are enhanced by art, architecture, wonderful food and wine in nearby towns and cities throughout the two adjoining regions of Lazio and Tuscany.
Florence and Rome are within a two hour drive, and Siena, Arezzo, Assisi, Todi and Orvieto are all closely linked. The capital city of Perugia is just 20 minutes away and offers a wealth of cultural activities that include opera and the famous Umbria Jazz festival, held every July. Other spectacular hilltop towns include Cortona and Preggio. Preggio has an annual classical music festival and the annual Montone Film Festival which attracts an international audience.
During the summer months, open-air concerts and operas are often staged in the gardens of famous villas and palazzos throughout the region.
Many tours and excursions can be organized for guests during their stay by the Estate’s management. Villa Savini offers total comfort for the client and scenic beauty. There are four exclusively furnished bedrooms that overlook luxurious landscaped gardens full of lavender and rose bushes. Breathtaking terraces command endless valley views, making Villa Subtila an idyllic experience.
Guests have access to an 18 hole championship golf course, designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. A golf clubhouse and restaurant facilities within the same estate are only 3 minutes distance from the villa. These are also accessible by golf cart through a private pathway that runs across the nature reserve. All guests staying have discounts on the golf green fees and at the clubhouse restaurant.
There are a wide range of outdoor pursuits and activities including hunting, fishing and mountain biking.
History
This country estate has risen majestically in the midst of the Umbrian region for more than a millennium.
Inhabited since prehistoric times, the estate has been witness to many historical events which helped shape Italy today. Murlo is situated at the very top of a beautiful hill near Monte Elceto di Murlo and Monte Tezio. It was an easily defensible and dominant position when originally built.

All guests coming to the estate this year will also be able to visit our wonderful new Farm House in the heart of the estate where they will find a shop selling local produce from the estate (wine, olive oil, fresh pasta, cheese, charcuterie etc) as well as a specially designed kitchen for cooking classes. The Concierge Team will also be on hand at the Farm House to welcome guests and help arrange anything they might need for their stay – from delicious meals delivered to the villas or private spa treatments to activities and excursions including hiking and biking around the estate or guided tours of local towns such as Perugia and Assisi.
Please note that all services are subject to availability and must be requested in advance and that due to some rural/remote locations, not all services will be available at all properties. Prices are on request. We will always do our best to fulfil your requests!
